If you would like to incorporate the passing rule, pass one card to your opponent every other round.
Since it is possible for hearts and the queen of spades to be in the widow, total possible points for shooting the moon changes. To keep scoring simple, stick with awarding 20 points for shooting the moon. For a different challenge, only award points equal to the amount of penalty cards available that round. - เกม

Enjoyed the vid! I read somewhere that along with passing 1 card instead of 3 you could also make the Qs worth just 7 to keep the Q/hearts value ratio the same, and then play 1st to 50?

So you say in the video when a player cannot follow suit they can play any card they wish including hearts. So can you not play hearts when you can’t follow suit or is it mandatory? I was told if you can’t follow suit you have to play a heart and if you don’t have a heart only then you can play whatever you want. I’m not sure hopefully you can clarify.
Follow the lead suit if you are able. If you cannot follow suit, you may play any card.
What happens if you shoot the moon but you only get 19 points because a heart was in the 2 cards set aside?
I still score it as 20 to keep the scoring simple. If you like, you can stay strict and only give points equal to the number of point cards in the game though.
Are the rankings for king, queen, jack and 10 the same? Who takes the trick if there is one of each of those, or if there is a king and queen?
The rankings are the same. From high to low: Ace, King, Queen, Jack and so on.☺️
Is there a limitation to no points cards on the first trick as well?
Yes, that rule is applied as well. Some people do not play that way though. :)
If you lead with a queen of spades why would your opponent want to win the trick? Seems like whoever got dealt it would end up holding it.
You would probably try not to lead with the queen unless you know your opponent only has the king or ace. Most likely you will try to play the queen off suit when you are unable to follow.
What happens if one of the hearts is in the widow and someone shoots the moon? Do you still give them 20 points or 19?
That can be decided based on your preference. I still give 20 just to keep the scoring simple.

If any points are in the widow (including the Q of spades), the round is played without those points. If a person collects all other points that ARE in play, they successfully shot the moon. Another option is to say whoever captures the last trick also gets the widow. That will make shooting the moon much more risky and difficult, but it could make for a nice “gotcha” at the end of the round.

What if 1 player plays a suit that the other doesn't have, and the other has no hearts to play. Can they put down any card?
Yes. If you cannot follow suit, you may play any card. =^)
What happens if the queen of hearts is in the widow and some one shoots the moon
To keep the scoring simple, the 26 point penalty stays the same. However, you can play that the point value for shooting the moon changes based on the cards in play. So, if the Queen on Hearts is in the widow, the penalty for shooting the moon would only 25 instead of 26. Does that help?
Do you still pass 3 cards to each other in this game
If you want to incorporate the pass, pass one card instead of three and alternate doing so every other round. So round 1 you pass a card, round 2 has no pass and so on.
