I accepted the Lord into my heart when I was 31. I just turned 49 and it's been the best life ever. When we have difficult times in our lives, it's only trials that the Lord wants' us to face. He tests our faith and he only wants us to love Him even more. Daily things in our lives can keep us apart, try and remember Him as our day goes on. Be much as devoted as you can. He stretched out His arms for all of us on the cross and is waiting for us to walk into his arms there. May god bless all!
I went through the same thing just a year after we married my wife left me.I can tell you this,God is Great,He will restore you and give you back everything that you have lost.I thought that part of me died when she left.I cried out to God every night and it seemed that He wasn't listening to me. But God works on His time.My family is stronger and closer to God now than we were.I will pray for you and your wife But let God do what God doe's best.Be GOD.
Pure musicianship at its finest. No gimmicks or prancing around the stage like clowns. Just a bunch of great musicians playing their instruments and singing. She has the voice of an angel.
I am a big fan of Alison and have met her at a bluegrass festival. Listen to “ Eva Cassidy” for she has a beautiful voice as well. Unfortunately she passed away before her music became known worldwide.
I just lost my daughter to a fentanyl overdose on the 12th of May (2024) and struggling to find a reason for it all. I listen to this song which I've done for years now to reach a few minutes of memory and beauty that she was on earth. 'Til I see her again it's what I have to hold onto. Alison's voice and the harmonies of this incredible band give me some solace for a few minutes.
@eaglerare22 I'm so sorry for your loss, Anthony. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, will see you through this, and after we leave this vale of darkness and tears He will explain how she fit into His plan; her experience and yours were not in vain, and you will understand then. Until then, keep telling Jesus your feelings and asking for Grace for the day. He knows your thoughts and wants you to be honest; submitting to His love will strengthen you. I recommend you read Ron Block's book "Abiding Dependence: Living Moment-By-Moment In the Love of God": www.amazon.com/Abiding-Dependence-Living-Moment-Moment/dp/0802424740/ref=sr_1_1 Ebay has a couple of used copies right now for $8.35 no shipping.
This song saved me during a very dark period in my life. My boss harrassed me daily, and I was literally suicidal. I would sometimes listen to this song all day at work. I don't have any tattoos, but if I ever got one, it would say, "There is a reason...." It would remind me why I need to keep going.
The world is struggling to fight the unseen enemy, and tears starts to fall while watching and listening to an angels voice!... Please our Lord heal the world, forgive us🙏🏽 PLEASE!. 😢
Same here.. the World has lost it's way and there is a path out of all this. We must open our hearts and let it happen. Reach out to others and help us allow the truth to shine.forth.
At this point in my life I’ve come to realize that life is (and always was) just a collection of memories; a composition of emotional states that lead nowhere, but were enjoyable along the journey. The one who loves me , and loves me most, knows the reason for it all. We’re safe in His all knowing.
Tina Campbell: A 3-years old child who is repeatedly restrained from running into a busy street feels angry and unloved, sometimes screaming, "I hate you!" to the one who loves him/her more than life.
I am not a believer, yet this post is not "anti-Christ." I agree with many of the other posts - the singing a musicianship is superb. Despite my religious position, I have watched this video, like 50 times. And it makes my eye's well up each time. Each time I view it I focus on the different singers, and the different instruments being played - individually As an musician amateur myself, I am so impressed by the harmony and skills of the band members. Well done...very well done!
I've never heard this song before but I found it today and I truly believe it's because God knows I need this message right now. Please, Lord, give me grace and peace whilst I walk the road I walk right now. Amen.
As a 58-year Christian, I can see many of the reasons, which helps me through new trials. My favorite story came from a friend, who one morning "lost" his car keys. After running to the car in pouring rain, not seeing them there, and running back to the house, he "found" them in his coat pocket. On the way to work, he approached an intersection that was normally bumper-to-bumper traffic, his brakes failed, and he crossed on red with not a car in sight. Had he found the keys on "his time"...
There is a reason, God created Alison to help me deal with life and get through the hard times, her music soothes my soul. I thank God for Alison & Union Station.
I'm so happy that there are so many Christian country singers that are willing and able the share the gospel through song. Thank you Alison for some great music. God has give you a great gift.
I had the chance to see Allison and her wonderful group live and they did this song. Ron wrote a gem and all of us who were their that night got to see her do justice to it. Thank-you for positng
Discovered this song during a very very rough time in our family. Very uplifting. Appreciate your commitment to edifying the name of Christ here as well.
This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The vocals, including harmonies, the instrumentation, as well as the song's message leave me absolutely speechless. I listen to the song over and over again and never grow tired of it. Thank you to Ron Block for writing this beautiful hymn; the world needs this so much!💕
I'm a Christian, I love the lord, He is amazing god, He love's his children unconditionally and all you have to do is repent. I love this song and thank you Alison for sharing it.. Through god you will find the reason.. Ask upon him..

This song has so much meaning for me. Going through some sorrowful and rough times right now. Thank you, Alison, for sharing your music with us all. It is a great comfort for me.
I am a jewish believe in GOD but still this song is lovely, and Alison Krauss is amazing, so touching voice, like angels have touched her voice, and WOW she is beautiful too.... thank you for sharing this video with us.
You're welcome, SnirOrr, and thanks for your delightful comment. I will forever be grateful to your family for The Lion of the tribe of Judah. (Hosea 5:14; Revelation 5:5) I am pleased you did not omit the "O" in "GOD". I understand the reason for omission, but, as a logophile and philologist, I find omitting a vowel puzzling, when there are no vowels in Hebrew, so if the goal is not to completely spell His name, I question whether that goal has been achieved. I'm sure it is a forced act, as omitting "G" or "D" would result in some readers not recognizing the word. Shalom, my friend.
anyone with a real "musical ear" can hear that this is, without a doubt,,,awesome. The music, the vocals,,the harmony. Makes my goosebumps get goosebumps
Thank you Ron. We lost our oldest son in the wee morning hours of May 27, 2019, he was 39, taken in a one car accidnt and he left behind a Stay at Home Widowed Mother and four Children. This song makes me think of him, as we struggle to find The Reason For It All.
Something like that tragedy is something I cannot ever imagine. My heart goes out to you and I pray that time has eased the heartache, a little bit. Prayers from Ireland. Gerry Farry.
What a beautiful way to express what every one of us as Christians go through every day, We want to be more like Christ but the world slips in, thankfully, we have a Savior that has infinite mercy for thouse who call on Jesus name. After all there are two kinds of people in this world "Lost sinners ," and Saved sinners." Alison and the Station Guys music are a great help and reminder in a powerful way of what we strtive for. Thanks for shairing this song!
the most beautiful female voice i have ever heard. what a blessing to be alive in this music era. God bless you alison, at this rate you will soon have your 32nd grammy, which will be well deserved!! peace be with you!!
Appreciate you comments and totally agree. I love Alison and Union Station just wonderful music, She truly has the voice of an angel and when she sings the world at least for a moment seems like a peaceful and loving place.
Thank you for your touching comment. As the father of a woman who has been treated for cancer, and as a 59-year Christian and Bible student, I can assure you that everything that happens in the life of a Christian is designed to make him/her more like Christ (Romans 8:28-29), which glorifies God. I believe one of the sweetest things about Eternity will be sitting at Jesus' feet and listening as He explains how our trials fit into His master plan. God bless you and Teresa.
"God so loved the world..." We are not sinless, we are forgiven. Thank you Lord... Great song, wonderful artist, and thank you Sid for stopping the madness, so we can share together and enjoy the beauty of these lyrics and this artist in peace.
Been through that just not seventeen years...For me it was 9.5 yrs and I became a full-time single parent of a 5 yr old boy, 3 yr old girl, and 2 yr old boy. The two older children are now married and have children of their own. They are amazing parents. The youngest is doing well as a single young man finding his way into a new career. I am blessed. Sharing this to let you know that it won't always look as bad as it does now. Msg me if you want. Be glad to help any way poss. just listen...
This is one of my favorite AS and US songs. It was written by Ron Block who is a fine singer songwriter and a member of Allison's band. I had the chance to see them close a show with it. It was a memory that I will never forget. Thank-you for sharing it.
God Bless you stating that comment, the world is needing to be reminded we need to be thankful for everything we have and not what we want. And that goes out to even the people without faith, I pray for a better day for everyone!
My friend, don't let them get to you. Keep your faith and hold it strong. I'm not Christian, but I believe in his message. And I believe that Alison Krauss has the voice, literally, of an angel here on earth. Beautiful song.
When it comes from the heart the way AK sings it EVERY time, religion goes completely out the window, no matter what the words may refer to. Beauty is beauty, and the message in this song is just as beautiful as the one who is singing it. This is truly an amaaaaazing song.
Thank you for your stand. There is too much of all that in the world, as you say. I am a Christian, and I don't expect everyone to believe as I do, but there is no call for stirring up antipathy and intolerance in a place where we're just trying to enjoy beautiful music whose theme we happen to share.
This is one of my favorite songs. I sing this to my autistic daughter and I can never get through it without crying. "The love that shed his blood..." says it all. Thank you all wonderful musicians and Ron Block for writing this song-right up there with Amazing Grace IMHO. †
This song is so very beautiful,& I'm just hearing it for the 1st time! I want to Dedicate it to my dear friend Teresa who is fighting luekemia at this very moment... there must be a reason for the things we go thru here,& someday we'll understand! Thank you Allison & thank you Lord for such a beautiful song that makes us cry & makes us feel better all at the same time. God bless all the hurting people tonight wherever they are!
It's been a while since I've been on here, but I totally appeciate your stand for the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Before long though, I'm sure that the pressure will be greater. But thanks be to GOD, HE said that HE wouldn't put any more on us, than we could take. GOD BLESS!!
This song is one of the best explanations of the reason for pain and suffering in our lives. I have been drawn closer to God during the most difficult times of my life and the lyrics really explain my experience. Love Allison Krauss and Union Station also. Wish everyone could understand and I think this song helps.
Beautifully said above. I had the honor to meet Allison twice over the years Truly love her raw voice, a lot of voice for a little lady. She is a sweet soul and very gifted. Thanks for sharing your story and this song. God bless. xxxx Dennis.
Allison and Union Station are quite simply wonderful. Ron Blocks songs are heartfelt and full of meaning, sweet melodys and harmonys. I am a humanist, but that does not stop me from loving Rons songs. You do not have to believe to simply listen. All songs are to a certain extant make believe, if it strikes a chord with you then that is all that matters. Christian or not, this is simply wonderful. I hope this will not upset you, even unbelievers can appreciate the sentiments behind this lovely and thoughtfull song
Allison Krauss has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. She truly puts into words her love for Jesus and this is something this world needs a whole lot more of. It really is a shame that others can't see that also.
God has carried me many times in my life, when I thought I couldn't take one more step. I've been to the point to even question "why".... but even in my doubt He loved me all the way through it. Great song!
This is a simple yet tremendous song. There were some poignant moments in the song, and I can relate to a lot - " But I keep on getting caught up, in this world I'm living in, & your voice it sometimes fades before I know" This one phrase probably sums up many of us. I know, I am one, & at many times, needs to be pulled back to reality and listen to his guidance & reassurance that he'll always be there to catch us when, not if we fall. I just have to learn to pause long enough to listen. But fear not, that's what makes us human, and the good news is, Jesus knows that, & he is always less than a whisper or thought away. - Sid you do incredible work for God's Glory, on your page!!
MyREDWAL Thank you for the encouragement. Dottie Rambo's husband said that once he was really struggling, and in his prayer closet he said, "God! Why are you doing this to me?" The answer immediately came into his heart: "It's the only way I can get you into this prayer closet." Unfortunately, that's a routine all true Christians experience.
Like the early morning sunlight pouring through the stained glass windows of a little chapel in the country.......Alison's voice is straight from Heaven, a gift from our Lord!
I am not a Christian or Catholic. Alison's singing creates the link between my god and me...lovely singing. God bless her and bless you for uploading this.
4 Am in Boston I am about to take a walk in the snow ..Irs simply beautiful out there can't watch it another second from my window ... one of God's gifts l and I don't want miss it. I will be singing this sing out there it feel like it's perfect for this moment in time while also remembering , counting and thanking God for my blessings and praying 🙏 for everyone during this hard and uncertain times in our world.🌏 And for Allison Krause who is like an angel.amomgst us 🙏
One of my criterion for judging a song to be truly great is its ability to make me cry. More than once. This is a truly great song, with deep, deep meaning regarding our innate spiritual longings and struggles. And I cannot imagine anyone, or any group, more perfectly suited to communicate its message. Thank you Ron!
I thought I was alone in falling apart every time I listen to this beautiful song. Surely there must be many who need to listen to such a gem, if only to act as a balm to the suffering .
I have a friend (Shawn) in prison who introduced me to your (Alison Krauss) music. It is very good...thank you. Shawn has become a Christian, and remarked about your music, "It's a beautiful Jesus song and always tends to leave me a little weepy!" Shawn has made some serious mistakes in his life, and has become very sensitive about the pain suffered by others. He goes on to say, "I'm a very emotional guy and seem to draw to and connect with people through their pain. Not even really sure why I say that to you {as he wrote in his letter to me} but it's true, people seem to just come to me and talk about their pain and shame." So, I'm pleased that your musical contribution has affected Shawn to point of being able to help others as they suffer through their extreme circumstances. I'm sure your musical talents have been an inspiration to many others as well.
Thank you so much for putting up such an important song. I live in and love Montana and it is on fire. I see many of my Christian brothers and sisters fretting and worrying about that and while I know we need to be in prayer about it, we also need to keep praising our LORD because He has got this. Same with Hurricane Harvey though it is a far graver situation for so many people. Pray and give it all to God and continue to praise His Holy Name!! This song is a good example of how Christians can move forward in a scary situation. LORD we believe; but help our unbelief!!
What a blessing this video is for me. Thank You I am consecrated to Christ and his Word as a Secular Franciscan. Tomorrow I go for another infusion of Entyvio while fighting severe Crohn's Disease that almost cost my life 2 times in the last year. Yes there is a reason for it all. Amen. Blessed Christmas to all. Pax et Bonum!
The fundamental reason for everything is to bring glory to God, simultaneously growing a love relationship between Christ Jesus and His chosen ones. May He, The Great Physician, give you faith to worship and serve Him as you cope with this disease and all the other strife in this fallen world, as we patiently wait for Him to take us to be with Him. Peace and good to you.
SidsCardShop Had Latin? I had SSND's for 9 years (K+8) and Jesuits for 8. (Prep & Univ. Went through 4 years of Latin in 2; the homeroom teachers had to improvise for Jr & Sr years - we translated Ovid & the nut who thought he could fly until the sun ruined his plans. Our peers called us the "Brain Room" behind our backs. I also had 2 religious in my Mom's family. So I guess you can guess what my background is.)
One would hope that the sheer beauty of this song and the deeper sentiments it captures and expresses would transcend any unwanted comments. I am no Christian myself, but I get the heartfelt purity of this song. Thanks for posting it.
This is absolute perfection. Perfect songwriting, perfect blending of voices. Stunning clarity & simplicity. I'm not a 'Christian' in the traditional sense, but this song made me stop in my tracks. Whatever the heck the message was in this song, I GOT it. MAD RESPECT.
Alisons songs are very inspiring to me.. they lift me up when I am not doing right in my life..her songs have such meaning to me.they give me hope that i will be okay..
Absolutely beautiful I know the Lord has to be looking down from heaven and smiling.. His hand has to be on this lady. Just love her. Thanks for the video.
THANK you, for saying this Alison! When you sing a song I want to add to my "list of songs" when my time comes, someone has to know what I love- I have a few, and your songs are on there! God bless, carry us all to Glory when the time comes. Respect for your stand!
Proud for your stand brother. I love Alllison and thing her voice is amazing, love the Cox family as well. This song is beautiful! Thank you for sharing it.
Had the privilege of of seeing this lady when she was in Dublin, Ireland many years ago and fell in love with her music. For me this is what music is about
+Michael O'Donoghue It's cool to see an Irishman appreciating this music. Most of us in the part of America that listens to this have Irish roots, even if we have Scottish/English surnames.
Just a nice message, remember to give yourself a chance a reason to live life with understanding and forgiveness. We get so complacent in our everyday lives we forget the miracle of life, that love brought us here. Happy Easter!
He is the reason for it all....my Father, my God, my Jesus, my Rock. I give my heart so easily to the Ruler of this World, the one who loves me most of all.
I see this was 5 years ago now, but... I think the lyrics "ruler of this world" refer to Satan; if you look at the context (and correct words): "When what I wrap my heart around is gone I give my heart so easily to the ruler of this world When the one who loves me most will give me all." Our hearts are prone to wander, and as others have commented/prayed "Lord, help our unbelief." :)
Thank you for posting this wonderful and deeply meaningful song from one of the top female vocalists and best groups today. At least, they are my favorites. I especially like the inspirational songs they do.
In response to requests for the lyrics, I added a link to the end of my Uploader comments above.

@@stardate984 yes me too and i told her so :)
so beautiful it is ! :) Angel She Is ! :)
I would just like to say, plain and simple, her voice is of the most beautiful I've ever heard, and the harmonies are absolutely lovely.
Amy Grant is right up there, too. (Also, check out Claire Lynch. Her voice is similar to Alison's, but more delicate.)
This is possibly my all time favorite song of all time, across all genres.
I am a big fan of Alison and have met her at a bluegrass festival. Listen to “ Eva Cassidy” for she has a beautiful voice as well. Unfortunately she passed away before her music became known worldwide.

Ron Block's lyrics are so beautiful- you don't have to be a Christian to be touched by this. This song resonates right into the human soul.

John Robert Hanna: My pleasure. God bless you.
What a blessing. This really spoke to me. I played this for my wife and it brought her to tears.
This song says it all about one's relationship with Jesus Christ. We turn to everything that glitters when His perfect love is right in front of us.
The Bible says a New Creation. Born Again. Old passes away.
Tears. One of the most beautiful songs they have done.
I've never heard this song before but I found it today and I truly believe it's because God knows I need this message right now. Please, Lord, give me grace and peace whilst I walk the road I walk right now. Amen.
the blood that Jesus shed will never lose it's power, beautiful words to this song, well wrote Ron.

Please note, the writer of this song is a member of the Union Station Band, Ron Block, a brilliant guitar player and songwriter.
This is good to know. I love to see the writers get the respect they truly deserve.

the most beautiful female voice i have ever heard. what a blessing to be alive in this music era. God bless you alison, at this rate you will soon have your 32nd grammy, which will be well deserved!! peace be with you!!
YES--one Day we'll all be before Our Lord
Forgiving yourself is a gift from Him. Find peace in your heart and let the love pour in.
Appreciate you comments and totally agree. I love Alison and Union Station just wonderful music, She truly has the voice of an angel and when she sings the world at least for a moment seems like a peaceful and loving place.
Thank you, Sharon!
Bless you!
So true, amen.
"God so loved the world..." We are not sinless, we are forgiven. Thank you Lord... Great song, wonderful artist, and thank you Sid for stopping the madness, so we can share together and enjoy the beauty of these lyrics and this artist in peace.
NC Heart , I am grateful for being able. Thank you.
By far my favorite song by Alison Krauss. So uplifting !
Best song EVER! Thank you Ron Block.
Dag-On... Keep On🎉
OK, I admit: I'm addicted to Alison Krauss.
This girl is amazing and also are all the other guys of this band.
Go for it Sid. Stand your ground bro. Alison is one of my fav singers.
+Johnny Jalin Thanks, Johnny.
This is one of my favorite AS and US songs. It was written by Ron Block who is a fine singer songwriter and a member of Allison's band. I had the chance to see them close a show with it. It was a memory that I will never forget. Thank-you for sharing it.
Proof that God sent Angels to testify to those who've been created "a little lower" than angels.
Thank you Father!
You cannot look and God's creation, and not believe.
My husband went to Heaven in July. This song has been a great comfort. Thank you SidsCardShop.
I am blessed to be part of your experience. Thank you for expressing your faith and hope. (2 Samuel 12:23 "I shall go to him")
Hang in there. May God bless you with strength, healing, and knowing that your hubby is in Good Hands. Take care.
Thank you for standing up for your space
When it comes from the heart the way AK sings it EVERY time, religion goes completely out the window, no matter what the words may refer to. Beauty is beauty, and the message in this song is just as beautiful as the one who is singing it. This is truly an amaaaaazing song.
I play this at least once a week. What a consolation it is, every time! Thank you so much for sharing it! God bless!
I am an ex-christian and this song chokes me up every time. It is so pertinent to many of us.
Dear Ed, my Soul hurt when I read ex-Christian...what happened to cause that? I pray you reconsider....
Thank you for your stand. There is too much of all that in the world, as you say. I am a Christian, and I don't expect everyone to believe as I do, but there is no call for stirring up antipathy and intolerance in a place where we're just trying to enjoy beautiful music whose theme we happen to share.
She's a lady
Alison Krauss is the all-time queen of romantic western and Christian country music. Long live Alison.
Praise the Lord! Love the lyrics and Alison's lovely voice.
This is one of my favorite songs. I sing this to my autistic daughter and I can never get through it without crying.
"The love that shed his blood..." says it all.
Thank you all wonderful musicians and Ron Block for writing this song-right up there with Amazing Grace IMHO.

Some say life is short. I say that life is infinite. It all depends on where you choose to spend it.
GOD BLESS!!
Keep coming back here...beautiful. Thanks, Sid! :-)
I'm so glad it blesses you. Thanks!
Great song!
Mary Campbell: Amen!
MyREDWAL
Thank you for the encouragement. Dottie Rambo's husband said that once he was really struggling, and in his prayer closet he said, "God! Why are you doing this to me?" The answer immediately came into his heart: "It's the only way I can get you into this prayer closet." Unfortunately, that's a routine all true Christians experience.
One of my favorites of Alisons and brings tears of joy to me when I hear this one! She is a blessing to us all. Thank you!
Like the early morning sunlight pouring through the stained glass windows of a little chapel in the country.......Alison's voice is straight from Heaven, a gift from our Lord!
Amen ! I never get tired of her voice: you can't get tired of pure fresh water...
What a beautiful song - I am a huge fan of Allison and of Ron's and this touched my heart! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I am not a Christian or Catholic. Alison's singing creates the link between my god and me...lovely singing. God bless her and bless you for uploading this.
Catholics are Christians. It's not one or the 'tother...
4 Am in Boston I am about to take a walk in the snow ..Irs simply beautiful out there can't watch it another second from my window ... one of God's gifts l and I don't want miss it.
I will be singing this sing out there it feel like it's perfect for this moment in time while also remembering , counting and thanking God for my blessings and praying 🙏 for everyone during this hard and uncertain times in our world.🌏
And for Allison Krause who is like an angel.amomgst us 🙏
One of my criterion for judging a song to be truly great is its ability to make me cry.
Boy, did I need that song today. Praise Your Name, Jesus!!!
Alison has the voice of an angel. Beautiful song and message. t.y. for uploading.
It's so beautiful..a simple prayer of faith.
Nothing is more beautiful, and the delivery, reflects that spirit ..that spirit of faith.
Not even really sure why I say that to you {as he wrote in his letter to me} but it's true, people seem to just come to me and talk about their pain and shame."
So, I'm pleased that your musical contribution has affected Shawn to point of being able to help others as they suffer through their extreme circumstances.
Her voice is like velvet.
Certainly blessed.
Absolutely beautiful I know the Lord has to be looking down from heaven and smiling..
His hand has to be on this lady.
Just love her.
Thanks for the video.
I've always loved Alison's music! Thank you!
Carole Hammonds: You're welcome.
I can't believe I haven't heard this yet. This is an incredible song performed by the greatest female singer of all-time.
What a song. What a sound. The voice of an Angel. Thank you Alison. Keep singing to us. We love you so much.........
I've Loved Allison since she was 15.❤
He is the reason for it all....my Father, my God, my Jesus, my Rock. I give my heart so easily to the Ruler of this World, the one who loves me most of all.
I see this was 5 years ago now, but... I think the lyrics "ruler of this world" refer to Satan; if you look at the context (and correct words): "When what I wrap my heart around is gone
I give my heart so easily to the ruler of this world
When the one who loves me most will give me all." Our hearts are prone to wander, and as others have commented/prayed "Lord, help our unbelief." :)
Amen
Everyone has their "likes and dislikes", but can't understand how someone could not enjoy this beautiful song!
I love Jesus, I love Alison K, and I love Sid's positive stand.
3pigsfly Thank you!!!
Thank you for posting this wonderful and deeply meaningful song from one of the top female vocalists and best groups today. At least, they are my favorites. I especially like the inspirational songs they do.
+Donna K. Thank you!
