Excellent tutorial, just what I was looking for. I had challenged myself to make a procedural waffle in Houdini and wanted to figure out how to use vellum soft body for simulations. Thanks!

Your lessons are like therapy for me.. You are a very good person..
Fantastic tutorial! I've learned a TON. Quick question: In the point deform/transform_softbodies section, when I try CopyToPoints, the rotation of the pancakes isn't being copied and they're all aligned vertically. I've tried bringing the rotation downstream, but nothing seems to fix it.
Hi I have a question, after simulating the vellum sim, my fluid sim isn't inheriting the syrup group. I'm not able to blast it out as there's no points in the group.
Back again. When you created the retime control node at the obj level, what expression did you put in for the frame float? $F, $FF?... For some reason the retiming is not working for me in the post processing section. When I merge my waffles and syrup group, the waffles position is higher than it should be, so something is not being interpreted correctly. Thank you!
@@MrSunamo Hey welcome back 👋 I animated the frame with keyframes. Did you create two separate retime nodes for the liquid and waffles and linked both frame channels to the obj level float frame slider?
@@FabianStrube It's looking like that's not the problem. It occurs when copying my high-res waffle geo onto the low-res sim data. When I toggle on the copy to points node, the geo shifts slightly higher up on the Y axis. This results in the syrup and waffles not aligning further on after meshing the vellum fluid. Maybe something changed with Houdini 20.5?

absolutely great
Thank you so much 😀
Another awesome tutorial! Love you teaching style
thanks for doing this nice tutorials. also really liked the vex stuff you did!
Great help, learned a lot; Thanks!

Ah nvm I figured it out. Turns out my group node was set to primitives and not points.
wonderful thank you!
Nice 🥰
