I feel like what they aren’t considering is the hormones in her body. They are not taking into account how hormone imbalances can play part in weight and mental health. I also think they are going about this wrong. How about making working out fun? Have her join a sports team she used to play soccer. She lives with them why don’t they all start eating healthier and with portion control. If she like pancakes give her pancakes instead of taking away add healthier things to them.
Who the heck wants to run when they are out of shape? Have her walk on a treadmill for 10 mins on an incline to start out and gradually increase to 30mins once a day and she’ll drop the weight fast.

Someone was trying to say that her depression and anxiety and weight gain is from transitioning and she’s not happy and the mom is like “no she’s depressed for other reasons not that” so in my head, I think even if she was depressed from transitioning her parents would never admit it because it would go against everything they stand for and everything they have ever said would be a lie.

I think she definitely doesn't like how fat she's gotten, but she needs therapy to be coached through her ED, to return to normal eating habits before she can think about dieting. But other than that I think she's at least ok if not happy with everything else. It was unfortunate about the complications from her surgery but the follow up corrections went well thankfully!

I haven't watched this show before but as an ED/trauma therapist, this is a completely unhelpful approach to supporting someone struggling with binge eating. More dieting, restriction, pushed exercise, pressure on weight loss, shaming.... that will all exacerbate the binge eating. @Judge Jenny Yes, I noticed the labored breathing and that is extremely unhealthy especially in a 21-year-old person that's just scary unhealthy! It sounds to me like they baby her really bad however I don't know it comes a time when a child has to realize that they are no longer a child and grow up and take responsibility for themselves that's the only way she will ever understand this. Just you know like screw what everybody else wants but within reason go for your dreams and aspirations if it be school then go for it, but sometimes you got to take a step back and just do a little check on yourself first before you can move on.
I worry about this child. I seriously do. She almost needs someone prepping her meals for her. And that would not be so hard. Because she would be guaranteed to lose her weight and at that point it would give her confidence in herself-- it would actually solve quite a few things and make her heart healthier as well as cholesterol numbers good, blood pressure in check and keep her off the diabetics list!! 😳 And when you get your weight down and get your body where you want it to be it just brings on a whole new layer of self-confidence in so many ways and I bet school would appeal so much better to her at that point! I'll be praying for this child of God 🙏🙏🙋‍♀️✝️

Only girls do that and Jazz was never a girl. When your entire life is predicated on a lie your only pursuit is an unattainable goal. Thats why Jazz still hates “her” body, bc its not the female body “she” wants it to be and never will be bc thats not what “she” is. This child should have been raised to accept themself for what they are -- an effeminate male with an affinity for the customs, presentation, and mannerisms that are socially regarded as typical of girls and women, and left it at that. Instead was fed a lie and now even after everything they went through, still can’t accept themself. Smh, this whole damn family is a circus and the parents are the grifters.

Even if that means just making your bed everyday not to mention its nice if you have a terrible day, you still come home to a made clean bed to start the next day on a better note. -much love take care of yourself and respect others.

What I mean by this, is if your mind is already preoccupied with things you won't be able to have the mind capacity for something new. Like for me, I was keeping up with many tv shows that I enjoy watching, I took the television out of my room and put it in the garage. Now everyday I wake up to do other task then laying down in bed watching TV. Whatever fills ur mind, find a way to get rid of it and replace it with those things you want to do

She has a point. To think of her family environment and how she survives that, I don’t really blame her for manifesting disordered eating, mood & emotional problems. Being hard on people like her (and myself) only pushes us further into depression & problem behaviours. It sucks they are critiquing & attacking her as you can’t “yell away” someone’s mental illness. Preaching is NOT the solution. Change has to come from her own locus of control. Not from external motivations. Throughout the show, Jazz's genitals and body have been openly discussed, photographed, operated on and publicised. The doctor joked that Jazz could be a p*rnstar due to all the photos taken down there, and the family LAUGHED. The first-of-its-kind surgery performed on a 17 year old (leading to FOUR revisions), as well as the mental health problems plaguing Jazz since the age of 12... It's really sad. Jazz seems like a very sweet person who I hope is able to find some happiness and good friends and get away from this stifling environment.

I can sympathize. Depression sucks. I've had long periods of time where I can't seem to function and then I bounce back and it's just been a rollercoaster my entire life. Two years ago I couldn't leave my house. Now I have two jobs, take uni online and am trying to start a business. It's always been like that. Idk how to fix the deeper issues lol. I was just stuffing it back in and literally powering through years of work and post secondary, dropping off the face of the earth occasionally when it all falls apart. I'm genuinely trying to do better now and be healthier and more conscious of myself. I need to stop pretending like my emotions don't exist. My will power is genuinely impressive and two to four years of just straight will power is an insane amount of time but I crack eventually every time. Hoping this time with the self-improvement, it'll be more permanent.

Damn, I feel you! I have done that exact same thing all throughout my life. Ebbs and flows. Bouts of depression then I will push myself to go go go by being overly zealous , over reaching and placing high expectations on myself knowing subconsciously I'm going to have a hiccup and there I go again , defeated. It's a vicious counterproductive cycle , I just to hit a wall. It's not bipolar or manic depressive disorder, I know because I've went to therapist and it's basically MMD. I will go weeks into a depressive state, isolate especially if I have a set back of some sort. COVID hasn't did any of us any favors , it has heightened the emotional rollercoaster. It's difficult for people to power through. I'm still struggling at 42 years old. I'm always looking forward to "ifs" or "one days" meaning I keep pulling myself together just to fall apart all the time. I always push through because I think someday I will have it all together and if I can just finish this degree, or if I can promote or get a better paying job I just know I won't experience hard ups and downs . Yeah right, I even don't believe what I'm saying at times, lying to myself just to make it through whatever it is that particular day or whatever I have to do , always thinking it's going to be a means to an end. Smh I'm trying to learn and adapt, I'm trying to figure out better coping mechanisms. Best wishes to you tho. I read your commentary and it was like I wrote it myself. You detailed the exact same things I go through and struggle with also.
