I love how last season scanlan lied about them being polyamorous, and in this one it’s honestly even more believable

I love that Tusk Love is by far the most prolific piece of information in Exandria. Like, every adventurer’s kit should come with a copy of Tusk Love annotated by Jester.
The only thing that would have made this amazing is if the author had shown up to Traveler Con.

I would love if someone irl wrote Tusk Love and then gave the manuscript to Laura so she could annotate it as Jester (and like have Jester’s handwriting all over the edges of the pages)

The Legend of Five Rings group I'm in holds all our important team meetings in bathhouses because A) they all seem to be run by Scorpions so we're on the same side, and B) it's hard to keep things from each other when we're all naked.

I love that Fjord was most taken aback not by Jester having scryed on Vandren against his wishes, but that Vandren was reading Tusk Love.
Its Jester, we all knew she would go rogue and do it anyway, a ball of well meaning chaos, I agree with Fjord about it being the craziest part
Campaign 2 may as well be subtitled Tusk Love at this rate

I can absolutely see Jester putting together some kind of play version after retiring from adventuring.
I will be greatly disappointed if Tusk Love isn’t a running gag in the Critical Roll TV show

i like this consistent trait Laura has worked into her character. She is endlessly curious about other’s pasts, and often tries to be helpful by reaching to others’ estranged people. In the context of her relationships, it’s something she’s growing to learn can hurt others, and she’s recognizing when she oversteps. In the context of the story, having a character (or two, when Veth gets involved) that actively reaches into others’ pasts means we have a cool, character-driven reason to learn more about everyone. Just like, respect, Laura Bailey. Respect ✊
Ya, she projects her father abandoning her mother into others, and now that she found him and it's all working out well, she can't even conceive that it would be a bad idea to try to re establish old bonds.
The only source for her hesitancy is Caleb. If she hadn't met Trent she wouldn't even understand that someone from someone's past could be a bad person.
Jester's lack of empathy is the singular trait I hate the most about her, followed close by her lack of boundaries. This is not a bad thing, it'd be boring if I liked everything about all their characters. But while it's helpful for us as an audience I would have certainly shut her down as a character if she was meddling in my business xD
@@gonzalocs6757 She has too much empathy is the problem and wants to help Fjord by helping him with the one person he had as a parental figure.
@@ef1987 She really doesn't though. It's curiosity and not empathy that drives her. It being for the sake of the other person is how she justifies it. Same thing when they sent a message to Astrid. She had NO idea what she was doing and it was NOT for Caleb's benefit, she just thought it could be fun.
@@gonzalocs6757 I don't think the way she behaves can be put down as either having or not having empathy. In some aspects she shows a lot of it, in others she shows little to none of it. You know, like a person xD
I find _trully_ empathetic people to be quite rare around. Usually if other people's troubles are remote enough from anything you have ever experienced, empathy becomes harder and harder to apply. Jester quickly empathizes with Yasha's disastrous relationship with Beau, because she has read a lot about that. She instantly empathizes with Veth's despair about her son, not calling attention to her _literally molten_ foot until well after Luke has been made safe, because she has experienced a lot of motherly love. She feels very sad about Astrid and Caleb's situation, probably a mix of her experience having to do terrible things along the Nein mixed with the smut books I mentioned before. But she finds it a lot harder to empathize, for instance, with someone who wants to purposefully not know about their father figure, since finding _hers_ was such a big part of her life.
I had a teacher who used to say "empathy is putting yourself in someone else's shoes, but when their shoes don't fit your feet it can be a lot harder". I wouldn't say she has no empathy, just that she has the same amount most people have: a lot when it comes to things she understands, little to none when it comes to things she doesn't.

Honestly we see so little of goofy Caleb it's really nice when he comes out. It's like a whole other side of him. Like what he would be without all the trauma :) Especially when he polymorphs. Polymorphed, goofy Caleb is the best!

I mean, this isn't the first time they've bathed together. They've traveled together, camped together, routinely all slept under a 10' radius dome before Caleb learned to make the tower. So yeah, they're a pretty close group. Not entirely unlike soldiers in the same unit. Modesty just kind of gets thrown out eventually. You know your buddy has that cat shaped birthmark on his ass and just are used to it.

A thing I’ve always loved about the nine is that they don’t mind at all nudity between them, like, no body shaming and only sexual looks between lovers.
