I know that if the Monkey Paw is listening, lol. This scene setup really shows the action. You should be highlighted if/when they use it for ideas. Great work.
Fucking excellent audio layering. The selected audio was choice, and the decision to layer what was being said was a perfect way of keeping combat moving quickly and showing how things were happening simultaneously. This must have been a massive undertaking. Cool shit.
This was excellent. Holy shit.I remember this whole sequence from a whiiiile ago and youve managed to supercut the timelessness of a 6-second turn into the confusion of real time battle confusion flawlessly. BRAVO!!
This has so many good touches with stuff like seeing Calibs skinned face before he mentioned it and the great animation for nott slipping out of the guards arms. It was way more fluid than I expected as a whole.
This is probably one of my favourite moments in CR, and I love that you were able to condense it into an 8 minute video, and give us visuals. Also going through and cutting up all the audio as well.
I have to say, I have never seen a better DnD fight depiction in animation before. The background description of the fight just adds to it. Great job. Can't wait what they do in the TV show. Hope it's at least this good ;)
dude this is PHENOMENAL. i love the way you spliced together the descriptions of what they're doing, it rly adds an extra layer to this. and the spells, the movements, everything is so fluid! you've earned my sub!
I like to listen to critical role episodes whenever I'm working on stuff I don't need to be fully focused on, but this one episode made me watch the whole way through. This animatic is insane, even better than I imagined the battle to be. It's one of those times in DnD when, somehow, everything works perfectly and everyone has their opportunity to be cool in their own way. I can only wish I once have the opportunity to play a scene half as fun as this one
EIGHT MINUTES?!!? And it's so good, you chose an excellent battle and brought it to life so well! The narration and music and everything works so well here! Amazing job!
I forget how fucking smart the team was during this fight like they handled the scenario so intelligently and it makes me weirdly emotional cause the team dynamic is PHENOMENAL
The extra combat frames were so good, I liked the variable action when needed! Good sign of knowing what to animate and split your time into. Some wicked art frames with that fireball too and the expressions!
Everything about this is phenomenal, kudos on one of the best animatics I've seen period!! From the expert audio balancing and dialog cuts to the perfect depiction of the flow of combat, truly a fantastic work all around. 10/10.
That was absolutely incredible. 15/10. Amazing editing on the audio, illustrations are sooooo goood. I loved it. Like a dream come true. The actual animated adventures of Critical Role!!!
This is incredible, this fight was a top moment for me in the second campaign I still go back and watch these episodes often. You nailed the feel and I love how you mixed the audio between lines and Matt’s descriptions, so well done!
This is incredible! You did an amazing job! This is how I pictured it and it’s still even better! Thank you for this moment in the campaign and for your talent!
I had a feeling something BIG was coming from your channel since you haven't posted in two years before this was dropped. I can see why you waited, and it was 100% worth the wait! Incredible job! The audio mixing from different parts of the fight was expertly done, and the animating was tight, fast, and clean as sin! You did a marvelous job!
I love how you layered the audio on top of each other to really sell the feeling of urgency and desperation. This whole fight was intense! And you’ve conveyed it perfectly. Truly amazing!
Great job. This is awesome. The visualization of the spells and the blood on weapon hits are amazing. Keep up the great work. Also I kinda hope for a part two of this.
Wow! This is stunning! I can’t believe I caught this within the first couple days, what an absolute masterpiece! Smooth where it needs to be smooth, jumps perfectly with comedic timing, perfectly accurate down to every minute detail of what’s actually going on. This is incredible!!
So badass, thank you for bringing the turn by turn wildness of this HISTORIC battle to life. Such a great job, thanks for your effort and contribution to the community!
That was crazy amount of work! All the sounds and action, all is packed so close, so densely. Massive 1.5 hour fight translated into perfect animated action scene! Of the top-tier CR animatics for sure, this is huge!
Honestly one of the best fights they ever had. Cinematic and wonderful. Who can forget all the minis on the ship getting knocked over!? Great video, I like the audio mix
I’ve seen a lot of animatics and I must say this was my favorite, just for the creative choices in audio layering, style consistency, and overall timing of scenes. Great work!
Awesome! Very well done! Visuals are fantastic. Love the fluid movements, especially for Nott slipping up and out of that guards grip. Audio editing is also great.
The whole thing?! Wow! God, this was a great fight. How awesome to see it laid out visually. Thank you for all the time and effort this must have taken, it was a real treat to watch!
Holy SHIT!! This is so long and so well done, with all the cool dodges and attacks animated!! Bravo, 10/10! Thank you for animating one of thr most iconic fights in the campaign :DD
this animation made me finally realize how cool Yasha is with a two-handed sword, because for some reason before this I thought two handed swords were goofy. How wrong I was
Holy SCHNITZEL the amount of WORK that went into this. Its amazing to see another instant classic from you. Too many things to list. The quality in each frame, the amount of frames, the length, each character design, the way you portray moves being taken, the fluid cinematography you make from minis on a map and narration, the fucking EDITING to omfg. You crammed 3 hours of combat into a crisp (but still very long) 8 minute fight scene that felt like 30 seconds with how fast it wizzed by, it really captured the heart pumping action. God its so much. Love the way you spliced and blended narration and descriptions into the animation itself, so CRAZY. Your work is incredible, thanks for this treat
holy hell this is amazing had me gripping the edge of my seat. wonderfully done, for real take a break and recharge, looking forward to the next project
Caleb gets knocked out, wakes up, casts fireball and blows up the enemy ship, and immediately goes back down from the flashback. Glass cannon indeed
The quintessential wizard. Wields the power of battle ending artillery but crumbles like wet paper when bonked on the head a little too hard.
This fight was ICONIC, and you captured the action so well! From Caleb casting Wall of Fire to Fjord summoning the balgura, I got nostalgic chills!
I can't waitm to see this scene animated in the series! GONNA BE LIT!!!
I know that if the Monkey Paw is listening, lol. This scene setup really shows the action. You should be highlighted if/when they use it for ideas. Great work.
The flaming boots for Caleb's expeditious retreat were a great touch
That’s the moment that always sticks with me for this animation.
It’s all great, but I love seeing the creative flairs for each spell cast
Love the fade from Misty Step!
Fucking excellent audio layering. The selected audio was choice, and the decision to layer what was being said was a perfect way of keeping combat moving quickly and showing how things were happening simultaneously. This must have been a massive undertaking. Cool shit.
agree fully
I can only imagine how much time and effort it took to make this 😱
The last scene was partially animated 2 years ago (last vid).
So my guess is: a ton.
Coming from you that's saying a lot
Bro the Barlgura animation was FUCKING SICK!
Jester's heart eyepatch in her pirate disguise was *chef's kiss*
The little blush on Beau when Jester put her hand on her waist was a cute touch.
I forgot half my education but I still remember this fight *vividly* .
Expertly done, *GJ!* o7
From the M9's individualized colors to the fire and blood, this was just a beautiful piece of art.
3:00 I love how Caleb face plants to the ground! 😂 ouch! 🤕
This is the one scene I can't wait for in the animated series
Yeah this scene is gonna be nuts
This is probably one of my favourite moments in CR, and I love that you were able to condense it into an 8 minute video, and give us visuals. Also going through and cutting up all the audio as well.
fantastic! I love the various ways you visualized the spells, and I also love how you intercut the dialogue! makes the scene much more frenetic :D
I have to say, I have never seen a better DnD fight depiction in animation before. The background description of the fight just adds to it. Great job. Can't wait what they do in the TV show. Hope it's at least this good ;)
the audio editing on this is FANTASTIC, it really adds to the effect of "this is all happening simultaneously"
The blush on Beau when Jester grabs her is a good touch
dude this is PHENOMENAL. i love the way you spliced together the descriptions of what they're doing, it rly adds an extra layer to this. and the spells, the movements, everything is so fluid! you've earned my sub!
This is the most detailed animation I've seen of this scene. Everything is just so perfect.
I love your Nott design! :D She looks so agile and dynamic, and you captured her movement excellently!
EIGHT MINUTES?!!? And it's so good, you chose an excellent battle and brought it to life so well! The narration and music and everything works so well here! Amazing job!
The way you let lines and the DM lines merge was beautiful and super cool. Not to mention the animatic in general. Very well done
This fight was fantastic! I love your turning narrative flair like arrows through a shield into awesome visuals.
You've created such haste and urgency with this, not just the animation, but also your choice in cuts and editing. Fantastic, well done!
You have grabbed their identities so well! Super impressed with your artistic skills, and your audio choices were spot on. Thank you!
I forget how fucking smart the team was during this fight like they handled the scenario so intelligently and it makes me weirdly emotional cause the team dynamic is PHENOMENAL
That audio compositing was a mountain to climb and you bore a roller-coaster through it all. Great job!
The extra combat frames were so good, I liked the variable action when needed! Good sign of knowing what to animate and split your time into. Some wicked art frames with that fireball too and the expressions!
Hot damn this is so dynamic I LOVE it :D

This must’ve taken an incredible level of patience to craft but I hope you know it turned out beautifully, can’t wait to see more from you
I just finished ep43 about a week ago!
This is so awesome, you truly do great work!
This might be my FAVORITE fight of C2 and this animation brought back all the excitement of watching it the first time!
I have never seen dnd combat captured so perfectly in an animatic like this!! The audio editing alone is remarkable. This is AMAZING
Everything about this is phenomenal, kudos on one of the best animatics I've seen period!! From the expert audio balancing and dialog cuts to the perfect depiction of the flow of combat, truly a fantastic work all around. 10/10.
You are SO GOOD at storyboarding these fight scenes, amazing work! I catch new fun little details each time I rewatch
Amazing work! You captured that scene beautifully.
...Holy hell, what a masterpiece. Hard to fathom how much time and effort you must have put in for it, but if the result is anything to go by, my god.
This was one of my favorite battles from all of critical role, so intense and vivid! This is my new favorite video! Thank you!!!
The layering, the colors, the way you’ve masterfully mixed the sounds, and the animation! This is a masterful 8 minutes of beautiful work
That was absolutely incredible. 15/10. Amazing editing on the audio, illustrations are sooooo goood. I loved it. Like a dream come true. The actual animated adventures of Critical Role!!!
best animation of this scene i’ve seen so far. absolutely incredible.
Also, I love how you've got everything woven together here. Double that for Jester's little heart eyepatch. Iconic.
That was absolutely one of the coolest M9 animations I’ve ever seen. It was so wonderfully executed. Well done!
Holy shit this was so well done! I love the way you cut in the cast described what was happening while it happened, simply beautiful
I've been waiting for an animated adaptation of this fight since I saw it live 4 years ago
Thank you very much!
I love how you layered the audio on top of each other to really sell the feeling of urgency and desperation. This whole fight was intense! And you’ve conveyed it perfectly. Truly amazing!
Incredible! I comment your talent and patience to not only draw, but mix the audio in perfectly as well!
I am here and present for ALL OF THIS! You did amazing!!! The angles, the facial expressions the effects are all just mwah mwah mwah!

This was epic! Definitely worth a sub! From one CR fan and animator to another, great job!
The animation is the Veth and Avantika bit is so good!!!

Amazingly done! The animation capture all of the actions and emotions of the moment! 10/10
This sequence was so epic. Insane how Fjord rolled a natural 20 to persuade to blame Avantica leading to her getting choked in front of everyone.
Incredible!! Remarkable! Cant imagine how long this took.
This whole video rocks, but I *love* Nott/Veth’s scuffle with Avantika. The motion of the stabs, dodges, and the follow up slash look so nice
So badass, thank you for bringing the turn by turn wildness of this HISTORIC battle to life. Such a great job, thanks for your effort and contribution to the community!
Wall of Fire, Dimension Door, and Balgura were such hype moments
I’ve seen bits of this fight animated before, but this one takes the cake!
Never thought I'd see the whole scene animated like this, I love the designs and action so much
This might be one of the best Avantika depictions I've seen. Strong character design overall too!
That was crazy amount of work! All the sounds and action, all is packed so close, so densely. Massive 1.5 hour fight translated into perfect animated action scene!
Of the top-tier CR animatics for sure, this is huge!
Amazing, with all the little details! My favorite is Jesters pirate disguise self with the heart eye patch. She'd do just that, awesome!
Holy SHIT that animatic was so good, now I'm just desperate to see the tension of the Plank Kings judgement done like this too
Honestly one of the best fights they ever had. Cinematic and wonderful. Who can forget all the minis on the ship getting
knocked over!? Great video, I like the audio mix
i will never forget when marisha said there's a U burned into the ship from her trying to summon Uk'otoa
I’ve seen a lot of animatics and I must say this was my favorite, just for the creative choices in audio layering, style consistency, and overall timing of scenes. Great work!
I’m watching this the same day they announced a MN animated show. I’m even more excited now!
Awesome! Very well done! Visuals are fantastic. Love the fluid movements, especially for Nott slipping up and out of that guards grip. Audio editing is also great.
Holy shit! The idea to add Matt's description on top is amazing!
One of my all time favorite scenes, thank you for animating it so beautifully
Absolutely brilliant effort. This captured the fight so well. The first ive seen of your works but now, not the last. Well done.

Holy SHIT!! This is so long and so well done, with all the cool dodges and attacks animated!! Bravo, 10/10! Thank you for animating one of thr most iconic fights in the campaign :DD
I just watched this episode yesterday! This is fucking amazing and is pretty close to what I pictured in my mind as they were describing the scene!
this animation made me finally realize how cool Yasha is with a two-handed sword, because for some reason before this I thought two handed swords were goofy. How wrong I was
What a great fight and what an exceptional animatic for it. Great work
Oh my god this was absolutely incredible!! Fantastic work. :D
The somatic component Liam described for Wall of Fire is so FUCKING GOOOOOOOD
This is crazy good well done. The amount of work put in looks crazy
This fight is honestly my best example of "a DM has to be ready to improv because you have no clue what the players are going to do". BALGURA.
WHAT an absolutely gorgeous way to honour such a legendary fight scene. Your skills are amazing
Holy SCHNITZEL the amount of WORK that went into this. Its amazing to see another instant classic from you. Too many things to list.
