Really impressive how well you’ve used the quirks of this medium to great advantage in the art you created. Also great tips ! Would never have believed that Iris was colored using markers and of any kind!
Great review! It's much more helpful when the reviewer has actually painted with the medium and tried lots of techniques. I have a few of these markers, and wasn't terribly impressed at first because I haven't really used watercolor markers before and because they're so staining. But now you've given us a roadmap on how to use these in multiple ways, I'm looking forward to playing with them. It's be a great way to use some of the hot press papers in my stash that I never use :) Thanks!
I just subed to your channel. I've been on the fence ordering more of these markers for over two years now. You have won me over with the very best review I've been in search off for so long a great big thank you. You didn't miss anything !! 💚💛🧡💙 you covered and answered every question ,concern, paper, older vs new markers you covered it all!! I love the blue jay and the Iris is so beautiful 😍. A aging thank you so much now off to order on blick.
Thank you so much ! I'm so glad to hear someone really enjoyed my review and got what they needed from it 🙂 makes all the long hours filming and editing worth it 🤗
Wish I saw this earlier since I nearly ruined first page of my watercolor journal recently lol. I really liked watercolor markers and was so glad to discover your tips. All so I can keep using them and hopefully not ruin any more papers.
@@DeafGamer10 that is correct. You can also try a watercolor lift aid. Qor makes one and I think WN too. But I find this gum arabic solution works well. You can even increase it to a quarter dilution if you need more working time. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. l'm glad to help anyway I can. 😊
Thanks for the thorough review! They are pricey, but you are paying for professional materials that will last. I may keep an eye out for a good sale sometime :)
Thanks for these healpful video. I have reacently bought the six colours set and for me it’s something completely new. I would like to ask more about the propertties of using or not using the arabic gum, because I didn’t understand it’s use. I will subscribe to your channel. Greetins from Buenos Aires!
Thanks so much for watching. So gum Arabic is the binder in watercolor . You can also use it as a medium with your watercolor to control the spred of watercolor , slow the drying time and increase transparency and gloss . If you use too much though it's not a good thing and you won't be able to get many layers . However here I used it diluted heavily with water as a primer for the paper . I applied the wash , let it dry and then worked on my paper with the markers as normal. It helped the colors lift and reactivate better IMO. Just a technique you can try out if you like . If you have any more questions ask away 🙂 and thanks so much for subscribing!
I would say years . Probably 5 years at least . Depends on how often you use them . But I think they will certainly last long enough to finish up the product.
@@ladanmohammadi2247 as far as I know the Winsor Newton watercolor markers only come in sets up to 12 . But the whole line of wn watercolor markers are AP certified. No genuine cadmiums, cobalts or anything like that 🙂 they couldn't use heavy metals or heavy minerals based pigments because it wouldn't flow and would clog the nib .
@@ladanmohammadi2247 are you sure it's the same markers ? Because Winsor Newton does have several lines of markers available . Some are alcohol markers .

Loved your review. Just found these and wanted to know more. One gentle suggestion,
your hand movements are very, very distracting.
Thanks so much !
