To anyone whos trying to do this in 2023, I just completed it in 6.3 for the first time and here are some notes on my journey that I hope can help others. 1.This WILL take a long time. For me, I had to play for about 3-4 days straight (had a 24 hours session at one point), but I was trying to get the weapon done asap. If you passively farm for poetics, gc seals, and other materials mentioned in the video by doing dailies, then it'll feel a lot less grindy then what I went through. 2. This IS ABSOLUTELY solo-able, so don't worry if you have anyone to help you or not though having people on hand would obviously make some small details quicker (such as grinding the Born Again Anima quest) however I didn't have any help and got by just fine. 3. If you plan on getting your weapon as soon as possible POETICS WILL BE THE DEATH OF YOU!!! A really good method I found for farming poetics was queueing for the dungeon: Baelsar's Wall, and casting for all of the loot that dropped. The purpose of this is to get 100 poetics from completing the dungeon, and trading in the gear that drops for gc seals. You can do other dungeons like this too, but the good thing about Baelsar's Wall is that in my experience there was almost always an instant queue (for healer) and most people aren't going to be farming that dungeon for glamour as it is a bit older and outdated compared to the glamours in SHB or even STMB. After you're done with gc seals however, Eureka, Zadnor, or Bojza would be best for poetics alone. If you do not have access to these then the Aetherochemical Research Facility will probably be your best bet. 4. In the video, Desperius mentioned talking to the "cat lady" for a weekly quest to help with step 4 "Finding Your Voice", however this quest is unfortunately no longer available (I found this out the hard way lol) 5. LUCKILY, the final step mentioned in the video (the quest quest "Best Friends Forever") IS NO LONGER REQUIRED TO GET THE OTHER STAGES OF THE ANIMA AS GLAMOUR! After you complete "Born Again Anima", all you have to do is talk to the Restoration Node npc in Azys La (X:7.1 Y:11.2) and you will be able to purchase the previous stages for 100-140 gill each (depending on the replica you seek to obtain.) Overall I do not regret this grind. They're not omega weapons of course, but I think the weapons are a really cool thing to stand out with and to show your commitment to the game. Again I literally JUST completed this 2 mins before writing this, so these are my thoughts fresh off of the journey. I hope they can help someone and good luck to everyone who's looking to grind for their anima weapon : )
Just did my first Anima weapom too and I had the same experience right down to poetics will be the death of you. I found it funny that at onepoint you're always capped on poetics with nothing to do with them, then struggling to get a mere 40 for one more singing cluster. Also soloing is for sure possible but doing some of the later stages like a9s light grind is a ball ache to do on a tank (and healer?) unless you have 1-2 friends to help. For sure soloable just takes a bit longer.
Thanks for the write up. This is definitely a lot different than the ARR grind. That shit was whack but HW is one big time gate if you aren't actively or been passively working on it.
Desperius!!! I had to drop a note to say thanks for the excellent anima weapon guides. I finally finished my first one TODAY!!! My usual two buddies that play were super busy, so I ended up Solo grinding A1S on my own. You only get a Robust charge, but I was able to consistently clear in 1:45 on my NIN. Ended up being not too bad, so I recommend as a potential alternative!!

If you don’t have scrips, 5 thavnarian must and 5 superior enchanted ink is the best poetics trade for blue crystal sand; however, if you’ve got spare company seals that aren’t being used anyway, 5 moonstones is an okay trade. Also, if you don’t want to use seals or tomes, and you’ve got Gil to burn, it’s probably the least efficient trades, but I tend to find the extreme trial crafting material and demimateria trades are the best Gil trades.
I dunno, I think white scrips are pretty dang effortless to do. Run your custom delivery and you get thousands of free scrips to throw at Crystal sand every week.
4. Finding your Voice: The repeatable quest isn't a weekly locked quest for The Gift of the Archmagus. It is repeatable without a weekly lock. As soon as you run all 3 ARR raids and turn it in you can pick up the quest to work towards more aether oil.
This is why letting poetics max out is equal to shooting yourself in the foot. A new player finishing ARR got max ironworks gear and don't know what to spend poetics on. Umbrite

First of all props to your amazing dancing Performances! And yeah, I did those steps multiple times and knew that I went super overboard with Special Arms stuff for preparation, so it was just the grinding down part. The materials can all be gotten in advance, to be fair. Myself, when I ran out of other things to spend Poetics on, I bought all the required mats in the order of the steps/quests they are required for.
You cant Pre-farm the Singing Clusters from the daily or weekly quest from the 2 sisters without having made it to the Future Proof step already. So until you make your first anima weapon you can only pre-buy the clusters with Tomes. But since getting to them and doing both quest gives you 19 Clusters, you only have to pre-buy 31 Singing Clusters with Tomes for the first Anima weapon. After the first weapon is done, then you can slow grind 25 Clusters a week between the Weekly quest that gives 18 and the daily quest that gives 1 every day. Save your Tomes for the other stuff. Also you showed it in your chart but you never said it so easy to skip over. You can get the Unidentified junk from the Heavensward beast tribes, Vanu, Vath, and Moogle. And also from The Hunt Billmasters for Allied Seals. I really want the Vanu mount so thatll be easy to stock up a couple extra. Takes 6 beast coins and can only get 3 per day per tribe so its very slow but can get some that way to save some Tomes.
The part I'm having the most trouble with is the Unidentifiable items. I'm trying to get all the Relic achievements so I need enough of these items for every weapon, yet I'm going to need to grind Tomes or Gordion like 1200 times to afford it all.
I like doing the arr beast tribe quests for the unidentifiable materials; 3 turn ins gets you one material, which is a nice alternative to grinding 150 poetics,. So, 10 days of grinding to get all 40. If you did these quests in the past you might have a stockpile of beast currency to speed this step up
Thanks! I was referencing your old guide got my Bard and looking for a shiny relic for my Paladin. Eventually I may go for the red aesthetic of the POTD weapon, but I love the Anima and OG Zodiac Relics for PLD. I am currently saving mats now. You can get some from GC seals. Helps. But it certainly is a grind for the poetics and the Sand. Cand wait
For solo Light grind I suggest brayflox's longstop hard. With some practice I speedrun this dungeon in like 2:30-3:00 for easy 32 to 64 light per run. It take around 2-3h of mindless goblin-slaughter. Not as fast as A9S but still an option. Also if you are on bozjan relic step with alexander raid grind - consider doing them together.
The other nice thing about Brayflox's longstop hard is it's accessible for lower level players who want to do it solo. That's what I did with my lvl 73 pld. It was my first job and I wanted that relic right away
If you're at lv90 and have decent gear (570ish) its easy to solo a9s unsynced (Alexander eyes of the creator (savage) ), as a 585 paladin I was able to do a run in 3:40ish with no worries at all.
Good to know---thank you. I am now confident that I can do the light farming stage with one other person. I'm getting the WHM weapon first, so it'd be rough to solo A9S. X)
A9S is easily soloable in endwalker (did it with dragoon lv90), that was basically what I was waiting to finish mine Also, it would be nice to add a note saying which steps are not repeatable (if any), I can't for the life of me find that information so I just ended up stocking everything again for my second weapon
As much as you can do it solo I really recommend you run it with a group in PF. We managed to hit 0:59 as a 5 dps group ( me 80, others 90) And 1:15 as 3 dps ( me 80, others 90). Barely takes over 30 mins now
@@WiseFatOwl I mean.. sure, but some people don't have groups to do it with; or simply don't want to bother waiting on others. One minute vs 3-5 minutes is really nothing, and people should be aware they can solo it if they choose.
As good as a guide this is, preparation is part of the run since that is time also put into creating the weapon. You can't disregard preparation as being part of the stage. still, really useful.
I literally just have collected stuff for 2-3 more weapons already, it is easily done without much effort, that is why I summed up all the stuff you need to prepare in advance
@@DesperiusFFXIV I feel you missed my point. You said your time was 3hrs and 48mins but does that include the time it took for you to collect the items to "prepare" ? Because collecting those items takes time as well.
A9s is highy preferable though because you can do it under 1 hour. It just depends on how much grinding ur willing to put up with, but usually with 5-20 minute of PF gathering you can clear the run after the party is formed. But you're right, A1S is highly soloable especially with level 90 gear and char. You can also clear A9s solo at at the same time. I play drg and found that both are viable for solo runs.
I might give the grind another go. Stopped after moving thru maybe 3rd or 4th levels on BLM and WAR, but this was during early ShB days. Thanks for this consolidated guide 👍
hi! I just want to say thank you! your video showcasing all the anima weapons inspired me to get them all. And is true, after you do it once all you need is some prep work and it becomes really easy with the exception of the anima glass part 🤮 So far i have dnc, sch, mch, brd, pld but i am sick of doing dungeons atm so I'm taking some time off meanwhile I get materials and poetics.
Did you mean the DNC resistance weapon? Dnc isn’t a part of the anima relic series. For the anima weapons I did mch, brd, war, pld, nin, drg, and drk during the content drought between Stormblood and Shadowbringers.
I can't decide what class I wanna do these for lol. I main Reaper, and in Endwalker I haven't found myself playing much else yet, only having levelled Dragoon as the class I did the story with, and Summoner as my other level 90 classes. Out of all the classes I have that were around in Heavensward I wanna do Warrior, Summoner and Dragoon. I also wanna get Machinist, hit 90 on that and get the relic for that to. Basically, they all look good and I don't know what I wanna get first.
I am actually grinding up my jobs to get all of them to Level 60. I already got the first relic step for Scholar, Summoner, Monk, Paladin and Black Mage. Now grinding up Warrior and Ninja. Been hitting Palace of the Dead and trying to sprinkle in dungeons and roulettes when I can but still a bit tedious.
So close to being a perfect tutorial, except for the fact you are talking as if the person watching has already completed all of this. You keep talking about spending poetics on items, but never at any point actually tell us WHERE they are sold. What NPC sells us the items for poetics? That's literally the entire point of the video, and you somehow rambled for 8 and a half minutes to get ad revenue without actually mentioning it. Most I got was a 5 second clip that was far too zoomed in to actually see where they were. Your tutorials require me to go to other tutorials and checking the wiki to understand it. When you reference NPCs or quests, you need to tell us WHERE they are.
not sure how you are supposed to do this in a day when you cant get all 40 unidentifiable items in a day much less under 4hrs unless all you do is the quest because youd be farming tomes
Fun fact, even still, 3 hours of poetic grinding and 3 hours of the Anima weapon quest line isn’t going to be enough for most people. If there’s anyone out there that can comfortably get this whole quest line done in 6 hours… then wow
@@tylerriesermusicWell that depends, do we count the preparation phase (gathering materials ahead of starting the quest)? If not, I can see someone getting it done in 6 hours. Only real problem will be light farming but I've found that doing Brayflox Longstop (Hard) is a fast alternative that takes 6 runs to fill one symbol each. It's far easier and faster than running a solo savage raid in my opinion
@@DesperiusFFXIV It takes time to get the poetics needed to get all the necessary items. You can't get all the poetics necessary in less than four hours and then complete all the steps in that amount of time too. When you uploaded this video, I thought they had changed something in Endwalker for this relic grind. I have six anima relic weapons and completed one just before Endwalker hit. So your video is complete clickbait. There's no way you can do a complete anima relic grind in less than four hours unless you have all the items needed before hand. And even then... It's going to take the average person a couple hours to get it all done.
@@blarghit9789 Look, he already apologized, stop calling his videos clickbait. That's rude. Clickbait is when the video creator WANTS you to watch his video, usually some trashy flick. But Desperius was TRYING to help people and even if it takes longer than expected, you had no obligation to keep watching. X( I'm not trying to start a brawl here, but I refuse to believe that Desperius was that desperate to get views.
@@cicisstormshelter1076 It's clickbait... The title is misleading. The title is there to get you to click on the video. That's what clickbait is. I'm tired of clickbait videos from this community and the lack of originality. All to get that TH-cam money... Especially when you already have videos on this topic. The title starts off as "Updated." There are no updates in this video. None... "Updated" would suggest there were changes to this grind in Endwalker. This is why I clicked on the video in the first place... This is like Work To Game making multiple videos on the best way to level your fishing in Shadowbringers and intentionally making one of those videos 10 minutes long. Even though the video could be cut by 9 minutes by telling people just to buy fish from the mb and use leves. But at least they were open about making the video just to get TH-cam money. It's the same with their coffee biscuit videos. The content creating part of this FFXIV community is bad. Outside of Ashe10 and Mithrie, it's like 100 people all making videos on the same topic. Saying the same thing and hoping their videos are shiny enough to beat out the competition.
I know I'm late to the video, but for all hardset FT players: this is still possible... in a reasonable but not fast amount of time. I started my BRD relic in mid January and based on my current progress, I'll be finished around mid March. If you end up not spending poetics on the unidentifiable items, you will probably reach r6 or r7 with all three HW beast tribes by the time you gather enough currency. R7 gives you a cool mount, title, and emote. Free win. For the other part, you can level up four crafters and both gatherers to 60 to begin white scrip farming for both crystal sand and the other half of the unidentifiables step. The Aliapoh custom delivery 6/week gives enough white scrips (at max quality) to buy the 5 blue scrips for that crystal sand option, and the other crafted collectibles give about 1/3 of that amount regardless of quality and have no lockouts (but are harder to craft). If I see this get any traction, I'll add more tips as I finish the grind.
@@zackfair6203 Not sure, maybe you do. I'm at them right now. Hismena sells the items for poetics, and Sabina sells the items for Precision Gordian drops from Alexander.
Yep, if you spend around 10,000 poetics before hand, it only takes a few hours. Except the point is that 10,00 poetics takes an incredibly long time to grind. Not hard, just boring and time consuming.
@@sjwhater no. As he said almost literally in the beginning of the video the 'speedrun' refers to the part of the grind that can be speedrun. Also, literally every relic weapon takes preparation, so calling it bs just because it takes preparation is short sighted.
you DIDN'T clear ALL the requirements to complete the relic in that time, because you forget that the item requirements to PREPARE is literally THOUSANDS of tomes which takes a relatively much LONGER time to grind, this is terrible content and misleading.

Because collecting those items takes time as well.
instead of a9s you can just solo a1s like 40 times, its a 3minute clear, you can also expert provision the accessories for 1.1k each
A9s is highy preferable though because you can do it under 1 hour.
Good to know, thank you for the info !
A9S with 3 dps is 1 min. PFs are still active on these.
Where it wasn't 4 hours, with this I did a complete HW relic in about 24 hours, started late Friday and finished late Saturday night.
Ty I’m a new bard player and love bow style. I’ll be farming this soon enough I’m lvl 74 atm
Step 4 quest not weekly anymore u can literally rush it in like 5 runs one after another.
Oh nice, that is good to know for those wanting to save these Poetics, thanks 👍
@@acatssoftnose3940 no. Oil one with arr alliance's raids
The quest in Mor Dhona for the Aether Oil is not weekly tho. You can do it as much as you want.
@@timothy_f OH sorry not dnc, i think i have the shiryuo lvl 70 weapon. I dont know why i wrote dnc. There are no anima weapons for dnc unfortunately.
Am I the only one who feels more confused after watching any of Desperius guides?
For anyone in need of poetics just join Hunt trains or do bozja, best ways to get a lot of poetics once you are done with your roulettes
You have Aether Oil listed for 1500 for 5, but I can only find the oil for 350 each, making the total cost 1750. Otherwise the video is a good guide
Got all the materials needed minus the Ink..and I’m set to get my Anima weapon heheh Though I am a little confused about that sand allocate thingy..
Anima weapon are still as u sad one of the best looking relic weapons
I do, just have to figure some stuff out for it in advance 😊👍
I thought Future Proof is final Anima weapon quest. Now I know I was wrong...
😉👍
I am actually grinding up my jobs to get all of them to Level 60. I already got the first relic step for Scholar, Summoner, Monk, Paladin and Black Mage. Now grinding up Warrior and Ninja. Been hitting Palace of the Dead and trying to sprinkle in dungeons and roulettes when I can but still a bit tedious.
Do you have a guide for the law order weapons
I have the bug and I try everything, but nothing works 😭
Can do it even faster if you have a zodiac weapon for the same job, just swap that instead of doing the fates at the start
If you're doing it for the first time and watching all the cutscenes its more like 8 hours ngl, but this was pretty handy, thanks!
Step 5 makes no sense like what are those items?
I never planned on getting a HW relic, but then I Fantasia 'd 👴
DRK is my mana tank of choice and the red and purple are too fitting with my WoL.
Took 3 days. Had to get DRK to 90 and GSM to 80 from 55~.
Glad it's over haha....
I thought all blue scrips were removed.
You can still buy them from the scrip exchange
not sure how you are supposed to do this in a day when you cant get all 40 unidentifiable items in a day much less under 4hrs unless all you do is the quest because youd be farming tomes
Fun fact. It does NOT take only a few hours to get an anima weapon. It's a lie.
He literally says in the video that it takes extra time for preparation...
Fun fact, OP did not pay attention to the video at all
Fun fact, even still, 3 hours of poetic grinding and 3 hours of the Anima weapon quest line isn’t going to be enough for most people. If there’s anyone out there that can comfortably get this whole quest line done in 6 hours… then wow
I'm with OP on this... this takes a wild amount of time
@@tylerriesermusicWell that depends, do we count the preparation phase (gathering materials ahead of starting the quest)? If not, I can see someone getting it done in 6 hours. Only real problem will be light farming but I've found that doing Brayflox Longstop (Hard) is a fast alternative that takes 6 runs to fill one symbol each. It's far easier and faster than running a solo savage raid in my opinion
Hi! Thank you for the guide! What is the chestpeace on 1:42?
If you never found an answer it's the neo-ishgardian top of fending.
Working on the relic for my mch next but im still getting the materials before i start on the quest so i can turn it in one go xD
how do you get blue scrips now? all i get all purple/white scrips from deliveries
I knew this was going to be clickbait the moment I clicked on it and boy was I right LOL
Why clickbait? I literally completed it in that time? If you prepare the Poetics stuff you can do it even faster 😪
I'm not trying to start a brawl here, but I refuse to believe that Desperius was that desperate to get views.
@@blarghit9789 Then stop watching TH-cam. Nobody is forcing you to watch videos.
I finished my on-hold relic just to get the message that I have to redistribute the stats because of systems changes, what do?
Hey dudes what is the quickest relic weapon to get for a warrior?
This one. Anima. Quickest for all classes introduced before Stormblood.
How do you unlock the quest seeking inspiration? I don’t have it and no one has covered it 😮💨
I have a question. What are the advantages you get for completing another anima relic? Are some steps skipped or have reduce cost?
You are basically more powerful now, being a level 90 character. Someone already added, that they could beat the A9S Boss as Dragoon solo
No advantage. You have to do everything again step by step for the new class. The only change is the dialogue.
sad no rdm or reaper weapon
Where exactly can you buy the materials needed? Im in Idyleshire but I have completely different things to buy from the woman in the middle of Rowenas
If you mean the Unidentifiable items, you talk to Hismena in Idyllshire, under Allagan Tomestones of Poetics (Special Arms).
@@mr.emonkey6734 strangely I was there but the unidentifiable items weren't shown. Do you need to get the assignment first so they show up?
@@zackfair6203 Not sure, maybe you do. I'm at them right now. Hismena sells the items for poetics, and Sabina sells the items for Precision Gordian drops from Alexander.
This all stages with all quests (1st time running thru timer?)
If you prepare the Poetics stuff from the list in advance, yes it is 👍
Yep, if you spend around 10,000 poetics before hand, it only takes a few hours. Except the point is that 10,00 poetics takes an incredibly long time to grind. Not hard, just boring and time consuming.
You still need tons of poetics zzzzz passively does not make it faster
No patience, no relic. Simple as that.
@@SomeoneNr9 So ''speedrun'' word is just a bs.
@@sjwhater no. As he said almost literally in the beginning of the video the 'speedrun' refers to the part of the grind that can be speedrun. Also, literally every relic weapon takes preparation, so calling it bs just because it takes preparation is short sighted.
@@SomeoneNr9 Title is misleading and clickbait. its bs
@@sjwhater Again, it's not bs, you are just missing the point, but I will not waste my time arguing any further. Buh-bye.
I am at the free trial doing this💀
Dude nonoffence but wtf can you explain better and show mapnwere we need to go youbtalk fast and show zone whitought saying the location
Lets gooooo
Faster than that crappy atma gathering LORD.i hate atma
you DIDN'T clear ALL the requirements to complete the relic in that time, because you forget that the item requirements to PREPARE is literally THOUSANDS of tomes which takes a relatively much LONGER time to grind, this is terrible content and misleading.
Yeah, it's complete clickbait... It's going to take days to get all the poetics.
That is exactly the point here, I guess? Sorry if I wasted your time
Idk man. I have poetics parts all done. I think i have enough for 2 weapons even lol. I cap out on poetics so fast.
Light farming is way longer for a causal solo player took forever and so boring
You spelled enema wrong
