    Features I didn't mention (trying to keep video short):
    diag pin jumpers, to allow for sensorless homing
    RGB LED header
    microSD card
    automotive fuses
    really great labeling on back/silkscreen labels

    Cheers for the video, gave me a lot to think about for future upgrades. Well-explained, mate.

    Can't wait to see this go into the voron.
    Thnx for the video!

    Great walk through. I have the original Octopus in my first Rat Rig and am building a second one using the Octopus Pro. I was looking for information on how to hook up the Pi via UART, and think I am getting close to figuring it out.

    Nice vidéo, thanX.
    Hope to see installation and configurations for your nice Purple Voron 2.4!

    Hands down the best go through of this board i have seen. Earned a sub from me. Looking forward to the 2.4 install as thats what im building and i purchased that same board.

    No, the board does NOT have 8 stepper motor drivers, it has none!
    What it has 8 of are SLOTS for 8 stepper motor drivers, so you can (if you have them) insert up to 8 stepper drivers, big difference! (I know what you are going to say, but not everyone has prior knowledge on that stuff, and when that freaking board came the other day, and I realized I need to wait at least another week until I can actually DO anything with it, I was pi55ed!) So please, a little attention to details!
    Other than that, great video! Thank you!

    So I have 0cto 1.1 but I have a 24v power supply and heated bed. Everything else is 12v. Can I run it all safely ?

    Didn’t know you had a TH-cam channel!

    Kind of wish I had waited for this board to come out. I put the E3 RRF with IDEX expansion in my IDEX build. Another stepper controller would be nice for my z axis

    Love my octopus in my voron2.4, but I can't get the probe pin to work with my VINDA and have to use a end stop pin

    Hi, I would like to ask you?
    I have 7 servo motors with Delta Asda B2 and B3 controllers and want to connect to Octopus 1.1. How can I do that? Thanks

    Would it be possible to add ethernet to this board through the UART or SPI? Wired connection to RPi would be more reliable than wireless.

    • @JoshMurrah
      @JoshMurrah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      well if you have wired connection to the Rpi then you can use ethernet on the Pi right?

    • @alfredanil
      @alfredanil 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoshMurrah There is no ethernet on Octopus board, it has CANBUS though.

    • @JoshMurrah
      @JoshMurrah  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      right - I thought your concern was having a wired connection to the pi? UART or SPI are wired connections, just direct connection instead of network.

      @@JoshMurrah Well, my RPi server is about 20 meters away from the printer so ethernet connection would be the best choice. My question is if there is a breakout board that can connect the Octopus to the RPi server through ethernet?

    • @JoshMurrah
      @JoshMurrah  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, I see! I don't have any solid answer for you on that one - actually my best answer for that would be to just do a 20 meter USB cable, but do they make them that long? Sorry, that's the best I have. I'm not sure any 3dp firmware would support a breakout board even if there was one.
