the man who killed Grisha's sister looking directly at the audience was something intentional by the author. He's looking directly at us when he says that humans crave cruelty and violence, so when he gets eaten we don't even realize most of us are proving his point RIGHT by cheering for his gruesome death.
Very true. We like seeing Scouts and Warriors in action, we like seeing the conflict in the story that the narrative brings us, and we love seeing the 9 Titans battle it out against it alongside each other, loving to explore and debate their abilities.
Fun for us, dangerous and essential for the characters within the show itself.
Life is meant to be do or die every single day but the civilization changed it. Our brains got smaller in the past 10 thousands years because each individual has to struggle and learn less to stay alive.

Zeke's as Eldian as Eren, he's just affiliated with Marley because he's been raised and indoctrinated in 'homeland' but they're basically the same ethnicity, just different nationalities. No one knows the true history but we can assume parts of both are true, which also makes it worse because theirs no clear aggressor, everyone's just a victim of history in this cruel world. There's so much in this universe that's purposely vague.

@@secondeye1574 there’s no doubt that Eldians oppressed other races and Marleyans, but I still think Marleys version of history is over exaggerated as a way to downplay Marleys own wrongdoings as they’re basically a present day Eldian Empire. This is just what I think but the interpretation is different for everyone :)

yeah marley's version of the history is def overly exagerated. if it is true that eldian had an ethnic cleansing for 1700 years, there wouldn't be any other races left in the world by this time. the whole world would be eldians. the true history probably lies somewhere between the marley's version and the restorationists' version.
FYI. The written language in attack on titan is basically just backwards japanese with a neat font so pretty much everything written in the "fake language" has a translation that you can find

Might not be a big thing, some might consider it a spoiler, some might not but...
The first time "Jaws" is mentioned/named is S4 ep1. There was a fandom-made name used that was used before it was revealed... Dancing/jumping titan.
Mentioning it before that episode kinda confirms what happens to Ymir, before the show itself confirms it. It robs people of that "lightbulb/gears are turning in their head" moment where they figure out for themselves that when a certain titan is shown for the first time, it moves like something we've seen before.
Sometimes people dont realize what is or what isn't a spoiler because they are ahead and forget what information was available at certain points of the story.

So the map shown of the island and the continent next to it is of Madagascar and Africa but flipped and mirrored. But you’re right it is way bigger than real life.
I don't think it's bigger than in real life. I see a lot of people saying that there's more than 100km between each walls, I think it comes from one of the "Currently Publicly Available Information" entry in season one.
But it just doesn't seem like it's the case in the anime or the manga. It takes a few hours at most to get from one wall to another. If it was really 100km it would take an entire day or more.
TLDR: The "100km between each wall" mid episode info is wrong

The titan that the owl had is erens titan but it is not the founding, remember, eren has 2 titan powers, the one from the owl, that was passed to Grisha, and the Founding titan, which Grisha obtained when she ate the Royal girl, I don't recall her name, back in season 3 in a flashback. Therefore, when eren ate his father, he got both titan powers

the name Eldia(Erdia) comes from the German word Erde which means the earth & soil but Japanese pronunciation for the letter "R" "L" are the same so you get Eldia for Erdia (the earth people) and Marley means a seaside meadow. so they're just nature names being used for the show cause everything is connected to nature from the Author's perspective.
Note: 35:30 this show is inspired by Norse Mythology but Isayama hides it very well from the story narrative you need to dig deep to find the connection this stuff is genius from him.

Just finished watching. Ok so this isn't really a spoiler since it's just about aesthetics, but the Paradis/Marley world map? It's actually on our own world map. If I recall correctly, Paradis is Madagascar but upside down. That's not to say that AOT world is our world, just that they inverted the map and made their own world with it.
interesting. but of course they had to change sizes because there's no way the walls would actually fit on Madagascar with a diameter of 300m for the outer wall. The outer wall would basically be on the coast so if the scouts left the walls even a little they'd hit ocean.

actually because Ymir Fritz is an eldian the other eldians can transform into titans but not especifically Ymir's descendants are the only ones able to transform into titans.
@@aspinia what are you talking about? You cannot be an eldian if you're not a descendant of Ymir. That's the whole point. In order to be able to transform into titan you must have eldian blood and for that you have to be a descendant of Ymir, the OG titan.

I'm looking forward to the next 2 episodes' talk and the "big talk" at the end of next week. There is so many things connecting seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4... Isayama (writer of the manga) truly knew what he was doing 99.9% of the time.
By the way, just a few days ago on an interview when the last volume of the manga was released, the author Isayama basically confirmed one of his inspirations for this show was "the village" movie by Shyamalan. Not gonna spoil the movie but yeah, he obviously found inspiration on a bunch of western media besides history.

All of the Jaeger titans have pointy/elf ears. Zeke’s looks like Grisha’s purely because of similar genes, while Eren’s looks more like his actual Titan inheritance
Nah bro theres millions of colossal titans inside the walls. I think I read somewhere that all the territory that is within the walls was like the size of France. So if 3 walls are circling such massive stretches of land, think about how many titans linking arms it would take to cover that distance.

Both the Cart and Jaw names we had heard from commenters. Don’t worry. At this current time we assumed they were “fan given names like Berserk”.

Head's up: Paradis Island is pretty much just Madagascar (IRL) except SUPER-SIZED.
The map is basically one of Africa, except flipped upside down. Isayama (the Author) confirmed in an interview in 2017 that the world is supposed to be a mirror image of ours.
The Walls put together are about the size of Texas (approximately ) - The Diameter of Wall Maria is 960 km
Reiner and Ymir knowing the salt water fish tin, the scouts having no idea what coffee is, Eren's confusion about what a monkey is- three huge hints that the Warriors come from a outside county that slip onset everybody's head the first time they watch the show.

when i first started watching attack on titan. i really did pay attention at all. tbh i was high for most of it. i watched this episode sober and was so overwhelmed but so intrigued to how this was attack on titan. so i rewatched it from the beginning just to understand it all

Eldia is a early translation that just stuck in peoples minds. It´s clearly inspired by the german word "Erde" (earth) so a translator who knew his stuff would have used "Erdia".
Another case: Marley very very likely based of the italian word for sea, "mare".
The translation I read uses the word Mare instead of Marley, so yeah. Idk how it's spelled in Japanese, but there defintely is a connection

I can't really talk about how they were " created " but i remember reading a comment and I'm mad that i didn't screenshot, i don't remember everything they said but basically they said that each part of Ymir made a titan for example: her skin made the armored, her bones the Warhammer, her genitals the female Titan, her hair the beast titan , and her brain the founding Titan

The owl's titan was the attack titan, but when grisha got it, he ate Frieda reiss which was the holder of the founding titan.
so when Eren ate his father, he got both the attack and the founding titan.
