@@nbain66 forgot to mention that after i had the 1050ti i ended up getting a 1070 mini before i ended up with the 7600xt (16gb) after owning the 1070 for about 5yrs
what a lovely sleep build! i think you should add a little mesh and another fan where the cd drive bay was! adds a bit of character and more airflow too. great stuff and hope the 5600x+3080 combo serves you well!
I love sleeper builds. Sometimes it's just more satisfying to modify older things to bring them up to more modern standard. I did something similar recently with my old af NZXT Apollo. Cut out the drive bays for more GPU space, built a sort of fan enclosure behind the front door to have another front fan, and put in a modular PSU for cleaner cable management since the case itself has basically none. I also replaced a couple of the blue LEDs in the front of it. So now this case that originally released in 2006 and started its life in my possession with a 3570K and an HD 7850 GPU now has a 10900K with a 7900 XTX in it. I get a kick out of looking at the case every time I play something on this PC.
@@chmleongood look. Because you won't find any. Sleeper builds require old cases. Old cases don't need airflow since old hardware didn't need as much thermal dissipation. Some old computers only had one fan and a passive heatsink for the cpu. Good airflow was, at the time, something you'd see more often on higher-end cases (which didn't look sleeper).
Kind of did the same thing when i had mine a couple years ago, but kept the original 4770, and put 32gb in there. Cut a hole in the front to fit a 120 mm aio, and was able to keep the hdd bay and optical drive bay. Had a blue ray burner, and a sd card reader populating it. Was using a 1060 6gb sc too, wish I kept it lol.
i did the same to a presario 5673 chassee, so fair enought, had to do the PSU hole and mounting screws to fit a regular pc inside but yeah, good looking outside
I tried pairing my i7 4790 with a Rx 6600 in a dell optiplex 9020 motherboard 600W PSU but while most games run fine the bottle neck is too much for triple A games im gonna put a Rx 5600xt got coming in a couple days. Should keep the GPU at steady 100% while keeping the CPU usage way down, I think a Rx 5600 or Rx5700 is probably as High as you can take that system.
I'm doing something similar I've got a optiplex 9020 sff with a 5600x and 4060 lp. How did you wire the front i/o and power switch as dell uses proprietary connectors? I know that the usb 3.0 is standard but the hd audio, usb 2.0, hdd led, power led and power switch is proprietary.
I would like to know this too for I currently have my 9020 MT maxed with a i7 4790 and Rx 5600, and am not wanting to part with my case. Plan on painting it white when swapping out the motherboard.
i think you should just close off the dvd rom hole that was left behind. the thermals will prarbly be fine and it probably wont matter but but will llook proper sleepper buildy
my current pc is a prebuild micro atx MSI trident 3, its the size of console and the gpu has a 90degree adaptor to make it paralell with the mobo, weird ash but its a good lil turd
How is the mobo mounted? Are you using the original standoff and screw positions? or is it custom. I assume the old dell boards had proprietary screw positions but maybe I'm wrong.
The 3080 sitting there like its a damn gt 730 LOL
Me with a gt 730😢

This sleeper build deserves more views.
I did more mods my guy! Video coming tonight :)
Love this sleeper build and the resourcefulness that went into it!
also make pc buidling content id love to see it and watching that be built would've been great content
I will definitely be making more content, I have an update video coming shortly! :)

I agree 100%
Good idea but as a Dell Optiplex user I can say that this case has a very bad air flow until you mod it
same opinion here. still looking for an actual "GOOD" sleeper build. most of the ones i see have bad to no airflows

This is an awesome build and a thing that showcases PC gaming in its beauty💪🏾
Now, consider using this as your 'gaming console' while in another room
love the build man. do make benchmark videos with this specs it would be great to watch.
Great idea!
The Optiplex is truly the pinnacle of PC cases

i love to do this kind of stuff to my own builds, makes everything useful and you feel proud not spending where its not needed
exactly!
this is my favourite type of desktop computer sleeper build
looks sick, i love sleeper builds
what a beast sleeper build dang
ahh, the dream build.. a beast office pc
i did the same to a presario 5673 chassee, so fair enought, had to do the PSU hole and mounting screws to fit a regular pc inside but yeah, good looking outside
God, I honestly would LOVE to have an optiplex case with that in it
😀
You can drill holes underneath the gpu, and then stick a fan to blow air in there. Will %100 lower gpu temps
WOOW You own a tank, not just a regular computer😉😉
i think you can buy a USB Hub Optical Drive Front Panel online that fits the front hole
Put the tower cooler, it would make great air flow and it will cool your CPU way better.
Overall nice sleeper build.
oh thank god i almost thought you paired up a 2-4th gen i5/i7 with a rtx 3080 lmfao
very nice sleeper build though man, i like it!
bruh imagine LOL
4th gen still goated❤

That‘s a HELL OF A PC!
I suggest you add a rear fan or your GPU PCIe slot will melt
love it ♥ have fun with it.
Goddamn good sleeper build 9/10 but doesn't have the old pc vibes or maybe I'm just an unc
Ya I think I might go back to the OG sidepanel
I would also include an optical drive just to finish it off (they cost pretty cheap and most of them are Sata)
The sleeper build omg 👁️👄👁️
This is why you don’t judge a PC by it’s cover. 😂
If you get a blanking plate for the 5.25 inch bay it would be perfect
Plan on getting it soon my G
im doing the exact same thing with a optiplex 7010 but with a 2060ti
Amazing Build
"guys my pc is dusty and runs too hot"
Cool a good pc build I like it
Love it!
Aluminium cases are the better for my opinion.
More cold thats good.

I plan on making a video showing how to wire a few of those up, MAINLY the power button. 😀
@@logigeekgaming7565 nice I just got my power supply and gpu today so all I need now is the front io and power button
My first gaming pc was built out of that case lol.
i think you should just close off the dvd rom hole that was left behind. the thermals will prarbly be fine and it probably wont matter but but will llook proper sleepper buildy
I definitely will be ordering that second front plate
hell yeah, my first pc was a dell optiplex 745 case, ugly asf but man was that case a tank, the side panels were like 5 pounds each
my current pc is a prebuild micro atx MSI trident 3, its the size of console and the gpu has a 90degree adaptor to make it paralell with the mobo, weird ash but its a good lil turd
i would be so scared of metal shavings making their way all over the board. did you sand down all the cuts you did or did you kinda just wing it?
Love when ppl do sleeper builds aways funny to me when they open up that bad boy
Thats cold icl
looking clean my guy
that's budget containing an investment
Bro stole his teacher's classroom computer. Also why RGB? Also i started laughing when you opened it.
That Gpu says everything😂❤❤🎉
What cpu specifically? You said the generation but not the model. Just curious.
looks better than those sleeper builds where they use those old white cases optiplex systems/casses are just wayy too goated
I like both :)
sleeper builds are the best in every world!
Feels nostalgic man.
man i need to see some thermals on this, can't be doin good in that configuration
I think I might do a thermal vid 🤔
Bro has a new drip 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I use a 2004 HP case, very rugged old school case and doesn't scream steal me.
I use a sleper build with a 1660 i7 8700 and 16 gigs of ram in an old dell inspiration case.
Love the wolf in sheep's clothing you have there!
How is the mobo mounted? Are you using the original standoff and screw positions? or is it custom. I assume the old dell boards had proprietary screw positions but maybe I'm wrong.
I am using the stock standoffs, I did not mod the case in any way to fit the board ;)
@@logigeekgaming7565 Cool Thanks!
I actually built my first one in a dell Inspiron 660, 3rd gen. Dell used to be great, now they suck.
I'm looking at the 7800 XT as a newer video card but I think I will wait. Too much is changing all at once
now this is a true sleeper build
Congrats man
nice sleeper
please get an optical drive this build deserves it
gorgeous
Maybe a better CPU. Get a Ryzen 7800 x3d. It's so much better. Ik its expensive but it will last forever too. Make sure u add thermal paste too.
I love this but those components deserve a better home than the soulless corporate Dell shell xD
💯
I didnt wanna buy a case LOL tohught this would be a fun project for sure :)
idk why people call pre office builts "sleeper pcs" Id get it this is besically a office pc (normal) case with beast specs
You could probably squeeze in another fan at the front and you'll be set
will do for sure
u should spray paint the inside ngl i have a dell optiplex 9020 SFF sleeper build i have a 1650 an i5 4590 and a 2tb ssd with a led cooler
I kind of want to spray it white NGL
nice pc i love it
tuff 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Epik Build
me using i7 4790 no gpu no case blinking monitor still grateful to have a pc.
I need to do this to my Optiplex
yes you do! Its awesome!
Sleeper builds are cool but hell this has been made with zero effort in it. "if it works, it works"
Can you make a tutorial on how you did make this
Ya I think I am going to make a full on tutorial showing what youll need and what needs trimmed etc.
@@logigeekgaming7565 And does this PC work, like OS and stuff.
I went with a boring case, want to use an old gateway tower next time.
HELL YEAH SLEEPER BUILD
bro got the true sleeper build 💀
You already know
Nice
"If it aint broke dont fix it"
right!
right ear loved this
Ya sorry about the audio lol
when you spend all your money on a 3080 and forget to leave some for the case:
The madmax pc
Love that name!
Im curious how is the airflow?
quite good actually, I have yet to do a temp test. But, seems fine!
Good
cozy
fire
nice one tho
bro. what is that, I can't afford the chassis or what hahaha
gpu sittin there as a gt 710 ONG fr fr anyways very nice pc/sleeper build now USE THIS TO PRANK someone (i have a 3080 to btw)
That would make a funny video! 😂
badass bro
i wanna do it with a dell optiplex 5050 that come with a i7 7700 i wish god that i find a good offer on a 2060 or 5700 xt
