@@elderman64 Oh yeah absolutely, Intel cards have progressed nicely and have a great amount of potential. But that is absent the things EVGA does. They need a board/chip partner.

@@V4Now I'm not 100% sure but from what I've found out, the owner of EVGA wanted to retire and he didn't want to sell the company. So they've stopped most of the major stuff and will stay up till they can cover up the warranties of everything they've sold so far. It's sad but it is what it is
I bought my 3090, I went into the hospital but wanted extended warranty. When I got out they switched from 10 year extended warranty to a couple of years. I emailed Andrew Han, who referred it to Jacob Freeman, they made something special and sold me the 10 year warranty at the same price they originally had. EVGA cared, I have never seen a company be more human. I miss them, and forever will cherish my 3090KP. I felt like a boomer when they roasted the MHz.
I owned a lot of EVGA cards over the years, starting with a GeForce2 MX-200, and built many more into systems as a custom builder. My personal favorite was a G92 8800GTS model, which I ran in SLI with a Xeon E3110. Many good memories were made in Crysis, CoD4, and more … and EVGA's forums, hardware, and customer support were excellent through it all.
I had the 12gb version of that card. I sold it for $500. Then bought a 4070 Super FE to replace it in my second PC. It’s faster, significantly smaller and consumes half the power.
I only owned one EVGA GPU (RTX 3080) but I miss them in the GPU market. I appreciate that they stood behind their products and their support was S-Tier compared to any other GPU manufacturer. Also, Jay, I always love your little car analogies and comparisons as a person who loves both cars and tech. I was really excited for the Chevy 350 PC build and hope that you come back to it some day.

I welcome any suggestions for new rules! 😁

I wish EVGA would partner with Sapphire and make some AMD cards as a special promo. Sapphire makes quality AMD cards already and EVGA has a long standing history of great NVidia cards. I could only imagine what they could come up with together.
And also Intel, if Evga would partner with them then maybe they could fix half of intel's shit too lol
I would love to see and buy a EVGA AMD card! I was just coming to the comments too say this same thing. Here's to hoping 🤞
@@elderman64 Oh yeah absolutely, Intel cards have progressed nicely and have a great amount of potential. But that is absent the things EVGA does. They need a board/chip partner.
yep, got a sapphire 7900XT and its a beast, hit it with max settings cyberpunk 60fps and it doesn't even ramp up fans
I doubt it would go well without a lot of time investment; it'd be like asking a company that manufactured trains to jump in and help a bus/car/plane manufacturer, i.e. similar ideas and concept in their core essence (engine make people in box move) but vastly different engineering challenges and edge cases
I was a BIG EVGA fan. All my GPUs were EVGA, except for one lapse way back when I got a Radeon 4870X2. I was so sad hearing about them leaving the GPU business. Now I have two Sapphire Nitro+ cards, 7900XTX and 6600XT.
It's like going from a motorbike to a wheelchair but i get what you mean, you are still on wheels, got it
What was it like paying 30% over the founders msrp to get 2-5 more fps and an evga badge on the gpu? I can't bring my self to be a brainless shill so I like to hear the experience of such clowns on the internet.
@@fabrb26 i have a A770, so what............
@@donkeymoo1581 Found the hater.
The EVGA experience was mostly pretty close to MSRP if you bought their reasonable cards, which still worked great and lasted forever.
Sorry all you can taste is sour grapes when there's some pretty sweet things in the world you could be trying out instead. Must suck for you.

Yes, Jay, do that video.
Not going to lie.... I purchased myself an iFixIt tool kit for my computer work and tinkering. I really do like it. Thanks for introducing them to me and others for years now. I miss EVGA.
I got an EVGA 3080 Ti a few months before they announced they were going to stop making GPUs. Man I wish they stayed in the business.
The PC industry needs EVGA back making killer cards.
I was hopeful they would make the Intel Arc cards as a middle finger to Nshidia.
Or hit the AMD market for fun.
AMD has Sapphire which I consider at the same quality as EVGA. Nvidia cards are lacking that currently
When scalping still happenin?
Doubtful. X
Kind of service won't survive in west without cheaper high quality resource from China and hard working immigran to cut off high cost production.
Only one party to blame for EVGA stepping out, and that's NVidia.
Explain please
Not at all, if they would’ve partnered with AMD they would’ve stayed around still
@@necrosaro710all other AIB partners have exactly the same issues, the only difference is that EVGA refused to deal with their bullshit any longer.
@@patrickjames3321I believe EVGA stated awhile back that they would never work with AMD. I don't know the reason why nor was I able to find when or even if that was said. I would almost swear that I had seen it though.
@@paulsilva3346jay explains, but nvidia kept being restrictive what board partners and end users could do to their own card and constantly kept locking down stuff with the chipsets and evga got sick of nvidias bs acting like nvidia owned the gpus even end users cards being dictators.
I miss EVGA so much! Shopping for gpu's just isn't the same without them. I'm so nostalgic, I still have an EVGA gtx 1080 in one of my older builds! It would be a dream come true if EVGA would come back one day!
cool Vid Jay, we miss EVGA also and taking the toys off the wall enjoying them and then putting them back is needed at times.
EVGA cards were just SEXY. Simplicity has so much charm.
Yes Jay, do that video.
yes Jay, do that video
Yes Jay, do that video!
Yes Jay, Please do that video. I never know what to do with all those options.
I never get tired of Jay talking cars to explain computers.
Same though xD
I share this.. I’m a shop owner/mechanic
Sore sure. Especially when he make reference to my first car when I was 15; a 1975 280z with a blown head gasket and engine rebuild I tackled on my own! I would never dream of doing an LS swap but did drop in a 5 speed vs the OEM 4 speed transmission.
Yes Jay do that video. EVGA we miss you.
Pretty sad that evga stopped making GPUs
be mad at nvidia
@@amdintelxsniperx Nvidia isn't the only gpu maker, they could've paired up with AMD and Intel and play a long game
i personally REALLY hope that we get a big surprise this or next year and that EVGA will make cards for the new AMD or Intel generation.
Or both
that would be a massive selling point for those cards.
@@elderman64I've always been curious why they didn't.
@@V4Now I'm not 100% sure but from what I've found out, the owner of EVGA wanted to retire and he didn't want to sell the company. So they've stopped most of the major stuff and will stay up till they can cover up the warranties of everything they've sold so far. It's sad but it is what it is
"Yes Jay do that video "
Don't forget both AMD and NVIDIA pla❤
I bought my 3090, I went into the hospital but wanted extended warranty. When I got out they switched from 10 year extended warranty to a couple of years. I emailed Andrew Han, who referred it to Jacob Freeman, they made something special and sold me the 10 year warranty at the same price they originally had. EVGA cared, I have never seen a company be more human. I miss them, and forever will cherish my 3090KP.
I felt like a boomer when they roasted the MHz.
yes jay do that video! you basically taught me how to build i am finishing up my second build now
keep up the great work
7:11 yes Jay please do that video!
"Yes Jay Do That Video"
If EVGA started building AMD gpus, I bet that would get more people willing to try AMD gpus
I've never used anything but Nvidia, but since they've decided I'm nothing but a Pay Piggy, I would *STRONGLY* consider an EVGA Raedon Card...
@@digitalis2977 Nvidia always considered their customers to be their personal piggybanks.
I would totally be on board.
I would definitely be interested.
I'd be very interested, EVGA would make me feel like some of my AMD GPU concerns were taken care of.
RIP EVGA. We miss you dearly.
*I still have my first edition EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra Gaming card. I won't sell it. When it is old, it will go in a plexi-glass display.*
I had the 12gb version of that card. I sold it for $500. Then bought a 4070 Super FE to replace it in my second PC. It’s faster, significantly smaller and consumes half the power.
@@ZackSNetwork nice im still using the 3080 xc3 to i dont game so i dont need more power
Yeah do that. Keep it as a reminder.
@@Mason_bluegrassThe 3080 is an amazing GPU. It’s a shame Nvidia didn’t give it 16gbs of vram.
Same with my 3070 Ti FTW3.
I'm going to run that card until it melts.
7:08 would love that video!
yes jay do that video. having a one stop shop for gpu info would be phenomenal as I haven't upgraded in 5 years so I'm a bit behind on general info
This is Jay's not so silent cry.. comeback evgs!
I only owned one EVGA GPU (RTX 3080) but I miss them in the GPU market. I appreciate that they stood behind their products and their support was S-Tier compared to any other GPU manufacturer. I hope they are eventually come back to the GPU space, though I know that isn't very likely.
Also, Jay, I always love your little car analogies and comparisons as a person who loves both cars and tech. I was really excited for the Chevy 350 PC build and hope that you come back to it some day.
I've been watching JTC for a good few years now and I've come up with a JTC drinking game. The rules are as follows;
- Everytime Jay says "I digress.." - drink 3 fingers
- Everytime Phil laughs off-camera - drink 2 fingers
- Everytime Jay accidently drops something - drink 5 fingers if it's fine and take a shot if it's broken
- Everytime Nick actually appears on camera - drink for the duration of Nicks on-screen time
- Everytime Jay presses F and pays respects to EVGA not doing GPUs any more - drink 3 fingers
- Everytime Jay bemoans the amount of fan & RGB cabling for non-daisychainable fans - drink 4 fingers and if Corsair Commander Pro is mentioned take another finger
- Everytime "IFIXIT" is said (must be shouted just like the advert), outside of the advert - drink 5 fingers
- Everytime Jay gets a static shock - drink 3 fingers
- Everytime a CoolerMaster product is mentioned and the product name is said like: "CoolerMasterMasterLiquidMasterCoolerCoolerLiquidMaster" etc.. - drink 3 fingers
- Everytime Jay attempts a massive manual overclock and crashes the system - drink 5 fingers
- Everytime Jay pushes the power button and forgets either the PSU switch is off or the power is disconnected - drink 3 fingers
- Everytime a naughty word is dubbed by Nick - drink 2 fingers
- Everytime a component is overclocked but the benchmark score is lower than before, causing confusion - drink 3 fingers
I've watched 3 videos today and needless to say, midway through the 2nd video I was absolutely steaming.
I welcome any suggestions for new rules! 😁
Try it with my moonshine 🤮
Dude, I'm surprised it took 2 videos. Most ppl'd be hammered after one!
How about every time he drops something, and every time he cuts himself?
Oh, oh, oh, and every time he says he doesn't know something and has to *finally* go RTFM.... 🤣
Are you trying to kill people with alcohol poisoning?!😅
I wish a vendor would offer KP a offer he couldn't refuse and give him the freedom he deserves to innovate
And the majority of the other eVGA staff as well,
Yes Jayz do that video. 06:58
Can we all agree that EVGA GTX1080 is the best looking card in the world by far.
Agreed, I don't wanna upgrade from my 1080ti FTW3
5:16 Jay doing a Linus knocking stuff over
7:00 Yes Jay, do that video!!
7:13 yes Jay, do that video and also RIP EVGA
My old 1080 evga card is still going .
Stil have mine as well 1080ti hybrid still run like a top.
Same here. Still using a 1070 SC2 which could do better than a different brand 1080. I like driving a vintage sportscar collectors item
If we were to plug cables to multiple sockets, then what was the purpose of replacing 8-pin power connector in the first place?
The real reason for the 2 12vhpwr connectors is that this card can pull up to 1200w with the custom xoc bios from Vince and ln2. A single connector could not supply this. The custom bios will pull 500w when simply gaming. I love mine.
It's truly disheartening to hear that EVGA video cards are no longer available. Their top-notch quality, reliability, and innovation have set a benchmark in the industry. Many gamers and enthusiasts, myself included, will miss the unparalleled gaming experience that EVGA cards provided. Farewell, EVGA, you'll be dearly missed in the gaming world.
It's even hard to believe that customers could love a company, it's just EVGA phenomenon and I've never heard of any other.
@@SirSleepwalker If a company is good enough, ppl are gonna love 'em. They are few and far between, but eVGA is one shining example of a damned good company, even if they have dropped out of the GPU market.
I'm sorry "if you don't know who Kingpin is"... that line gave me reality check how time flies.
Yes jay please do that video!
I typically never keep old hardware after I upgrade, but I have kept my first ever EVGA gpu, an GTX 670 FTW and I will also keep my last EVGA gpu, an RTX 3080 Ti FTW3. We love you EVGA and thanks for all the memories.
EVGA was for sure my favorite company for design and customer service. I scored a new EVGA 3060 during the shortage from their list program and got it super quick. Ended upgrading to a gigabyte 3070 Auorus master as a I got a steal of a deal on it but always wanted an EVGA 3080

Miss EVGA so much! I remember buying an 8800 gts 320 to replace my x1950gt and it was great! But then the 8800gt came out and I was green with envy...but then I remembered that the 320 by some company called evga had a step-up program. Got the 8800gt and the rest was history. I bought evga motherboards, power supplies whatever had their brand on it. Heck Nordic Jedi used to stop by my place when he was passing through and we would go get a burger and hang out. Good times. RIP
Evga 8800 gt was my first card and I spent everything on that PC when I was 11. Was so bummed when it broke a year later, I thought I was doomed. Nope, called them, they paid for all the shipping and sent me a new one in a couple days. Didn’t even know such a thing was possible being a kid. Such a good card
I miss my evga 8800gt. It was the only card I kept. A hurricane destroyed it 😞
Until they left the market, my GPUs were EVGA and I still use them in my old rigs. Quality cards. Great vid, nice to see the card woken from its slumber to bench it. Like seeing supercars driven on track, where they belong, not solely museum pieces :)
I worked so hard to get my EVGA 3090 FTW3 during the video card shortage days. I will never let it go.

Dude, try talking to someone at EVGA right now, I went back and forth about 20 times trying to get a thermal pad diagram for a 2080ti and was sent the wrong info, every single time, I gave up. Sure do miss the old EVGA.
There's a saying in my language that basically means "Nobody knows what they've had until they've lost it". Perhaps there's a saying in English as well but I find this very fitting in the case of EVGA.
"You don't know what you have until it's gone."
"Nooo! Don't take away the up/down voting arrows!" Said by no one ever.

Yes, the video would be great! I moved from my EVGA 1080 Ti to the EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA HC GAMING when they had their closeout sales and I am very happy with what it does, with no desire yet to go to 4080s. Thanks for the tip on that unfortunate but good opportunity too (the closeout sales).

Can you make a video on how to efficiently and effectively switch to Linux and which Linux is best to switch to? As Windows 10 is coming up on just under a year left of life this video would be really useful as well as your thoughts as to what Linux OS’s to switch to. Obviously Mint will likely be one of the best choices but it would be interesting to hear your takes as you are incredibly well-informed. Thanks!

My 960gtx from EVGA is still my streaming and gaming GPU for the time being. It's ran nonstop for almost 10 years. I stream to this day sometimes 1440 60 fps in games. A true testament to how hardcore their products were. While nearing the end of its current use, I could see this thing rocking for many more years to come in a side rig. I wish they made an AMD. I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat.
