    Yeah, the difference in the finish of the floors is night & day. Reminds me of polishing the floors in the army barracks back in the day. Should re-shine lots of times before you need to strip it. The car polisher idea will work good.

      The dirt project slowed me down a bit. Almost finished with the main room now and the polisher is here. Now, I need to track down some compound.

    Not a fan of floor tiles due to grout cleaning regularly.
    Opted for LVP here in Thailand and we love it.
    Good luck.

      I have laid many a tile and I know for certain, if you do not "seal" the grout you will have problems. In the US they now sell grout with sealer pre-mixed into the dry mix. Back-in-the-day I had to add it after the grout dried, painstakingly applying it to every grout line, which is why many people did not do it.

    🙂Thanks for the video Jing Jo Juice 555 -
    learning from your experiences. I like the idea of using a penetrating sealer myself rather than wax on top but local availability is always a issue.

      @ParadiseNThailand  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I think a penetrating sealer would work better considering the porousness of this tile. I used what Global House suggested, which is always a role-of-the-dice.

      Something to consider, if the color is not light/white or heavily patterned, you might be ok, as it will not show the stains as easily as ours.

    Plenty of glazed low sheen floor tiles available here, great for bathrooms, I personally hate high polish looking floors unless it's timber. In a few years if your over those tiles you can get a floating floor put right over the top.

    To eliminate "orange peel" on rolled paint surfaces, you need to lightly lay-off with long straight very light brush strokes over the wet surface as you go using a wide long-haired fine paint brush.

    • @ParadiseNThailand
      @ParadiseNThailand  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hey Wayne,
      I'll give that a try. This wax "self-levels" a little on its own if applied in thicker layers, but still a lot of "tracking" in the final finish. I ordered a hand buffer to see if that will smooth it a bit more.

  • @hassaman5
    @hassaman5 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Hey, on your thought using a trowel for the floor material, I was thinking, maybe a window squeegee might work for you? Some are wide, can attach to a long handle as well.

    • @ParadiseNThailand
      @ParadiseNThailand  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have a floor squeegee here, but I'm guessing it will do what squeegees are designed to do and remove all the liquid, albeit a very thin layer. 5 layers with the "float and clothe" are still only as thick as a piece of paper. So I think a squeegee would take 10-12 coats minimum. I will grab a cheap hand squeegee and try it in a small spot to see what it looks like.

    Hi Kenny, you've probably finished the floors now, however a domestic Kenwood steam mop would have cleaned everything off and cleaned the grout as you went. They're excellent for marks and stubborn stains.

    I like the matte finish better ;-) ..where I am right now there are shiny tiles everywhere and I can't even count how many times I had a close call.. still can't believe I haven't sliped yet lol ..even when completely dry, they are a menace!

    • @ParadiseNThailand

      ...and that is why I installed the matte tiles. However, as I said, they look like hell now, and Sompit can't drag a mop over them, so I had to do something. Only time will tell if I did the right thing, I guess.
