Thanks, Today is the last day of painting. Only house cleaning tomorrow and they will be finished! It will be a GLORIOUS day!
Great, then you know of them this is William from USA SPOKANE VALLEY, WA . HOPE TO MEET UP WHEN THE WIFE ABD I COME OVER THERE TO SAKONNAKHON
Hey William, I lived in Washington a few years, albeit I was down around Pasco/Kennewick area. Let me know when you are in the Issan area, we'll figure something out. Thanks for watching.
Lunch!
Thanks what I said! lol
Fruit tree are really nice you mite think about that
We have a few around the pond: bananas, guava, mango, papaya, lime, mulberry, and coconuts.
Why don't you put in some mini coconut trees you mite like them and they produce well
If referring to the short tree with normal sized coconuts, we have 3 near the pond that we planted 1.5 years ago. They were the first we planted.
Where are you in Thailand Ken
About a 1-hour drive south of Sisaket city on hwy 2111. Khun Han would be the largest town, about 3 km out into the rice fields to our house.
Good video. Got a lot of good info off it. Going to build in Laos. Very similar situation. Thanks for sharing.
I have the entire build from purchase/design through today in videos. Pretty much cover every piece of the build. Two playlists: Thaibuild 1 - purchase planning utilities, Thailbuild 2 - arrival in October through today.
Looks good
Thanks Chris!
nearly there...in fact probably there by now? Our build has come to a grinding halt, been slow progress for a while and now almost the entire crew has come down with Covid. I cannot see them being finished by July 11 contract date, have only just started on tiles so all that to do, plus painting and fittings. Not happy !
Sorry to hear that Mike. I think we got real lucky with our builder. We are two days from finished now, detail painting and a day of cleaning inside.
I have loved watching these videos of the house build buddy, looks great now...keep going..
Thank DJ. We will continue videos until people lose interest, but obviously the content will start to change, after all the necessary little projects get completed. Appraciate you taking the time to watch our channel/ Stick around we will try to keep some interesting content. If nothing else, I can give you some head-shaken time!
thanks for creating and sharing
My pleasure!
Kenny, if you’re still having problems with soy dogs peeing on your posts try some bowls of ammonia or spray them, have the same problem gonna give it a try.
I have not seen any since I published that video. May have been seeing old tracks. I was planning on a 220v surprise for the urine stream if it continued. Don't like doing that but I can't have them pissing on my doorstep. Thanks Wayne
Good afternoon Kenny and Sompit. You have a fair bit of usable land beside the house, was deceptive when the village was in place.
Many people here said the same thing. Several Fox Palms and a few filler trees are in the plan. Maybe a small shop later on.
@@ParadiseNThailand maybe papaya, banana or other fruit trees?
Hopefully your screens can be removed for cleaning. Unlike the ones in America, my custom made “mosquito” screens cannot be removed and they get filthy after 6-7 months. Pain in the arse. I end up using a brush.
Can remove, just not easily.
Looking good. Now you just need to get a snake grabber like Uncle Craig. As for the washer and dryer, you might consider putting them on pedestals. Sompit's back will thank you. And then you had to go and mention ping pong balls. Boy did my mind go sideways. lol
Snake Grabber is now on my 2 Buy list! The wash equipment came with pedestals, and they are installed, just not very tall. Ping Pong Balls: ....and now I know! LOL
Best wishes with the house blessing, looking good
Thanks, we did it three days ago, all went well, and we are almost done!
Wow! The house is really starting to look sharp!! After the painting on the house and the clear coat on the slate is done, it's really going to pop!!
Thanks, They clear-coated the slate about an hour ago, second coat tomorrow, and it looks nice. Thanks for watching.
That garden cart will be used like crazy I'm sure because I bought one when I first moved into my house also. Already replaced two of the pneumatic wheels from wearing them out. If you haven't done so already, you can order a long handled shovel online. I only found short handled ones (sore back makers) in the big box stores. Just saying 😅
I put that cart together and put it too work immediately. We had a nice one in the US and Sompit used it all the time, so when I suggested itt, the response was "Really, good!"

Kenny The green pit vipers are venomous and are common in isaan. Had a few in my yard.
Ahh yes, guess I had heard about those. The green tree snake was on my mind at the time. Thanks
Enjoyed your video today. If someone has been fishing your pond without asking, that would be pretty low and create bad karma for themselves. Hope that's not the case. Enjoy your day... until the next one then. :)
Agree, but the most populus fish should be those black tilapia at 250 fry. We have harvested 30 at the most. They used to cruise around near the surface daily. With that, I would think he should have netted many more than he did. Plus, I just don't see them during feeding like I did in the past. Hope I'm wrong.
@@ParadiseNThailand. Hello Kenny, I’ve noticed the same with our fish, planted 1500 3 different species and until recently you couldn’t get the food in the water fast enough, not sure if it’s weather changes or what but I know we have no midnight fishermen. Take care
Bird Spikes! Boom! And thank you for being sane and getting a dryer! No dust filled clothing at your house! We have a sink in our laundry room, so easy to empty the water tray.
Remember, Sompit lived in the US for 7 years....with a dryer! LOL
@@ParadiseNThailand The habits of luxury!
I dont get why all the excavators do not ever use mud buckets in Thailand , it a long flat bucket with no teeth. So much more easy to flatten out jobs .
I would assume it's simply considered an unnecessary cost to them.
@ParadiseNThailand but would speed up their time in work working hours , they are smart workers im sure they could build something.
Hey Kenny Going to miss your sense of humor on your house building videos when all is finished. That shot of the pond with the house looks great. You really have built your paradise N Thailand 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺🇦🇺
The house build will end, but my feeble attempts at humor will live on!
The snake on your video is a Rat snake, But any Bright colored green etc snakes should be given a wide birth as bright colored in the wild is a red flag to predators, so it could be the pit Vipers an yes very poisonous any bites of any kind get yourself to a medical assistance center quickly. Great progress the house finish line looks like its just in sight.
Yes, I did not think about the green pit viper when I made that comment. two more days of paint a day of deep cleaning and it should be over with the exception of the ongoing leak!
Non venomous, call that one "The Boxcutter" teeth slash if tagging you.
Actually, I believe the lock is to keep you out of the kitchen. I guess the outdoor area will be more like a Thai kitchen.
That outdoor area was one of my "Must haves". Sompit really didn't want it, but I told her it was needed for those really smelly, or spicey cooking events.
The joy of building, be glad your in Thailand
I will be glad when this is over, and I'm in Thailand. Looking forward to retirement.
Wow Kenny your place is really looking good. I'm excited for you guys!
Thanks Chris, Two more days of painting, and a day of good cleaning, and it will be finished!
hi kenny and sompit
Hello Terrence
Good Morning Guys
Morning Dave
The safety switch, may well be below standard, remember where it was probably made
i had considered that, Th electrician is scheduled to come back to finish the conduit at the pole. i will discuss options at that time. Thanks Johnny
Kenny, I think you would be better off in the long run replacing that main disconnect ground fault with just a normal breaker and put GFCI breakers where you need them on the branch circuits. I think this will be more reliable and less frustrating to troubleshoot in the future. I have never seen a main disconnect GFCI in the US, I'll have to check into this. Having a disconnect at the pole would not be a bad thing if you have some way to secure it with a lockable cover.
I have considered this. The logistics of it is another thing. I think it is doable, but not sure how difficult it will be inside that box. If the individual breakers are same size replaceable, I think it is a simple fix. The electrician has to return to convert that UG conduit to the pole, I will talk to him, maybe even hire him to change it. Honestly, too much stuff going on lately to take the time to mind-boggle it. I have advised Duke of the situation, so he is aware. Thanks Swimmer!
There will probably be many more projects around paradise that would provide good content. Also, follow ups and things that you might have done differently is always very interesting. As you mentioned, there are many vloggers filming shopping and food prices in Siam. But those are usually in the tourist areas. Vlogging about non tourist areas still provides novel content.
Yes, that will be the content over the next few months as we settle into our retirement life here in Issan. We will definitely have a couple trips mixed in, but the priority will be converting Paradise into our personal serene bliss! Appreciate the support.
Kenny, are you still having leaking problems in the outdoor area? If the shingles are not overhanging the facia enough, surface tension could be drawing the water back up against the facia and under the shingles. If that's the case, extending the shingle overhang or a drip edge might help.
Yes, I believe you are correct. The overhang is about one inch. I will let the contractor exhaust his ideas, then I will intervene. Suggesting to tuck an "extension" under the edge of the panel. BTW, they are insulated metal panels, full 6mx1m sheets.
Are your camera's linked to your mobile phone
yes, but I did not have wifi here until a couple days ago, so now they are mobile.
Agree Kenny, too much rinse & repeat vloggers filling face and dashcam edit. You guys are an end to end watch👋
Thanks Radley, will try to continue with the short clips jumping for subject to subject, because I know most people's attention span is about like mine, 30-60 seconds. We'll see how that works with day-to-day life.
Great news that you will carry on with your channel, my mornings wouldn't be the same without watching your videos before heading off to work. I will be moving to Udon Thani at the end of the year with my wife and son so hope to catch a Leo with you some day. Many thanks and happy trails sir.
Let me know when you're in the area, or I'm passing near you, and we will arrange a time and place for a cold one.
@ParadiseNThailand you're on sir, keep up the great work and the first cold Leo's on me. I wish you luck as you near completion and on your travels. See you at the end of the year.
A ground fault will trip the breaker no matter how much load you put on the system. Is it definitely a ground fault or over load? I'm assuming by ground fault you mean it is tripping the residual circuit device on your board? Do you have a main breaker with built in RCD protection or separate? it could also just be a faulty RCD device. Get the electrician to carry out an RCD ramp test to see if the device is ok, if ok you can then narrow it down by isolating the circuits. If it is only tripping when you start to put more load on the system it is either a faulty main switch possibly with a built in rcd device or it is simply over loading. You will have to check the rating of the main switch to upgrade it, you have to be careful of upgrading breakers due to cable sizes etc etc..
63A main breaker has build-in 30 ma RCD, the red RCD window is activated when I say it is "tripping the ground fault", which i believe to be the same RCD/ground fault.
I for one would like to see what landscaping you will do - and if I can ever make it back to Thailand I would love to share a beer and a story or two
Yes, we will show our improvements as we continue to convert the property, as well as other parts of our life in rural Issan. Let me know when and we'll figure out a time n place for a cold one.
Morning Kenny and Sompit, almost there. Will we get to see some of your house ceremony? Nothing better than a good chanting 😊. I'm impressed with the quality of your videos, keep em coming.
I will have a "ceremony day" video. But not so much ceremony as it is more of the preparation and clearing out.
Kenny, we are just getting ready to start tile install, the tile you replaced, did it have a P rating, we changed some parking tile fromP10 to P12
BTW, we are in Phetchaburi
Not familiar with that rating system. Home One had tags on the "HD" rated tiles so that is what we went with. Duke was with us when we picked them, and he assured me they would be ok.....felt better about that (rolling eyes). Let me know when you're in the area, or I'm near you, catch a cold one.
May I suggest mixing your content with rural everyday life with nature and local village life and trips into town also improvements on your property as you go along im sure there will be plenty of everyday events to inspire you.
Yes, those videos will fill the voids between travels. After this first trip we will come back and get the house and property to a point where I won't be worried about having a long todo list after travels.
The highways are so full on in Thailand , i set my Google maps to shortcuts, and in some places, it took me off them busy roads into country towns, absolutely beautiful mate .
I might try that on our coming Pattaya trip. Thanks Trent
hi kenny
Hello Terrence
This is getting close to done. Being Friday now, you've probably had the monks over for the blessing and must be having fun. :) Enjoy your day.
Yes, did the blessing even though the painters are still not finished. They told us 3-4 days and we are now on day 10 with 2-3 more minimum. We stayed here last night because her family said it was "bad luck" if we did not after the ceremony. Not sure what we will do tonight. Thanks Steven
My LG TV in the living room doubles as our camera monitor. Is that possible for you? As your "secret" post production assistant - you really needed some dramatic music dropped in while the gate was opening behind you. Come on Man! 🎶🎶🎶 As far as video topics, just wait till things around the home fall apart (hope not), and your list of "Gosh, why didn't I do that!" starts to grow. And you are spot on about all the tiresome travel videos out there. Why do you think mine are so short?😎 I have my money on the painters finishing two days past what they told you.
I don't have any TVs and hadn't really thought about getting one. I haven't watched more than 3 hours Tv since October 1, when we arrived in BKK. I have used music in the background but lately just too busy. edited that video last night and uploaded it for this morning. And yes, they told us they would be here 3-4 days, we are on day 10 today and still 2-3 days left minimum, which is why we were scheduling delivers. we have pushed back every delivery so far by 3 days and they still are not finished. sofa and bed coming today, so I had to push them yesterday to get the living room and bedroom 100%.
Question. How much did you have to pay for the gate motor? Could you share brand, specs and where you bought all the parts?
B5000 on Lazada, BSM brand. comes with 4m or gear rack but I needed 5.5m so ordered another 2m off Lazada. www.lazada.co.th/products/i4069039073-s15868234597.html?urlFlag=true&mp=1&tradePath=omItm&tradeOrderId=868236957404357&tradeOrderLineId=868236957504357&spm=spm%3Da2o42.order_details.item_title.1
