    Talapia are best of these, imo. I have purchased a wifi cctv cam to put out there, and will add a couple more solar lights, as you said. Still a lot of small tilapia in there so i may, or may not, add few but will be sticking to one spicies in the pond this time.

    Looking at the number of goldfish to filapia ratio my guess is they are becoming carnivorous. They are opportunistic omnivores normally but quickly adapt to preying on an abundant supply of "easy-meat". As a kid we had a large pond which I loaded with a variety of fish, and before long there was mainly just goldfish. Once I stopped feed ing they took for years to finally die off completely. They have become an invasive pest throughout Australia, but also the States. It will interesting to see how the new pond stock develops. Great vdo.

      I did not know that about goldfish. Was wondering why they were not taken. We put in 50 "red talapia" and got about that many out. All other species cut by 90%, as far as the mature ones are concerned.

    That was a big haul for a tiny pond without airation, also many fish will still be left, this you will see when the water is back. You need to slope the bottom to a deep corner in order to pump to empty and harvest to near 100%. Unfortunately it is too late, the predators escaped in the mud and will chomp whatever you restock with.

      Yes, we have lots of fish left and did not have the means to pump out the rest, so we will try again with a better system next time around.

    Great video. FYI the Jalamet wont eat bigger fish but they will bite them to kill them. And if you’re not careful they will bite you when trying to land them. Experienced. Check the fins of the other fish to see if they have bite marks. You may find some. Happy Holidays

      One of the reasons we put so many more talapia, and the shrimp, was to outnumber the preditor spicies. They obviously bred successfully based on the thousands of 3-4 hatchings we had. I did notice a few bite marks on some of the fish but nothing surprising. As I said, I find it hard to believe that jarremet would only eat the adult fish, with so many small ones available.

    So that's why they put the those sticks in the bottom of their pond. Imagine running around at night with a net stealing fish from ponds....

      I think most of them were taken while still building the house, and the rest while we were away. We can't do anything here without the entire village knowing about it. CCTV and solar lights on the project list now.

    Hi Kenny, it's not all bad, the fish that didn't get nicked got big! The cat fish was a meal for 2 and the Pacu were bigger than I thought they would be. I totally agree, the Pacu didn't eat the other fish, but the cat fish would, but they'd eat the small ones. So what's the best tasting fish out of them? I recon you'll be able to deter thieves with a few CCTV cameras and a solar security light, just make them obvious.

      The tilapia, imo and that's all that I'm putting back in once I get some solar lights and a cctv out there.

      I never saw the white one come out. I'm guessing dad didn; nott tell the kids so it went in the truck. Not a big deal, was just sentimental.

      Even if we did, nothing would be done here. no one cares about the "rich farangs". I will be installing CCTV and solar lights out there next.

    I bet they died instead of people stealing them and if they did, how did you allow that to happen? 🤦🏻‍♂️ 😂

    • @ParadiseNThailand
      @ParadiseNThailand  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Apparently, they are all sinkers, as I only found 3 floaters over the past year. Some have suggested I di not feed them, just let them fend for themselves, and they will be fine. However, I enjoy throwing money away twice a day and watching them eat it😅

      @@ParadiseNThailand Yeah Kenny. Considering that Tilapia can thrive in water courses polluted with human excrement, you should have counselled each fish personally as to it's well being and if the twice daily feed was to their liking. "How can you allow that to happen". FFS
