Canoeing the Royal Dee

This is a video account of a canoe trip made from Mar Lodge to Banchory on the Royal Dee in Scotland. The trip was made in three days by members of Wigan Canoeing Group.

Thanks for sharing this! Do you know what the water levels were? Planning to go at this solo, but I know water levels play a big part on this river...!

Thanks for watching. The day before we paddled you could have walked across the river in places there was so little water. We stayed in Braemar and it hammered down overnight. The level was rising rapidly as we set off. The lads were checking the level. About 2 at Mar Lodge seems to ring a bell but cant be sure. FThe first day was a real handful in an Open Boat. Enjoy and paddle safe.
