I Corinthians 1:17 is the verse you are referencing. What did Paul do in verses 14-16? He listed those that he baptized and even said he baptized those he could not remember. If verse 17 is the only verse you quote then you miss the whole context of Paul's epistle. One of the first points he makes about the Corinthian church is that they had contentions regarding people that made light of the fact certain factions belonged to Paul, Apollos, or Cephas. If Paul were diminishing baptism he would not have rattled off a list of names he had baptized. So Paul made it clear that his coming to them was not to baptize but to preach the cross. He did not need to baptize because they had already done that. He is not saying baptism does not matter rather who baptized you is not what matters.
OK, I am definitely impressed. Finally, a Protestant that reads and understands the Bible the way a Catholic does.......well, at least on the topic of Baptism anyway. Faith alone never saves. Let's hope and pray that all Protestants will come to this same understanding, as the souls of so many people are in jeopardy of being lost due to the teaching of false doctrine by so many people that mean well, but just get it wrong. Just read the pure and simple Bible without adding words, or deleting words and entire Books, and without fabricating elaborate stories to explain away doctrines that cannot be proven in the Bible. Of course, my prayer would be for the guy in this video to agree with the other Catholic teachings in the Bible. God Bless!
John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, l say unto thee, Except a man be born of the water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. Acts 2:38 Baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sins.
Amen! amen! amen ! Jesus has not yet died and rose again, so in who's death was he to be babtised? Romans6:3. Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Question: In Luke 12:50 Jesus describes the cross as a baptism that he must do and the thief died on tn e cross, if it was a baptism for Jesus, could it have been a baptism for the thief?
Agreed, he just confirmed that you don’t need baptism 😅. The end comment regarding judgement he just deflected. Jesus precious blood was enough and will always be enough. The only baptism you need is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Amen
"On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that, he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” [John 20: 19-23] Very clear and straight forward but it is overlooked by many Christians - one cannot choose quotes from the Bible and overlook others. This is what real confession refers to. Jesus gave the power to forgive sins to his apostles who in turn passed it on the followers by the laying of the hands - every confession really and truly is done to God, the priest acts [in Persona Christi] on behalf of Jesus whom he represents on earth and forgives by the power of God given to him as clearly shown in the text above. Hence this lesson which is very well done is not complete and gives the impression that one does not need to have his sins forgiven in confession before one dies; if that person dies with an unrepentant heart and unconfessed mortal sin without having any (knowledgeable) intention of wanting to confess, is lost - So this is a matter of life or death (forever). See also [Matthew 16: 19] "... I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” These two pages form part of the Holy Bible and cannot be so bluntly overlooked. May God help you find and understand the fullness of truth and teach it accordingly.

Thank you! This is exactly how my husband and I respond to that question, the most asked question. Confirmation.
Can you explain what gospel the thief on the cross obeyed according to Hebrews 4:2?
Well done!
Jesus name baptism and in filling of the Holy Ghost!
Paul sent people to preach the gospel and not baptize. That alone is proof you don't need baptism to get saved.

@Missy Todd amen
Yes! It’s nothing that we can can do to save ourselves but rather trusting in what Christ has ALREADY done for us on the cross!
