I really hope that in Mad Max: The Wasteland Max actually uses the Interceptor for at least a decent part of the movie, instead of him either losing it or it being destroyed at the very start of the film. I just wanna see what the Interceptor can do with today’s technology and cinematography!

Your missing the point of these feminised movies. Fury road wasn't about Max, they used the brand to push a female centric movie...if They called it fury road with just charlize theron it wouldn't have done half aswell.

Just because Furiosa played a big role as well as Immorton Joes wives doesn’t mean it’s not a Mad Max movie, are you forgetting Max, Immorton Joe, Rictus, Nux and the hundreds of War Boys that all play just as big of a role in the movie? And even if it didn’t have the Mad Max brand, it would still be nearly as successful due to its amazing action, stunts and the badass cars.

That's funny because back when I made that video about games I was actually referring to a completely different character than Dementus, but it's also in the game. Seriously, that game is littered with spoilers for Miller's future Mad Max films.
It would be cool if Anya's furiosa is narrating an ending speech with memories of her or whatever she's doing in the end of the film and then simultaneously they do a switch to Charlize's furiosa voice narrating and a twin shot for the visual switch from young and adult furiosa

'Furiosa' was originally one of the names for Mad Max 4, later it was the name of the land that fury road goes through and eventually it landed on the character played by Charlize Theron.

I was looking forward to another Tom Hardy because I felt we didn't get enough of Max and we've only had the V8 interceptor in one movie really because the road warrior he kind of uses it but it gets destroyed and beyond thunder dome he doesn't have it and is in the process of rebuilding it I have no problem with the furiosa movie just wish it was after a mad Max movie .

As a long time Mad Max fan since I saw it as a kid with my dad in the mid 80s, I love this franchise. I liked Fury Road and the character of Furiosa a lot. A lot of people saw the film as a feminist film. I saw what they were upset about and there was some traces of that in there, not a lot as some people played it out to be. But one scene did bother me, and that was the scene where the mother to be and the old lady were discussing how "Bad" it would be if her baby was born a boy, and the "upside" was that "Maybe it will be a girl." That was the bit that pissed me off, as if that is what it all boils down to. I honestly hope this new film, being female led does NOT go down that same path of political views on how bad men are and how great it is to be a woman. I see enough of that crap everywhere now, I don't want it in my Mad Max films. Even the spin offs.
Thank you for your comment! All I'm gong to say is that you touched upon a very important subject of how Fury Road was perceived vs what the intention of the writers was. The scene you described WAS supposed to bother you because the idea was that the Vuvalini's toxic matriarchy wasn't any better than Immortan's toxic patriarchy. That was the message of the film, that both extremes are bad and Furiosa and Max working together are the solution.
@@MadMaxBible I will agree, George Miller does strong characters like Max and females ones like Warrior Woman, Aunty and Furiosa well, he is one of the few like James Cameron who knows how to make a female character be strong and not play into too much of the gender politics we see of late. But as much as I believe you are right in that those older ladies were suppose to portray toxic femininity just like Joe and his male version, the message was not as well put across and they were played almost "holy". I never got the same feel that old lady was shown to be as bad as Joe. They played the scene out and her to be an almost "Voice of truth" For me, her character and most of those ladies of that place brought the film down for me. Once they were out of the picture and the focus went back to Furiosa and Max, I was much more invested into the story. The character of Furiosa has great potential and I am optimistic. As much as I would like to see another Max based film (still think they can get Mel back to do another) I know we have had more than a few Max stories and its fine to tell another point of view. I only hope the trope of late of "Gender Politics" does not come too much into play in this film and its done with the right balance George has shown in the past.

And thinking a while after analyzing the movie, just the character arc of NUX echoes what Furiosa said she was looking for.. redemption. NUX felt that he had failed Immortan Joe, but found kindness and compassion...maybe love. And sacrificed himself for the good of it all and Capable accept his soul as a Valkyrie to enter Valhalla,....he didn't yell out his witness, he mouthed it quietly to her..... it's heart breaking really. The ravens are the clue.
@@gutz1981 Yeah, George Miller is really good at making his Mad Max films show two sides of the coin, nothing is truly one dimensional. And the fact the Vuvalini were not really supposed to be 'holy' is something that I learned when I talked to Colin Gibson. I was asking about the Crow Fishers (those things on stilts walking through mud) and he gave me their entire backstory. Turned out those were men left behind in the Green Place by all of the women who blamed all men for the destruction of the Green Place. The women (Vuvalini) only visit that place for some odd 'milking ritual' which is essentially using males only for procreation and if the Vuvalini gave birth to boys they'd banish them to walk that swamp. Add to it that they pretty much shoot all men on sight, Furiosa has to convince them that Max and Nux are the good guys, them hoping that Dag gives birth to a girl etc... There was more of that kind of attitude in earlier stages of Fury Road's production, for example after Furiosa takes over the Citadel, it was Toast the Knowing who claimed herself as the new ruler of the Citadel by applying Immortan's paint all over herself and people switched from chanting "Him Him Him" to "She She She". So the message of Fury Road was originally different from what we ultimately got on screen. I don't know why but that angle got almost removed from the film and there's only remnants of it like some bits of dialogue from the Vuvalini. Anyway, the thing about Furiosa, the film, is that it's going to piss off a lot of fans of Furiosa as a character, especially those who revere her as this heroic feminist model. She really is no saint in that film, and we got a little bit of a taste of that when she was presented in the prequel comic book. Some folks got really angry at how things were portrayed in that comic book to the point Mark Sexton - the man who drew those comics started getting death threats. So now imagine that, but a film. It's going to be really interesting to see how people are going to react to that.
@@MadMaxBible Wow, that's interesting. I wonder how they could have portrayed that nasty backstory of how they rejected the men and sentenced them to such a place. Too many films want to avoid showing women in any negative light, where when it comes to men, its free game. I feel anybody from any walk of live can be toxic. Be it man, woman, straight, gay or of colour or other orientations. I like how Max and Furiosa are in the middle, survivors and not into any idea of "I am better than them." or "They are worse than me." They saw the value of a fellow warrior. Really wish they had shown just how nasty those women were as you described via the backstory. It would have been fair in showing that no one is above being cruel. But instead, too many messages of "Men ruined the world." was left in. I never got that feeling from the first three films at all.
Are we gonna actually see Gastown, Bullet Farm, and the Citadel more in depth? also, I wonder if this is gonna help fill in the gaps between old mad max and new. Like how long has it been since the fall because in fury road it says 32 years but that is highly unlikely I think that was an oversight due to Max’s age. I think if you really fudge the numbers you can make it 25-27 but I doubt 30.

Yahya Abdul Mateen’s character is named PRAETORIAN ! His name was revealed along side Hemsworth’s character on the casting call

@@MadMaxBible I will agree, George Miller does strong characters like Max and females ones like Warrior Woman, Aunty and Furiosa well, he is one of the few like James Cameron who knows how to make a female character be strong and not play into too much of the gender politics we see of late. But as much as I believe you are right in that those older ladies were suppose to portray toxic femininity just like Joe and his male version, the message was not as well put across and they were played almost "holy". I never got the same feel that old lady was shown to be as bad as Joe. They played the scene out and her to be an almost "Voice of truth" For me, her character and most of those ladies of that place brought the film down for me. Once they were out of the picture and the focus went back to Furiosa and Max, I was much more invested into the story. The character of Furiosa has great potential and I am optimistic. As much as I would like to see another Max based film (still think they can get Mel back to do another) I know we have had more than a few Max stories and its fine to tell another point of view. I only hope the trope of late of "Gender Politics" does not come too much into play in this film and its done with the right balance George has shown in the past.
@@MadMaxBible That's exactly what I interpreted, the mothers are no different then the other tribes. And thinking a while after analyzing the movie, just the character arc of NUX echoes what Furiosa said she was looking for.. redemption.
NUX felt that he had failed Immortan Joe, but found kindness and compassion...maybe love. And sacrificed himself for the good of it all and Capable accept his soul as a Valkyrie to enter Valhalla,....he didn't yell out his witness, he mouthed it quietly to her..... it's heart breaking really. The ravens are the clue.
@@gutz1981 Yeah, George Miller is really good at making his Mad Max films show two sides of the coin, nothing is truly one dimensional. And the fact the Vuvalini were not really supposed to be 'holy' is something that I learned when I talked to Colin Gibson. I was asking about the Crow Fishers (those things on stilts walking through mud) and he gave me their entire backstory. Turned out those were men left behind in the Green Place by all of the women who blamed all men for the destruction of the Green Place. The women (Vuvalini) only visit that place for some odd 'milking ritual' which is essentially using males only for procreation and if the Vuvalini gave birth to boys they'd banish them to walk that swamp. Add to it that they pretty much shoot all men on sight, Furiosa has to convince them that Max and Nux are the good guys, them hoping that Dag gives birth to a girl etc...
There was more of that kind of attitude in earlier stages of Fury Road's production, for example after Furiosa takes over the Citadel, it was Toast the Knowing who claimed herself as the new ruler of the Citadel by applying Immortan's paint all over herself and people switched from chanting "Him Him Him" to "She She She". So the message of Fury Road was originally different from what we ultimately got on screen. I don't know why but that angle got almost removed from the film and there's only remnants of it like some bits of dialogue from the Vuvalini.
Anyway, the thing about Furiosa, the film, is that it's going to piss off a lot of fans of Furiosa as a character, especially those who revere her as this heroic feminist model. She really is no saint in that film, and we got a little bit of a taste of that when she was presented in the prequel comic book. Some folks got really angry at how things were portrayed in that comic book to the point Mark Sexton - the man who drew those comics started getting death threats. So now imagine that, but a film. It's going to be really interesting to see how people are going to react to that.
@@MadMaxBible Wow, that's interesting. I wonder how they could have portrayed that nasty backstory of how they rejected the men and sentenced them to such a place. Too many films want to avoid showing women in any negative light, where when it comes to men, its free game. I feel anybody from any walk of live can be toxic. Be it man, woman, straight, gay or of colour or other orientations. I like how Max and Furiosa are in the middle, survivors and not into any idea of "I am better than them." or "They are worse than me." They saw the value of a fellow warrior. Really wish they had shown just how nasty those women were as you described via the backstory. It would have been fair in showing that no one is above being cruel. But instead, too many messages of "Men ruined the world." was left in. I never got that feeling from the first three films at all.
I want more Mad Max, not other characters. But ok.
Are we gonna actually see Gastown, Bullet Farm, and the Citadel more in depth? also, I wonder if this is gonna help fill in the gaps between old mad max and new. Like how long has it been since the fall because in fury road it says 32 years but that is highly unlikely I think that was an oversight due to Max’s age. I think if you really fudge the numbers you can make it 25-27 but I doubt 30.
