    Dude, I seriously admire how clean your xj is. I’m a person who admires an overall stock/factory looking vehicle in a sea of modded and riced out ones, especially when it comes to an XJ. I hope to one day get my XJ as clean as yours. I’ve got a lot on my list that includes but isn’t limited to: crankshaft position sensor, new brakes all around and new front brake lines, fix the handbrake cable since it’s completely rusted through and doesn’t work, replace sagging headliner, fog lights, figure out how to get the radio working because it won’t turn on at all even though I replaced the fuse (I’m at the point where I’m going to take it to a specialist to diagnose and fix what’s wrong with the radio), interior dome light cover (can’t find one anywhere online so I will have to search the junkyards in my area until I find one), some BF Goodrich KO2s, and some tints. Like I said, the list goes on but these are the main things I’d like to get done first before anything else. My biggest concern is my radio because I don’t want to have to replace it to some aftermarket POS, I much prefer keeping the factory look of the original radio so I’m trying anything and everything I can to get it to work.

      It’s a never ending list with these things but it’s always satisfying when you cross something off that list. I agree I also prefer the stock and preserved look of these things. Appreciate it!

      @@KCars A never ending list is right, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Every time I get in the car I find something that could use a replacement. Don’t even get me started with the manual transmission components. My clutch is completely burned out and starts to smoke real bad after a few minutes of driving so I can’t drive it much until I get that replaced. It’s going to be a costly repair but with that being said I’m content with spending the money on that repair since there isn’t many left with the manual transmission.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. I’m kinda jealous you were able to get one with the manual

      @@KCars it wasn’t even for sale it was just a spontaneous opportunity and a decision I had to make on the spot before the family of the original owner donated it to CarsForKids. It ran perfectly fine other than the clutch issue and they didn’t want to deal with fixing it since they already drive new vehicles. I just got really lucky.

      Sounds like a steal, these things barely even last a couple days once they go up for sale. I got mine the day after it was posted on marketplace and the owner told me that he was already getting many offers on it

    headliner looks in decent shape. upholstery shop would reshoot with glue so its not sagging. probably easiest route rather than full replacement.

    • @KCars
      @KCars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never worked with upholstery but that’s definitely something I’ll have to consider

      @@KCars ill send you over the glue to use for reshooting. Definitely best cost effective option. good luck and nice work on the xj. Definitely helped me on a few items already.

    Great video. I have been enjoying the mods you are making to your XJ. I have the same XJ on 31's and have made some of the same mods. I've made a couple mods that you may like (1) switching out the orange blinker plates for white (with an orange LED bulb). Modernizes the look without any orange reflectors. (2) I invested in having Dynamat sound deadener installed throughout - made a huge difference. The XJ's were made with no sound proofing. Installing Dynamat is not cheap but, made a big difference. (3) Lastly, you can order a double din bezel and install a 7" touchscreen radio. This really modernizes the interior. Nothing needs to be cut, there is already plenty of room - you only need to switch out the factory bezel. Just some suggestions. You have a great looking jeep.
