@@allenbullock5 HUH? Her DNA matches with people from Africa. Native Americans have a unique DNA. Any black person in America will have their DNA trace back to Africa. Yes indigenous Americans are dark, but they are not black afro type. They are dark red straight hair types. Where are these so called black native people you are talking about then? Because any black person who gets tested in America is going to come back African. Thats because yall are from Africa.

Blessings to your grandmother. The confusion that comes with the DNA tests is that the companies use the Asian-Native American as a criteria for what's the American Indian blood type. Hundreds of years ago the American Indian looked like your grandmother, not the Asian American. This has been documented. That's why 'Black' grandparents said they were Indian. Not because they were mixed with Asians. You also have to be careful of the testing companies, they said they're just guessing and it's for entertainment purposes.

Her DNA is equivalent to her having 3 grandparents who were pure African and the 4th grandparent being half African, quarter European, and quarter Native American. But her actual ancestry is no doubt more complicated than that, such as her European ancestry is probably from 2 or 3 lines further back rather than 1 line.

Mickey F'in Mouse you are right. The Mande people are originally from the Empire of Mali. A lot of the Mande migrated west on something called the Mane Invasion in 15th Century after the Empire of Mali went into decline and the Empire of Songhay became a successor State. That invasion is how so many Mande people ended up in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia, which is where many of them were enslaved during tribal warfare and sent to the Americas. Some of the Mande groups that were enslaved were the Mende, Mandingos, Susu, Vai, Loko, Kpelle and others.

AB Original Right n Exact AB... they fail to comprehend that there are the Siberian Mongoloid Native Americans and the 9 Ether Melanoid/Negroid Aborigine American. 2 clearly different groups of Americans.
How are they going to challenge and discard Grandma's history and denote it to Africa.
Did they even ask grandma does she have family from Africa? Any relatives? Or even heard of relatives from Africa. Walter Plecker's reclassification policy did a number on us and the simple minded offspring today is perpetuating it...smgdh.
Umm excuse me if you've been here for thousands of years this is home let's cut the dumb sh*t ppl.
I mean we are Negroids and obviously we are going to have similarities but please understand, "DNA kits are good for connecting family members and finding relatives thats it!

Your results show if you thought you are of Mexican / latino heritage, you are correct. Mexicans are native to the land. Mexicans and Spanish people are different. One from Europe, the other being native like all other Native Americans. The Mexican people are the most torn down people in all of history because they were striped of their native languages, and were told that our decendants were all dead, which is not true. In your dna, if it says native american, it could include Mexican history as well. My husband is FULL blood Navajo. My mom tested her dna before me, and my husband and my mom are 8th generation cousins. In a way, I am related to my own husband. Because we are the same people. My own father speaks Nahuatl. He passed away unfortunately so I am unable to retrieve a dna test. But I took one myself and in my own, I got 80 percent native american/mexico. Because we are the same people. My mom says my father was full blood, too. I believe it. My mom is maybe 60 percent native american/mexico. You can find more about what you are in more depth if you download the raw data and input it into dnamatch. I don't understand the reason people think Mexicans don't like to hear they are part black. I already know everyone gets that result. It is in the bible, too.

Ok there are alot of things to point out here.
      1. before Mexico gained it's independence from Spain it was filled with many indigenous peoples like North and South America for thousands of years and none of those peoples were "Mexicans" they had their own distinct cultures.
      2. Most native american peoples are related to siberian and eastern asian peoples because of the Bering land bridge migration. There is so far only 1 piece of evidence pointing to any human activity in North America before 12,000 years ago when this migration took place.
      3. DNA and historical evidence shows that most people descended from Africans who were brought to the Americas had closer ancestry to Europeans than the native tribes because of the proximity. This is also the case for many latin peoples including modern Mexicans who are mostly of European Spanish descent. The huge influence and expansion of the Spanish almost completely eradicated many of the natives during the Small Pox epidemic. Many African and Spanish people do not have significant DNA matches to other native people compared to many of the European colonizers who settled in the original 13 colonies. There was much more intermingling and contact between these groups than in South and Latin America where the Spanish attempted to eradicate the native populations. Many of the native tribes were typically either slave holders themselves, or they returned runaway slaves to the colonies as there were rewards for doing so. If you have African portions of your DNA it is probably more recent and most likely happened after the end of the Civil War when many former slaves began moving westward. It should also be mentioned that ALL humans are said to have come from Africa and migrated to areas like Annatolia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East so at some point we are all related.
      4. This is all about science and data please refrain from using biblical references. It is appropriate in other scenarios but this isnt one of them. The Hebrew bible was not even written during the period that it's events occurred in and archeological evidence shows many of the events portrayed in the bible never occurred in the first place like Solomon building the Temple in Jerusalem or the existence of kingdoms in Israel in the first place. It is theorized that the 12 tribes and their kings were more akin to warlords like Gilgamesh in Sumerian legend.

@Carolynska S DNA doesn't work as easily as that. In every pregnancy there is a different mix of genes. Siblings usually inherit a different set of genes from each other. You have two parents, four grandparents, eight great grandparents, sixteen great great grandparents, you can see where I'm going with this.😂 Every child will have a unique mixture of inherited genes, so you will not be axactly the same as your siblings. Sometimes I imagine you could be very different from your brothers and sisters, that's what makes it fascinating. My brother has had a DNA test, I have sent for one. I'm looking forward to seeing the result. Another factor is the fact that mitochondrial DNA is only passed down from mother to daughter, the Y chromosome is only passed down from father to son.

Gullah Hebrew your name is somewhat of an oxymoron seeing that there were no Jews a midst the Gullah African enslaved population, nor is there any record of Hebrew or Aramaic words in the Gullah Creole language. I am from the South Carolina low country where the Gullah culture is existent, bordering the Midlands. I even have a copy of renown Afro-American linguist’s book Lorenzo Dow Turner Africanisms in the Gullah language that has a detailed analysis of the large Gullah lexicon of West African, and West Central African loan words, and the New Testament printed in Gullah creole. I mean a midst your European percentages do you have European Jewish estimates? I know Charleston had a large white Sephardic Jewish community that settled there during South Carolina’s colonial era, and some of them interbred with their slaves, & some mulattoes came abroad slave ships enslaved and free of Portuguese Jewish paternity & West African mothers, but I know of no West African Jews beyond this sold.

Ive researched a lot of my family history as an African American. My thoughts are that, because of the pain of what often went on. people masked the obvious. So, being forced into "sexual situations" with Caucasians sometimes was "covered by saying that people had Native Ancestry". Natives too were persecuted by the majority culture and yes there was "some mixing". But, the so called 5 Civilized Tribes also owned slaves themselves and some practiced their own brand of discrimination. And they fought often times to keep African slaves from being identified as Native. So, after doing the research, a lot of Native ancestry actually turned out to be European ancestry by way of Slave Masters (or others) mixing sexually with slaves. I totally understand why this information might get suppressed. There was a lot of shame, division, and rejection by some within the Black community because of the affects of "Color-ism" on the community. But DNA simply tells the truth and clarifies without filtering.
Cherish your grandma while she is with you and gently collect as much information from her as you can. The oral history together with the science will bring a more complete nuanced understanding.

It needs to be understood. That your SMALLEST percentages mean YOUR EARLIEST ANCESTORS and the LARGEST PERCENTAGES means YOUR LATEST ancestors. So think about it like this, your lineages STARTED NATIVE AMERICAN and got Africanized. You were Native Americans who got Europeanized then Africanized. Most of us read these DNA in reversed. What your reading is actually how your Asian/Pacific Islander ancestry was "Black washed" so to speak.

I have so much love for y’all for doing this with your grandmother because I was a tad bit too young to understand the value before my grandmother and greats passed away
