There is a screw below the throttle control on the toro turfmaster hdx 30 that will come loose over time because it is spring loaded. If you tighten it back up you should have an increase in power. Also keeping the underside of the mower deck will help tremendously as well as replacing the belt that goes from the engine to the left blade
I love the set up. I have 2 05 Chevy Silverado. 1 is extended cab with 6 ft bed like yours. 1 is regular cab with 8 ft bed. I run a 5x8 trailer. Carry on. If you cut 2 pieces of plywood, 1 on top 1 on bottom of trimmer racks, they are even more solid on the truck bed.

Nice setup. You can also put the mowers on the truck with the proper ramp and probably not need the trailer.
That’s true but I prefer a trailer for now. Sometimes I’ll need the extra space on my truck bed for branches or other stuff

July- August was very slow with grass cutting since grass was all dead here in Dallas Texas area. flower bed and shrub jobs kept me busy
