    Would LOVE to see how you added the embellishment to the cuff you used as a template cuff. Stunning!!

    Great video.....could I use this tool to make 8 gauge and larger sterling silver round bracelets? Or would you recommend something different?

    Hi Melissa, I just purchased this tool from Otto Frei and they now carry it with the nylon parts as well. I thought you'd like to know. Thank you for this, it's certainly what made me want the tool. :)

      +Pepetools Thank YOU for making a great product and for adding these mandrels to it. Also for supporting people like Melissa so we can see how to use the tools! =D

    hi Melissa, great video as always. Thanks. Does this work harden the cuff as well? What is the smallest gauge metal to use for a cuff? Thanks so much in advance.

      +Bobbi Benton-Stewart yes. To a point it does work harden, it depends on the thickness of your metal. I don't like to use less than 22 for cuffs and 20 or 18 gauge is my go to.

    Hi Melissa, thank you for sharing your video's. I have learned so much from you, I am new at making flatware jewelry. Do you have a video on soldering silver plated flatware ? I see these hearts and crosses that are being made from the handles, can you please share how they are doing this, like do you use silver solder on the plated flatware? Cant wait to hear from you :)

      Cheryl, Thank you for the feedback. I don't know that I would ever try to solder on silver plated flatware. The reason is because you don't know what the base metal is. It is not even recommended that you heat the plated piece as it can put off quite toxic fumes. Now, if you find a sterling silver piece, that is a little different story. I have no problem heating or soldering onto a sterling piece.

    Love the video. Also love the silver bracelet on your left wrist. Do you have a tutorial for that or a resource on how to construct it? Thanks!

      Thank you. Yes, I do have a PDF Tutorial on that, but it isn't listed yet. And I am working on a video workshop showing how to make it.

    can i bend thick 3-4mm sterling silver?

    • @MelissaMuir
      @MelissaMuir  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      According to Pepetools, you should limit it to 16 gauge Which is about 1.3mm. Now having said that, I have bent 6 gauge wire (which is about 4.11mm) with the ring bender. It must be WELL ANNEALED. I make certain that the metal is quite malleable. I can only do a little bit with it before it becomes too stiff and must be annealed again. The important thing is to not apply too much force.

    Thank you Melissa! I am purchasing this ring bender and do not see the nylon round die you have for shaping the metal against the nylon curved dies. I see on your work table what appears to be a set of round nylon dies. Did you order those separately? I am not seeing them with the Pepe bender. So appreciate your video and time!

      Moira Donovan Me too, mine didn’t come with the round nylon insert, only the nylons outside forming pieces. ??? @MelissaMuir?? 😎👩🏼‍🎨🌵🔨

    Where would I get this bender

      There are a number of places you can get them, www.ToolCandyStore.com is one (that is Micro-Tools.) But I would consider looking at the Durston option as well. I really like it a lot. The finish is a bit better in my opinion. tidd.ly/2ITFkKB

      I have been bugging them to do it for years. It is one of the things that is on their prototyping list.
