    On the Semi regenerative braking has another advantage, it reduces brake wear which is a significant maintenance saving but also greatly reduces the pollution from the break pad wear material.

    Dear Zanegler. Learning to ride a drone is not that easy. Sometimes the viewer, gets a rollercoaster experience, which is not comfortable. Just like making a professional movie, there are some common rules according to zoom and panning, to avoid that. 1. Never zoom and pan at the same time. 2. Never pan when zooming. 3. Be carefull, not to tilt the drone while filming, but remain at the same angle, during a take. 4. Make a plan for the whole sequence, before you start. 5. When you are moving the drone forwards, always do it in a straight line, and try flying parrallel to the natural lines on the ground, like roads, rivers, long buildings, runways ect, and try to make turns in a 90 angle. Just like the real airline pilots(like Joe Tegmeyer), would do to assure the passengers a plesant ride. Have a nice day and keep up the good work my friend. Per in Denmark😎🇩🇰

    Great summary of some interesting insights. I particularly liked the input about the brakes remaining cool - brake failure due to brake degradation and over-heating is much more common than people realise and certainly more common than hydraulic failure.

    One reason it may seem that diesel semis maintain a consistent speed or accelerate slightly when going downhill is to allow their brakes time to cool. Unlike electric semis, which utilize regenerative braking to slow down and recover energy, diesel trucks rely solely on traditional braking systems. By managing their speed strategically, drivers aim to prevent brake overheating and maintain safe operation over long descents.

    On steeper down gradients, diesel trucks, especially if heavily loaded, should keep a low speed for reasons of safety. On a 7% down-gradient like is the case on I-70 between the western portal of the Eisenhower Tunnel and Dillon, Co, the Colorado Department of Transportation recommends a speed as low as 30 mph to max-loaded trucks. Here in France, where I live, truck speed is often limited to 70 km/h (44 mph) on steep down gradients.
    Electric trucks do not have this issue, as they have regenerative breaking that is as powerful as their engine(s) is (are). Now, where the special speed limit is mandatory, and not just recommended, the e-trucks are, for the time being, not exempt from respecting it. But some companies operating fleets of e-trucks are lobbying for that to change.

    Hi! I just subscribed to your most informative channel! Awesome work, kudos!
    Would you know, or if not could you find out, whether the Tesla Semi has or will have in its final version, an AC electrical outlet usable top power a reefer trailer? The information seems to be nowhere on the internet!
    It would be most useful for companies doing a lot of refrigerated transports. If not, it would mean that the reefer would have to be powered all the time by its own diesel generator, consuming 1.5-2 gallons per hour... INCLUDING during overnight rest periods obviously... which obviously pollutes a lot, but also cost north of $10k per year, per trailer. All that the refrigeration unit consumes is 8 kW on average, so it would not impact the Semi's range much, should it draw on the main battery.
