Thank you! I inherited a garage machine shop. I've been doing some stuff the hard way. I'm trying to cut a taper in my homemade model airplane engine. I really appreciate this video!

thank you sir! for such presentation of your knowledge.
more videos on all turning operations and how to cut various thread profiles on lathe, and afterwards how to measure cut threads will be helpful and also will be appreciated.

Thank you for the video! I'm taking a beginner machining class in high school and my teacher doesn't explain mug of what to do. So, I have to look up a bunch of the procedures online. This video helped so much :)

Check out Abom79 and This Old Tony. They have lots and lots of educational videos on lathe and milling technique.

Here i am making 45 degree taper spinning both the cross slide and the bed at the same time using the feel of resistance on the handles while looking at my cut. It was reallllyyyy good for how wrong I was doing it...

Not too many lucky enough to have a taper attachment though. How about offsetting the tail stock as a third and common option ?

Thank you. I wondered what a taper attachment was like. So ok I want to turn an MT2 taper, it the cross slide angle good enough or is there a better way?

How does the taper attachment override the cross feed screw & nut? Is there some way to disengage it?

you should check if the mechanism is properly lubricated.
