I owned one brand new summer of 69 the smell, the sound, the freedom, Gas was $0.15 a gallon. Beach dances at the local lake and gym, girls were beautiful and I was 16.
My Dad passed away 2.5 years ago and shortly after his death I had to make the decision to buy his old home or let the bank foreclose on it. I couldn't let the bank have it so I've been struggling w/ two mortgages ever since. Went to clean out his garage and under a mountain of insulation was a 1968 CB350 Super sport. I restored it. It's just like this bike but mine is blue and white... and 1 year older.
I had that exact bike, in near the same condition. Got it for mowing lawns one summer ('84?) from a widow who dropped it during her test and never tried again. Less than 2K miles. It was my first motorized vehicle, and my first licensed vehicle. Rode it to high school my senior year, and even gained some cred from the cool kids, since although small, it was classic and chromed. I wish I still had it.
July 1969, l bought my 1969 K1 CB350 (always thought it was a K0, but only just realised it was a K1, because it had the tank with the stripe like the one shown. I still have the 1969 Honda brochure for this bike). It replaced my 1968 CB175, which had replaced my 1966 S90. The CB350 was simply beautiful and bulletproof. I loved that bike, but, sadly, kept it for only 1 year because I loved a girl more and so got a car instead. Being too poor to keep my CB350, I sold it to my brother. It remains the best bike l ever owned and l still grieve for it.
Beautiful. It is from the Honda "Hell Cat" series that came out in 1968 and pushed Honda to the top in motorcycle sales. They came in 250, 350 and 450 CC. The 350 was the most popular and the CB450 was beating the Triumphs and BSA at drag races. The entry of the Honda 750 4 cyl blew away all competition at that time. Yes I am old enough to remember. I got my first Honda 150 Dream in 1967.The 1969 Honda CB350 is a beautiful compromise of small in town bike with enough power for free way use.
@@NPMCaptain It wouldn't be the same now. I've gotten used to my Honda 1300R but the memories are still good and it was nice to see a 350 looking that good.
@@JohnSmith-cf4gn It's true that it certainly wouldn't be the same, keep the good memories. I have several other Classics but I really like my brand new Kawasaki Z900RS. Have a good rides with your CB1300
my brother had a 69, and i had a 73. the 69 seemed to be just a tad faster than my 73. he would always pull away from me on the freeway. mine didnt have the steering stabilizer.
One sickly motorcycle! I've got a ruby red, or 'Ruby red orange sun baked' colored '71 350! wanting to get her started, needs new timing chain! and an overhaul.
Cristian Velazquez nesta época a tecnologia já era muito avançada, o homem foi a lua controlado por computadores. No Vietnam bombas eram guiadas a laser e a Honda fazia motos como essa e a CB750K
Great looking bike! I’m looking for a first bike to buy. Like to get an older bike. Would you recommend cb 250 or 350? I don’t want something too heavy but a fun bike for casual riding. Thanks
Video 9 years old, I hope the bike still looks OK. This shows a very well finished restoration. 0:13 I was wondering if you sprayed the frame from spray cans?
Liam Murphy hello Liam, thanks. Remains almost the same despite living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, right on the beach. It is washed and I use WD-40 from time to time
@69roadr Hi there. Nice to know that ... what year did you have these bikes? The 1969 engine was more "nervous" went to 10,500 while the 1973 (Model G with front disk brake) was more "gentle" with the limit of 9,200 rpm. The engine power was the same with 36 hp and the same top speed,105 mph/170 km. Thanks for viewing and comment.
The classic racer crowd manages to get almost twice the power out of the 350 Honda twins without any apparent loss of reliability, so I would say this is as close to a bullet proof bike as you'd ever likely to get...
Why do people butcher these beautiful machines and turn them into cafes??? Anyways, I have a mint 1972 CB350 and a friend at work has a near mint CL350.
Damn nice bike.I had one of these 40 years ago(my first bike) now in 2013 I'm restoring CB750K1's to better than new condition.Just sold my lastest build for $23,000 US.The 1968 Honda CB250K0 in Pine Green & White was a nice little bike to learn to ride on.You've done a great job-I'm just wondering how hard it is to find the parts.Seeya from Australia.
No, not at all. If reasonably maintained, the 350 engines are over engineered, if anything. And the fours won't have any head gasket failures either, if you follow the factory maintenance routine... Nothing like the ol' brit bikes, where you check the fuel level and fill up the oil... :-)
Pco, a respeito de teu radiador, é muito facil adptar ou recuperar existem muitas empresas e autonomos que podem fazer isto com um custo baixo.... Tua moto é show nao vi nd igual... abraco...
Just this once I'm going to offer you a trade. My un-restored 1976 Yamaha DT 400 for your bike. I know I'll live to regret it in the morning but I think you will be a very happy chap. So what do you say, do we have a deal?
Hi Martin, send me your email and i can show you with pics how to fix, and works, the steering dumper on your lower tree. Thanks for the compliments. Regards
These bikes have the worst vibration of anything I've ridden. The seat is very uncomfortable. The handling is twitchy, and the brakes are poor. I don't know why they sold. I couldn't get rid of mine fast enough!
What a Beauty!! I gust got one and looking forward getting it running , restored and back on the road. Thank you for sharing this fantastic CB350!

EXACTLY, but you forgot to mention that many of these "Cafe Racer" projects go wrong and they end up scrapping a good bike
