    1973 Honda CB350 Four, "Turning it up to Eleven"....no music, just the pure sound of the engine. I went for a little ride this evening, so I decided to film it. I normally shift at 10K RPM, but I got a little carried away. It's not super fast, but it's a fun little bike to rip around on. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

    My first bike in 1980, drove it up and down I-4 thru Downtown Orlando. Sack of fried potato wedges between my legs. High as hell on weed...great times!!! I miss those days.

      @@bogie1971 "...just too damn dangerous..." Exactly right. I quit riding several years ago after 40+ years of it just because of this. Way too many idiots on the road being distracted by their smartphones, nav systems, In-dash LCD TV sets. Law here says hands-free phones only while driving but I see people ignore & violate that law every single day. Sad really.....

    Thanks for the video, it made me feel as if I was riding it. Almost a VR feeling. That was my dad's bike. He bought the very first CB350 Four in Guatemala, and there weren't many of them around either. I was just a little kid when he purchased it, exact same color as yours. He changed the exhaust with a pair of Cherry Bomb exhausts, it amplified that sound, it was sick!. My brother is 10 years older than me, so he got to ride it through his teenage years, once I got there, the bike was out of commission in our garage. My dad sold it before I got a chance to enjoy it. I was able to take it out one time and took a girl out for a short spin. Good times.....

      "Lots of torque in those old engines"
      I need to speak up about that statement. In 1985 I owned and drove an early 550 Honda 4-cylinder bike. My co-worker had a 350 like in this well made video. As our weights matched the bike's performance levels, we shared like experiences in riding these machines. At low rpms they both had a hard time getting out of their own way! Mine started coming on the pipe at around 6000 rpms, and had serious thrust at 9000. Warren's bike shared similar figures. When I rode his bike, with it's 50 cent piece size pistons, I thought I would need to pedal when I tried to get going! That, or slip the clutch excessively...
      The engine torque subject is easily misunderstood. The basic rules are:
      Horsepower gets the job done. Period!
      Torque PLUS movement, linear or rotational, equals horsepower... End.
      Thus, a small engine, with an 11,000 rpm redline, has a modest, at best, amount of torque, but, with lots of speed, can build respectable power.

    cool bike. every time you take an old bike like that and go into the red line you take a little life off of the engine. It's your bike but if I had a beautiful classic like that I would keep it out of the red line. When I was a teen back in 72 this was my first dream bike. In 72 I had a little Yamaha 100 Enduro. Later got the 125 Enduro. Later the Suzuki 250 twin two stroke street bike. Much later the Yamaha v star 650. Then a 1981 Honda 400 twin. Then a Kawasaki 1500 vulcan. Finally a Honda VTX 1300 .... which I still have. Hondas are the best. I still wish I had one of those 73 350 fours. They are still to this day super super cool.

    I remember the early Honda 4 cylinder bikes. I had a Triumph Bonneville back then but the sound of a 4 cylinder Honda was much more impressive when tapping the throttle. So responsive!

    Enjoyed the ride! You ever get the lagging speedo sorted out? I had that on my CB750, it was a bad speedo cable.

    What was that town you were riding through ??? Its really refreshing to see the landscape there . When I go to Mt Vernon I always think look at all of this beautiful land .Deer everywhere ,farms. Then I think about East St Louis and downtown St Louis . Why would anyone live there ??? Its more dangerous than iraq . You really have to watch the highways this time of year . The deer are running hard

    • @RamblinAround
      @RamblinAround  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do have a ton of deer running around here, that's for sure. We're about 25 - 30 minutes from the JB bridge.
