Great suggestion! Yeah, the Kozilek/Titan always raises the cost. I'm willing to bet you can run a Witherbloom Apprentice package for some effect... Gitrog is a fun/unique challenge, for sure.
I think you gotta do the Dakmor with Scourge Familiar and Elixir of Immortality. Might be difficult cause you gotta make sure Elixir doesn't get milled
@@LocalGameGroup idk if led is played honestly I myself have a muldrotha edh deck but it's definitely not tip tier and it's definitely not 99 budget lol but would still be a kool one to try and pull off on a budget
I was thinking about doing an updated, "definitive" primer on her... Was curious to see if that was of interest. However, would also love to do a $99 brew.
@@LocalGameGroup personally id love either. She's just a super fun deck. Also i think she would be easier to do on a budget than others because she supplies both mana ramp and card draw on her own.
I think it's entirely possible to make a competitive budget deck, the issue comes when you're looking for a budget competitive deck -- There's a difference, albeit separated by wafer-thin semantics. Looking forward to seeing more like this! Especially if you find a good build for an uncommon legendary!
Mangara, the diplomat! For casual commander drawing cards is the way to go. For competitive tutoring the exact card you need is what you need to do to win.
great deck tech! Budget najeela next please! I'm trying to make Radha Heart of keld competitive list and would love to hear your take on her! Keep up the good work!
For competitive, definitely tutor effects. Being able to find the exact pieces necessary to win is extremely valuable. That being said, drawing cards is personally more important for me. Drawing cards and getting that advantage is extremely valuable and can let you get ahead by drawing good removal or any answers necessary to let you win the game. As well as smoothing land drops and naturally getting key pieces without telling the whole table you got them like tutors
Budget decks are great they bring more to creativity and uniqueness if you spend a lot of money you end up with all the same staples cause it turns out they’re expensive because they’re really good nice video
Is this going to be a series? I really hope that you can try to make a playlist about budget cedh brews. I am trying to learn how to make one, but I do not know what commanders to choose. I am trying to make a Syr Carah deck, since she seemed easy to make, but can you make a deck around her for 99$? Edit: Also considering Toolbox Mairsil, the Pretender. Some ideas for your channel. Keep up the great vids!
Really loved the vid. I hope to see an Etali list in the future, since it kind of has a similar "attitude" of going sideways asap. I know it can't be competitive, since you literally have no control on what you're getting, but it's so funny to use other people's stuff while also denying them of it.
Man, I remember ripping Etali out of a pack... I was so excited. I still get exited looking at that card. I'm a huge fan of value effects along the Etali-vein.
I think for casual specifically, part of the fun is trying to piece together a solution from what you have instead of just tutoring up the best answer every time. However, I do see the value in tutoring to make games less frustrating and more consistent.
I totally understand this view and have had my casual fun with this mindset as well, but over time I’ve grown to love that same thing in deckbuilding. Figuring out what solutions, answers, support cards etc to put in my 99 out of all the available options is a lot of fun for me, similar to the gameplay experience you described. So my decks end up very optimized rather than janky, but mostly because i like going through the challenge of making an efficient list that succeeds in its gameplan.
Bag of holding has popped up so often in my lists recently, i remember being disappointed by every copy i pulled out of M20, but the card just gets more attractive with every new Set that comes out! I am glad that i have like 6 copies now!
@@LocalGameGroup Yeah it just really read to me as a card with good potential and I don't even play cEDH, I just enjoy your content and I'm trying to use your list here as a way to tune an Etali deck. A quick google search showed people already found a turn 2 infinite red mana with First Day of Class, skirk prospector, dark ritual and putrid goblin. But I'm sure it could also win in a combo with infinite walking ballista recursion or generate infinite green with something like devoted druid.
Maybe a Jadzi list? Its pretty new but I feel like you can get away with a list that would feel really good even at a $100 budget. Maybe with a Dramatic Scepter line?
Can you do a budget bulid of Olivia the original one. I really love the commander in normal edh but I been trying to get in to the format and I would love a cheaper version of the deck
So, we don't have that much rummage outside of Neheb; and if Neheb's swinging he's over summoning sickness. For the most part, Anger adds little to the list outside of being discard fodder for other creatures to benefit. However, you can definitely include it if you like.
I don't think you get to benefit the Mask of Memories rummaging ability with Neheb, since it's a different triggered ability and you let them resolve in your chosen order. They're still different triggers, right?
You'll place Neheb's Trigger then Mask's and proceed to resolve them, "first in, last out." Mask resolves leaving you with X+1 cards, then you do Neheb's damage trigger.
@@LocalGameGroup That is correct, but if you have 6 or more cards and you let these triggers resolve as such Neheb's trigger resolving last will only result you gaining 5 discards and 5 mana in the end. I do see it's a good card for card selection!
nice list, but not including key to the city in a neheb, dreadhorde champion deck seems like a crime to me ... or maybe i'm just biased because that card won me a lot of games
Dang, the damage was that real? Haha, you can definitely add it! It makes sense here. Maybe even go Key > Mazemind, that's a fine switch. Roughly the same costs.
I think you either got the legion warboss wrong, or I heard you wrong, but it can't mentor itself, cause mentor needs a creature with lesser power, and it can't have less power than itself. Other than that, great video
I feel like casual Commander is going to be left in the dust one day soon. Wizards keeps printing higher powered cards for Commander and it's so easy to throw an infinite combo into most cheap decks now that can consistently net you wins turn 6-7. Competitive is where the format is heading.
Mmm, not so high on it. Only because it could lead to benefitting my opponents... So my concern is *who get's the most out of it.* If more games lean towards you, it's good. Else wise, not so much.
How would you go about upgrading this deck? I got sold on it but being a old player i am like ok what do i do with the expensive stuff i got in this box 🤣
Hahaha, true true... I would like to imagine we'd "screw budget" for the Legendary/Legendaries, yeah. I don't *feel* they should add to the total, but for others they will. It's a tough call.
Instant like for the words "budget" and "competitive" in the same sentence. Godspeed brother
Instant heart for using the words "like" and "brother" in your comment. Thanks!
i realize it's pretty off topic but does anybody know a good site to watch newly released movies online?
@Javier Ariel Try FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@LocalGameGroup any chance you will make a sen triplets cmdr deck?
Well done, I love this build. I would love to see a budget version of "Balan, Wandering Knight".
Ohhh! I would love that as well, haha. Balan is my bae
I think there’s a certain guest you could have on to make a $100 Naru Meha deck
