@@iansamuel1811 Derevi is *by far* the most annoying one ! Sure, you can build a Stasis deck around either, but Derevi allowing you to - very slowly - untap your lands and creatures to get out from under your own Stasis and Winter Orb while killing players one by one excrutiatingly slowly really is the icing on the cake ! The "best" part: At least one of the other players won't surrender, so there is no point in surrendering yourself, leading to 45+ minutes of playing draw-go while hoping to draw 3 lands in a row to, maybe, cast and resolve a spell against the Derevi player . . .

I started playing EDH with my playgroup 10 years ago. We didn't know much about the format, didn't do much research, and didn't bought any new cards, just builded a deck apiece from our existing card collection. My first choice for commander would have been Tibor and Lumia (still one of my favorite legends today), but than I spotted this card in my binder. It was a new card, a foil one; I opend it just a few days prior from a booster. It wasn't my charachteristic colors at all (no blue, neither black, and just a little bit of red), but it looked like an effective choice. I builded the deck, and I took it to our next game session. The card was, of course, Uril, the Miststalker. And I won all of our commander matches for a long time. My friends weren't too happy about it. After a while, I builded other decks, and the balance was restored... but I still have that first Uril-deck, and I still update it time to time. It's a good reminder of that time, when I accidentally chose one of the most powerful and evil commander, without knowing what I was doing.

You sir are a truly creative and entertaining content creator. I want a legendary creature referencing "tolarian professor" to play as a commander. Thank you for your hard work!!
Some relatable content at last! It should also be noted that Tangle Wire player gets extra value both from removing a counter before tapping and tapping it to its own trigger
Mate, you built brago wrong, where's your staxs pieces? You play your stax pieces then use brago to untap your mana rocks. That's how to do it evilllllyyyyy
Every Brago deck starts out like the one he made. 'I just want to get flicker value', you think. But even then, you still attract a lot of hate. So you put in defensive pieces. Your deck gets faster. You realize the need to slow everyone down. Soon enough, you've got winter orb, static orb, tangle wire, along with mana rocks sitting on the board going 'if I can just survive to the next turn I can go infinite.' It's turn five, by the way. We all start out the same. We Brago players just wanted some nice value... But as it turns out, the best value of all, is searching your deck three times a turn and assembling your victory combo while everyone else struggles to untap with more than three mana available.
I made and ran both a Narset deck, a Kaervek deck... My Narset deck got me instantly hated when I cast it turn one, so I can confirm the terribleness of it. But Kaervek actually works really well in my playgroup as it speeds the game up (as we only have short periods of time to play) in a fairly even manner. Other decks that are hated are Zur (for similar reasons of Brago), Niv Mizzet Pauran (because it goes eggs too often, sometimes on others turns) and Jodah (cheating out Omniscience turn 4 is busted). My playgroup also hates me when I play a lands matter deck that wins by vandablasting when a mycosynth lattice is on the field. The video was great though, I'd love to see more from the Tolarian State College.
My favorite evil combo: Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite (OG Norn) + Living Plane... Not only does it wipe all your opponent's lands, all new lands they play will die as a state based action before they can be tapped for mana. It's not as evil as Karn the Great Creator + Mycosynth Lattice, or Lattice + Darksteel Forge + Nevinyrral's Disk, of course. But it's evil in Selesnya colors which I think is just great.
I can permanently poison the playgroup? Excellent. Sweet revenge for all those times I was forced to play 2HG or someone had to "just resleeve my deck real quick before we start"
I see your Grand arbiter, and raise you a Norin the wary. A friend of mine used it in a 5 person (me included) commander match. Once he got it going with "Confusion in the Ranks" "Warp World" and "Grip of Chaos", it would take each player (roughly) 20 minutes to take their turn. After 3 turns, we basically ganged up on him and agreed to never let him use the deck again.
Professor this made me LOL like I just combined Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood with just a few life left in a bleed deck! My favorite video of 2019 so far.
I've actually played Grand Arbiter and I think someone in my favorite playgroup actually said "never play that deck again." I don't think I won but the game took FOREVER because of all the taxing and other evil shenanigans (Knowledge Pool was by far the most hated card).
I love the instructor and hope to see more of this guy., Just ramp up the evil. How about a skull and blood and fire, maybe enter with a cloak you remove.
Tergrid god of fright with continuous discard enchants and artifacts. Not only do you get rid of your opponents (entire) hands' but you steal them if they're permanents and get land ramp, allowing you to make them discard and sacrifice more. Pox, fraying omnipotence, gravepact, death cloud.
I can't believe the irony. I recently attended a sealed event at a new local game store, and met many commander players there. They were all new and had no idea of the cruelty of infinite turn locks from Narset.
I've played against every single one of those decks. I've beaten a few of them. I outpaced a damn good Grand Arbiter deck with my 8 and 1/2 tails deck. And that thing was pimped out with Sakashima the Impostor and everything! Surprised you didn't mention Vial Smasher.
I love Narset, and how many different ways there are to play her. There's combo based strats, but also "generally good instant and sorcery" ones like the professor showed, as well as voltron, and lock-out. Personally, I love playing a good lock-out-ish deck that plays just enough of the low budget lock-out cards to keep the deck in the game, even once you've become a big threat, plus a good enough voltron package to one-shot people, and a number of the extra combat/extra turn spells. Just sit back, play very non-threateningly, let everyone do their thing and attack around the table, then suddenly one-shot someone out of the game, and have enough stuff lined up so that your opponents can only attack you with two creatures, and have to pay 40 mana to do so
Who are your most hated, most annoying, and most evil commanders and why?
Every Commander Josh Lee Kwai plays!
I have breya and nekusar for when i feel im being evil. And recently changed my narset voltron to green/white cats, it seems to do alot very early on.
erayo is banned btw
Daretti Stax is filling the air with stagnation and misery...
I hsve been hating zur. cheating enchantments from your library (mostly necropotence) is super hard to deal

We all start out the same. We Brago players just wanted some nice value... But as it turns out, the best value of all, is searching your deck three times a turn and assembling your victory combo while everyone else struggles to untap with more than three mana available.
Haha, a buddy of mine has been perfecting Uril for some time now... So I built a Phenax nope deck full of big butts and mill wombo combos.
Uril is ok if you have someone running cards like dictate of Erebos and butcher of malakir with a deck built around it.
@@silverdeathgamer2907 Aura shards fucks uril pretty hard too.
Grand Arbiter Augustin VI is so miserable commander to play against.
Here's my response to your behaviour Instructor :
"Hatred outlives the hateful."
So, do we get TSU content based on your beard growing cycle?
Might have a selesnya "chill dude" edh soon again :D ?
He's got the goatee because he's an evil, alternate reality version of himself.
Please, more videos like this ! It's both fun and instructive !
I agree with Brago’s inclusion. As a Brago player myself I only play him every once in a while, so I don’t risk losing friends 😂
Professor this made me LOL like I just combined Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood with just a few life left in a bleed deck! My favorite video of 2019 so far.
I'm slightly offended my man Gaddock Teeg didn't make the list.
This probably is the best ad-sponsored show I'd ever watched. Skillshare picked the right man.
No Gaddock Teeg, Instructor? You’ve surprised me today.
Who needs blue or black to play stax? Lol
I've actually played Grand Arbiter and I think someone in my favorite playgroup actually said "never play that deck again." I don't think I won but the game took FOREVER because of all the taxing and other evil shenanigans (Knowledge Pool was by far the most hated card).
There's no match for Azami, Lady of Scrolls, when it comes to "evil commander"...
I have a Brago deck that runs every card you mentioned. My playgroup hates it. I feel so mischievous! Muahahahaha
The Instructor didn’t do his research, or he would know that Erayo is banned in EDH. Tsk tsk
To be fair, the Instructor didn't mention if that was for EDH.
Only if you use the ban list. Casual format, just saying...
Pretty sure any casual playgroup would slam you through the table if you played Erayo.
@@Gearhead221 indeed they would. People already want to kill you for even having blue on board.
I love the instructor and hope to see more of this guy., Just ramp up the evil. How about a skull and blood and fire, maybe enter with a cloak you remove.
This is exactly how I imagine Tibalt
Tergrid god of fright with continuous discard enchants and artifacts. Not only do you get rid of your opponents (entire) hands' but you steal them if they're permanents and get land ramp, allowing you to make them discard and sacrifice more. Pox, fraying omnipotence, gravepact, death cloud.
You forgot the Grand Arbitor's most valued posession... Helm of the Host
And you, sir, are the most evil of the day!
@@haroldschaefer If people are going to hate you for playing the Arbiter then you may as well give them a legitimate reason to do so :)
I can't believe the irony. I recently attended a sealed event at a new local game store, and met many commander players there. They were all new and had no idea of the cruelty of infinite turn locks from Narset.
I'm in love ❤😍💯💯 I run Lavinia very nice alternative to the Grand Arbiter
And more importantly people don't hate you out of the game before you get your locks in place.
@@jamesbourgeois1357 yup because you slow other Cedh so the other commander have a chance till .....No one but you play Mtg😉
I love your goofy video style prof! Very entertaining yet informative at the same time!(: keep up the good work!
The real evil in this video is the pronunciation of "Hidetsugu"
I've played against every single one of those decks.
I've beaten a few of them. I outpaced a damn good Grand Arbiter deck with my 8 and 1/2 tails deck. And that thing was pimped out with Sakashima the Impostor and everything!
Surprised you didn't mention Vial Smasher.
Just about everyone of these has “U” in it’s mana cost 🤣.
Psshhh thats just a coincidence ;);););)
Blue chunk of the color pie: *sweats nervously*
