    Thank you Scott for telling Primoz’s story so well… I started watching cycling seriously in the Covid year of 2020 and without knowing much history or the riders I had a connect with him and his straight forward attitude right away… after it sunk in what a big loss he suffered in the TDF 2020, his resilience and ability to rebound with amazing wins in the Vuelta, Olympics TT and now the Giro is exceptional… I hope this Giro win helps him to shed this image of the tragic and at times weak hero and get his cherished TDF victory and a place in the all time modern greats… Roglic is a hero difficult to bracket in any of our dimensions, but his ability and pure talent to win is unsurpassed.. I am sure he will get the TDF victory in his career too.. let’s see someone else beat him on a steep uphill sprint 😊

    Lots of heartbreaks in my life, but I shed more tears for this guy than all my girlfriends combined. What an emotional roller coaster is rooting for this guy. But it's worth it. He's a good dude. Great rider and he's still not done winning shit.

    I think he gained his superpower in that ski jump crash.

    UCI World Tour Grand Tour or one week Tour overall victories in the last 5 years :
    Roglic 14x = Vuelta 3x, Giro, Basque Country 2x, Romandie 2x, UAE, Tirreno Adriatico 2x, Paris-Nice, Dauphiné, Catalunya.
    Pogacar 7x = Tour 2x, UAE 2x, Tirreno Adriatico 2x, Paris-Nice.
    Evenepoel 3x = Vuelta, UAE, Poland.
    Vingegaard 2x = Tour, Basque Country.
    Do I need to say more ?

    Worldwide, Pog has got a much larger legion of fans. But in his home country, Rog appears to have greater popularity - if the thousands of Slovenians who had turned up to cheer him on at the ITT is any indicator.

    lets not forget LBL in 2020. not his force that loulou started to celebrate. that 2017 stage 17 was something else and first time i started paying attention.

  • @Luca_erre
    @Luca_erre ปีที่แล้ว +9

    In my opinion he should go to Tour de France, also without doing races before, maybe Just a short training Camp. For 3 reasons:
    After Pogacar crash in LBL nobody knows if he Will be at 100% for the Tour (a broken wrist is not a joke)
    Second: he has nothing to loose, if he win the Tour It's history, if not, that's ok anyway, he can help Vingeegard
    Third: if he goes to vuelta and win, It's great but It doesnt change his career.

    • @alesksander
      @alesksander ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think this is not good for his body. Sadly u need to be pragmatic. Vuelta this year and next year full attack on that elusive Tour. Maybe change teams and full send for tour ambitions till end of career.

    • @guptasaahil4u2
      @guptasaahil4u2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He shouldn't do Le Tour this year, after taking part in the Giro. Exactly 1 month to the Tour from now. Maybe La Vuelta 2023 and then definitely Le Tour 2024.
      You have to think from Jonas' perspective and that of the team as well. Jonas would like to come back to the Tour to defend his title. And the team TJV need to walk a tight rope by managing ambitions of so many world class road racers - Roglic, Jonas, WVA, Sepp Kuss (I think this American super climber could become a GC team leader soon).

    Wait a second: Roglic suffers a series of horrible injuries in a ski jump competition and he decides to quit the sport, take up a brand new one, and become pro in one year. That makes absolutely no sense. Other than requiring strong legs, ski jumping shares nothing in common with cycling. This guy has to be on the gear.

      Weight control is also common. Ski jumpers are very slim maybe even more then cyclists. He also made some tests which swhowed his incredible endurance capacities.
      That horrible ski jump accident hapened only 10 km from Monte Lussari, in Planica. Quite a story.

      After some physiological testing, one of his mentors / coaches pointed this out to a cycling team. Comparatively, I think Sepp Kuss entered the sport a little later in the game. I also find the Jay Vine story incredible as well.
