Thank you Scott for telling Primoz’s story so well… I started watching cycling seriously in the Covid year of 2020 and without knowing much history or the riders I had a connect with him and his straight forward attitude right away… after it sunk in what a big loss he suffered in the TDF 2020, his resilience and ability to rebound with amazing wins in the Vuelta, Olympics TT and now the Giro is exceptional… I hope this Giro win helps him to shed this image of the tragic and at times weak hero and get his cherished TDF victory and a place in the all time modern greats… Roglic is a hero difficult to bracket in any of our dimensions, but his ability and pure talent to win is unsurpassed.. I am sure he will get the TDF victory in his career too.. let’s see someone else beat him on a steep uphill sprint 😊
Lots of heartbreaks in my life, but I shed more tears for this guy than all my girlfriends combined. What an emotional roller coaster is rooting for this guy. But it's worth it. He's a good dude. Great rider and he's still not done winning shit.
I think he gained his superpower in that ski jump crash. I can tell this from years of studying superheroes comic books. All the superheroes get their superpowers in some traumatic experiences.
An absolutely incredible talent and competitor.... I'm so proud of Primoz with his 2023 Giro win! He was the class the field and proved it on stage 20 with an unworldly performance! He will be & is a true legend!
que de victoires Primoz ! on ne peut que féliciter ce grand champion , le bonheur de le voir lever les bras ...merci Primoz , merci a tous vive Jumbo !
thank you for this story. really Primos is a great champion who marks the history of cycling. despite the falls and the mechanical problems he resumed and he won. I respect him
UCI World Tour Grand Tour or one week Tour overall victories in the last 5 years : Roglic 14x = Vuelta 3x, Giro, Basque Country 2x, Romandie 2x, UAE, Tirreno Adriatico 2x, Paris-Nice, Dauphiné, Catalunya. Pogacar 7x = Tour 2x, UAE 2x, Tirreno Adriatico 2x, Paris-Nice. Evenepoel 3x = Vuelta, UAE, Poland. Vingegaard 2x = Tour, Basque Country. Do I need to say more ?
Thank you for this great video about Rogla. He is really a special driver and an humble guy. You gotta love him. All the shit he's been trough but never gave up and gets back on top again and again. I can't describe the feelings after he won stage 20 of this Giro.
@@primozdolenc7566 Sure, Tadej is younger (to pa vem). I wanted to point out how amazing both Rogič and Pogačar are. Jonas Vingegaard has "only" 20 victories.
@@mondociaociao Dude, there is no way that I am trying to put down Tadej. I am a bigger fan of Pog than I am of the Rog. Read my other comment in this post.
First time I noticed him was during that solo in the Alps "who is this guy? That is incredible!" I'm not a fan of Vinegar or Jumbo but would love to see Roglic win the Tour de France at least once..... and less crashing please!
Fokus on final destination, determination and stubbornness. Fall after fall after fall.. Korenina, bravo. Only few of you mfs can lift sLOVEnia out of system. Thanks🎉
Cool video! Here's an idea if you guys want to continue doing a mini series like this: Since you have the "Wtf happened to [insert rider name]" maybe you could name the new one "Who tf is [insert rider name here]" where you talk about a relevant riders backstory and rise in cycling fame.
Worldwide, Pog has got a much larger legion of fans. But in his home country, Rog appears to have greater popularity - if the thousands of Slovenians who had turned up to cheer him on at the ITT is any indicator.
lets not forget LBL in 2020. not his force that loulou started to celebrate. that 2017 stage 17 was something else and first time i started paying attention.
In my opinion he should go to Tour de France, also without doing races before, maybe Just a short training Camp. For 3 reasons: After Pogacar crash in LBL nobody knows if he Will be at 100% for the Tour (a broken wrist is not a joke) Second: he has nothing to loose, if he win the Tour It's history, if not, that's ok anyway, he can help Vingeegard Third: if he goes to vuelta and win, It's great but It doesnt change his career.
I think this is not good for his body. Sadly u need to be pragmatic. Vuelta this year and next year full attack on that elusive Tour. Maybe change teams and full send for tour ambitions till end of career.
He shouldn't do Le Tour this year, after taking part in the Giro. Exactly 1 month to the Tour from now. Maybe La Vuelta 2023 and then definitely Le Tour 2024. You have to think from Jonas' perspective and that of the team as well. Jonas would like to come back to the Tour to defend his title. And the team TJV need to walk a tight rope by managing ambitions of so many world class road racers - Roglic, Jonas, WVA, Sepp Kuss (I think this American super climber could become a GC team leader soon).
The determination is so rare. I watched a clip on him years ago and when he realised he wouldn't be world champion at ski jumping he made his mind up to be a world champion in another sport. Deserves everything he's earned
I hope in the 2024 Pogacar and Vingegaard race Il Giro d'Italia then Primoz goes to the Tour de France and wins . He won La Vuelta and Il Giro, to complete the THREE BIG only need to win the Grande Boucle.
Wait a second: Roglic suffers a series of horrible injuries in a ski jump competition and he decides to quit the sport, take up a brand new one, and become pro in one year. That makes absolutely no sense. Other than requiring strong legs, ski jumping shares nothing in common with cycling. This guy has to be on the gear.
Weight control is also common. Ski jumpers are very slim maybe even more then cyclists. He also made some tests which swhowed his incredible endurance capacities. That horrible ski jump accident hapened only 10 km from Monte Lussari, in Planica. Quite a story.
After some physiological testing, one of his mentors / coaches pointed this out to a cycling team. Comparatively, I think Sepp Kuss entered the sport a little later in the game. I also find the Jay Vine story incredible as well.

You are NOT a failure, until you fail to get up and try again!
Roglic is the embodiment of this maxim.
Beautiful,it HIM🐐
The Rocky of cycling.💪
This year’s Giro was such an exciting race, thank you Primoz!
Exciting? Except for a couple stages, I thought the GC battle was boring.
However, Roglic was spectacular on Stage 20. Amazing!

The Lack of Hype in this video is refreshing if not shocking. Thanks for a very informative video. Go Primoz!

He totaly butchered Planica name. 🤣
He totally butchered all Slovene names, but Roglić
What a champion! Very few in the sport have his mental strength and resilience.

I’ve enjoyed watching Roglič or his career. He has a certain panache and any race he is in he will animate. Happy to see his Giro success! Bravo!
Nice coverage and review of his history. Although I must say, you missed his Liege Bastogne Liege victory against Alaphilippe. That was a nice win.
Yeah you are right I should have included but trimmed it out just so it wasnt too long
Primoz es un tipo increible, un ejemplo de vida.
Thank you
What an athlete - amazing determination to continue winning after so many set backs

Why was Roglic retiring from the Vuelta 2022 controversial? 🤔

Did you know Roglič used to be a ski jumper? Wild, huh?
Why didn't he ride the TdF in 2019?
He made Giro-Vuelta that year. Kruijswijk was the leader of Jumbo in the Tour that year.
...yeah,because no one can drive all 3 in same season with some hope of sucsses in them.
Why the mystery? High VO2 max and tolerance of lactate is transferable across all sports.
Except in ski jumping where it is totally irrelevant
To me he resembles Mark Wahlberg.
On the hot sauce like all the other top cyclist. He and everyone else are doing mutan wkg up the hardest climbs. Im all for it.
You gave me a flash back. Armstrong and Pantani racing up Mt Ventoux circa 2000. Now that was juice fueled racing!
its planica not palinca
