There are no words that could explain what Roglič means to Slovenia. He is the definition of a true Slovenian. Quiet, shy, yet determined and stubborn. Never gives up and fights every single day. @@toobalkain true Slovenian: at the core Slovenian people cherish and respect the values that made them where they are today. A native "true" Slovenian was a farmer, who lived in a beautiful nature. Nice summary by ES, I only wish they added Primož "disbelief" when they told him in the tent , that he has won. A word about fans: 1. I want to congratulate fans (probably 85% of them were Slovenian), which did respect Thomas and moved to the side when he was ridding and did not do any antics like in some races ; overall Giro spectators are the best of all 3 GCs. 2. I am disappointed in some Slovenian fans who were too close when Primož was ridding (I think someone even touched him). I understand that there is emotion involved (or sadly sometimes even alcohol), but there is no excuse for someone to run next to any rider! In this kind of stages , people can/should yell all they want, but there is no excuse not to move yourself to the edge of the road and cheer from there like a true cycling fan. Amazing work from Italian organizers to prepared this stage logistic nightmare to a perfection; they also organized free buses from Slovenian side of the border. Overall, people could learn a lot from this years Giro.

Respect to Primoz and well done for using innovation and logic. Had G been riding SRAM and not conservative Shimano he might have held a healthier cadence and won 🤷♂️
I might be wrong, but I think if Thomas had an attacking style of riding he would have had a greater buffer coming into this stage. That's where Froome was different.
Aye, I'm not overly comfortable with the whole thing of swapping components to gain an advantage. As you rightly say, Shimano don't offer that incredibly low 'SRAM' gearing range, which surely will give anyone using SRAM a cadence advantage. I mean, Kudos to both of them for that mightily impressive battle, but......
