    I'm an Altra convert. They helped me finally get rid of plantar fasciitis and some Achilles issues I had for over a year. Let's say it here as well, if you're running in a high drop shoe, ease into the zero drop. Use it once a week on a shorter, slower effort, then twice a week, and so on. Also, I wouldn't go from a 12mm drop shoe to a zero drop shoe. If you can afford to, get something in between in that 4-6mm drop to help you work your way down. It's a commitment, but oh so worth it. My feet, legs, hell, my entire body feels better after working myself into altras.

    I have used Altra shoes for like 90 % of my runs för the last two years and they reaaaally work for me. I race in the next% and use the Rebel 2 and endo speed for fast stuff but i just love the toebox width.
    In reality the endo speed is way to tight in the toes for me but i can deal with it like once a week.
    For trailruns and ultramarathons it is a no brainer, altra keeps your feet fresh all the way.

    This shoe is great. Trust me it’s softer than they lead it on to be. It’s just not high cushion soft. It’s a medium cushion shoe. The outsole can do anything. If you want a daily trainer that can do anything, with a snug midfoot and heel fit, this is it.

    I use my Altra Torin Plush 4.5 for my recovery runs about once a week, it is good to stretch out the body. Altra is very special to run in and takes 4-5 runs to get used to. Through the years I have become more into lower drop and after some issues with my heel I was told to try running in Altras once a week and have not had any issues since.

      I actually loved the Plush 4.5, thought it was one of the most underrated shoes of last year. Also put a ton of miles in on the Superior

    Entertaining and informative as always! Altra has always been like a distant friend. I mostly hang out with other shoes but sometimes and some seasons I’ll pay a visit and catch up.

    Love Altras because they are so fun to run in- although sometimes I feel other shoes fit specific runs better.

    On the Altra website, Buyer Beware!!! The one star to star and three star ratings are showing pictures and complaining about the narrowness comparing paradigm six to paradigm five. (Paradigm 6 is more narrow in the toe box and midfoot). According to the reviews on the Altra website. I'll be skipping these unfortunately. Looking forward to escalante 3 with the new wide edition!!👍

    I like altras for rest days, when I want to feel more of a stretch in my calves while just walking around outside. I have a pair of the escalantes that I got super discounted online - they’re alright for running but I like a bit of drop! Thanks for review as always!

    Pure rudeness on the Flintstone feet reference….😂. I actually like them quite well! It seems most shoes cater to narrower feet and us Flintstone feet peoples need our foot space. 😇

    Would you say this would be a good shoe for someone does weight training and light running so they don't have to change shoes? Cushion for run stable enough for medium to heavy weight training?

    To say no one needs that shoes nor neither of them really dont care about corrective gate correction as a runner..which that shoe offers ummm someone didnt do home work on science and what this truely offers with those with issues....it is a rotation shoe for every runner even most advanced runners..vibe I got was ahh. I don't care..lol every high school kid should be wearing these mid cushion great support natural foot correct gate and beneficial for beginner to pro..runners lose gate over time and these help fix alot period.

      I tried Nike Wild horses. I liked them but they felt a bit unstable. I ultimately ended up with Hoka Speedgoat 4's. They are perfect for me. I'm on my second pair.

    I’ll never buy Altra again. Dirty little secret….Zero drop shoes will cause Achilles injuries in many runners! Happened to me and it’s taking MONTHS to correct. 😩 But on top of that, they’re ugly as hell! Looks like you’ve got your shoes on the wrong feet when wearing them.

    • @Believeintherun
      @Believeintherun  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jp05598

      Dirty little secret: you’re supposed to start slow and ease into them. They didn’t cause an injury, you overused them snd they exposed the fact that you have weaknesses. Do some calf raises and stretching and stop blaming a shoe company for your shortcomings

    • @pocopico7409
      @pocopico7409 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jp05598: Lol…says the guy from Altra….the maker of ugly, injury-producing shoes. Oh, so it’s MY fault their shoes caused injury, right? Oh yeah…EVERYBODY knows you’ve got to go slow and EASE into their shoes. Right? Wrong! I don’t know anyone that would go out and buy a shoe that you had to “ease” into and go slow right from the start or you would be injured by them! I don’t think a shoe company could stay in business if that was what they were known for. Funny, but at no time did anyone ever TELL me I needed to “ease“ into using their shoes or I would have Achilles problems. Do you think I would have bought them if someone had told me that? No, I wouldn’t have, and neither would anyone else. Nowhere, on all the videos I watched talking about the benefits of zero drop shoes, were Achilles problems ever mentioned. And there’s a very good REASON it’s not mentioned! It also was never mentioned by anyone in the stores when I was trying them on. Pure deceit and lies from “No”. 😏😂 I’ve been running for 35 years and never had Achilles problems…until Altra.

    • @jp05598
      @jp05598 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@pocopico7409 nice try but nope, not affiliated with the brand at all. Several videos from Seth demoor where he mentions easing into them. It’s not brand-specific. Do research on 0 drop shoes. It’s not their fault that you’ve been running in shoes with 6-12mm drops and your lower legs are weak. Stop bitching and moaning and strengthen your calves and ankles and Achilles. Take some accountability Jesus Christ. Isn’t it common sense to ease into something completely new? You expect them to spell it out for you? Maybe just do a tiny bit of research or hide behind sloped shoes (which I also run in and most people do) and stay weak. Don’t you realize the shoes actually helped you identify a weaknesss? Why are you getting defensive and butthurt?

    • @pocopico7409
      @pocopico7409 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jp05598: Lol…I see I struck a nerve since you’re the one getting defensive and “butthurt”. Seth Demoor? Oh yeah, EVERYONE’s heard of him! Not! Face it, nobody wants these Altra shoes you’re pitching (and defending). They make 99% of the people out there pull up lame, and besides that, they are “buttugly”. I won’t take “No” for an answer! 😂
