- I've been wearing barefoot shoes like vivos, vibrams and merrells for 6 years now. 1 year ago, I switched to Nike running shoes in preparation for my first ultra marathon.
With my next ultra marathon only 2 months away, I decided to switch my Nikes for a pair of Altra Tourin 7 running shoes.

Nice video! My last video actually recommended the Altra Escalante 3’s for common barefoot shoe issues!
And you have video portal movement content, heck yeah subscribed!
I'm the same with barefoot + altra shoes. I'd love to run in barefoot shoes all the time, and tried for like a year, but when you're running on pavement it adds so much extra soreness. Altras feel like the only realistic middle ground - barefoot shoe shape with cushion for the pavement. Topo Athletic may be the new brand everyone gravitates to now that Altra has been bought up and are edging closer to making generic running shoes like every other mainstream brand (like how they released a shoe with drop recently).
Great information and awesome knowledge.. thanks mate 👍🏻
My pleasure!
Thank you for the info. Hehe it helps me a lot
Big fan of Altra’s. The best case comfort.
I wear vivobarefoot due to a foot issue where ifni wear narrow shoes i get injuries. How is the toe box in comparison to vivos? Are the standard altra fit similar to the vivos or do you need a wider version of the altra
Most running shoe brands have been about fashion for the past twenty years .
What about topo ahtletic? I have been running in altras for a year and a half, but topos also look good
Thats my one gripe with altra; the designs are a bit meh 😅 I've never tried topo, but I'm not sure I like the way a lot of them have the toe end of the shoe curving upwards 🤔
the opening of your video looks like preston docks?
It is indeed. Are you local?
If you have loose ligaments in your knees you should look into getting prolotherapy its a type of regenerative treatment that works good for tightening ligaments to tendons issues
Thanks! I’m definitely going to look into this 👍
These facts need decades to reach the average running shoe buyer.
Torin rather than Tourin. 👍
