It would be really interesting to see more battles with higher funds being used, be great to see how each faction can go really head to head using their elite units
SPOILER: Genius move by Athens to target the elephants while the Carthagian player was distracted. Complete disaster to have those elephants run amuck basically on top of their line
Its kinda funny how Sparta is the only "city state" faction with PIKEMEN, Epirus has Elephants and War dogs and Athens i guess is supposed to be the "Default" Faction. I do agree with you though that the Spartans SHOULD have the BEST Hoplites in the entire game, At least give them more HP and Morale (representing their fitness and training from their youth) then other Hoplite units, maybe Resistance to fatigue as well.
Royal spartans are very scary for a hoplite unit. I think instead of doubling down on the hoplite factor, which won't really improve sparta as a faction, we need to give it some versatility. Historically they used extensive use of the skiritai, we could give them that as a skirmishing light infantry. Tough enough to fight it out with light units, can support the flanks and cavalry with javelins. Give this one dimensional faction some more room to be competitive.
@@matissemoermans6563 Spartans do have the best spear unit in the game (Royal Spartans). The problem is that spear infantry as a whole is really weak in Rome 2, both in SP and MP.

By the way, the spartan pikemen was the unit that got the most kills for the spartan player and it was only used late in to the game

Uhm I'm pretty sure Epirus has 3 units of pikemen (levy pikes, pikes and hellenic Royal guard) and Athens has the generic pikemen unit
