Hi, I'd like to say something about the vive focus 3 here that others may find helpful and I will be spreading this where needed, I personally don't have one yet but as someone that does modeling within VR, Having weighted controllers actually helps with accuracy, as it's a bit harder to shake your controller when it has weight to it, And while the headset isn't designed specifically for gaming, it is compatible and may simply need a reconfiguration on SteamVR depending on what application you are using as it appears to register the controllers as a vive focus pro/plus type of setup If you are going to be mobile and need a solution for PCVR that is separate from the Quest 2, The Vive Focus 3 is your best bet while combined with a 3060 Laptop such as the Triton 500 SE Hope this helps anyone that needs it!
Thanks for this review :), Im tempted if it means getting rid of Facebook. But I have to wonder if I can trust these other companies to not data mine too.
If we look at HTC's track record it's pretty good -> versus FB's history of data leaks and scandals like Cambridge Analytica It's also worth noting, HTC doesn't own big socials like Whatsapp, FB, so their ability to data mine is limited to one source. FB/Meta on the other hand made it clear they want integrate all their apps as closely as possible and into one user profile.
I am in the camp of not having anything Facebook related. My friends have the oculus but I want to play beat saber and all those games you can buy from the steam vr store. Can I get those games on here easily?
You can connect Focus 3 to a PC and play games via SteamVR If you're talking about standalone then unfortunately content is pretty thin, Pico 3 has way more games available Full list of Focus 3 games: przecinek.medium.com/focus-3-ecosystem-all-apps-and-games-currently-available-ff6b377a93d
Im guessing your headset was a return from a another buyer. Would explain the VIP_King account. Or it's Chinese Spyware. Wich would be very concerning and very possible
Looks like a usd 1300 rip-off in the name of business headset , i was sceptical but you confirmed my suspicion , thank you for the honest review, meta Quest 2 is still the best as entry VR which i have already
Yes, You're right, I meant rigid strap 😅 The Pico Neo 3 Pro and Neo 3 Eye are supposed to be made available in Q3 2021 (for westerns customers) For now their website points to "Order Enquires" (a form of pre-order). Will definitely keep an eye on Pico Neo 3 Pro, curious to see how it stacks against Focus 3 (and Quest 2)!
I know Pico Neo 2 and 3 have their own separate Chinese stores so yes, maybe Focus 3 does too 🤔 Focus 3 also features an in-build VPN system so it's definitely made with Chinese consumers in mind ;)
@@Deathbatman Yes Guy Godin even confirmed he obtained Vive Focus 3 for the purpose of porting VD over but then nothing came out of it. He will however port VD to Pico Neo 3. Maybe he got discouraged for some reason.
@@VREmirate He probably got discouraged due the low amount of user due to the price of the headset. I mean no one wants to fork over that cash for a more expensive quest 2. So the pico neo3 had much more users so it makes sense to put vd on there

Great informative video! Any 3rd party video player apps available yet? The default one is terrible

@1:17 Focus 3 doesn't have a halo strap. PSVR, Rift S, Odyssey+, ... have halo straps.
@12:50 What about Pico Neo 3 Pro?

Is there maybe a Chinese OS for the Focus 3 with more content? I imagine that the Quest 2 is not available in China, and so there is a huge market.

is virtual desktop supported? vr chat supported?
There's no Virtual Desktop. VRChat is only available through native PC streaming.
@@VREmirate what? I thought the developer for virtual desktop wanted to put it on the vive focus 3.
