Batman Begins - The Opening (part 2) "If you devote yourself in an ideal"

  • part1:
    • Batman Begins -The Ope...
    "A man who can offers you a path"
    Both Bruce and Ra's al Ghul do share their hatred of evil...slightly deferent though
    An unstoppable ideal is indeed a legend... but it is also about being more than just a vigilante who is fighting mainly for his own gratification.
    "A rare blue flower"... This is a cool origin story for the fear gas, a cool signature weapon of you-know-who...

    This is my favorite part of the movie, When the idea of batman was born. Where Bruce Wayne realized that he could change the world not as a man, but as a symbol. A symbol that anybody can be a hero, that men are still good, that there is still a chance for humanity. Batman is the pinnacle of human achievement he represents the best parts humanity has to offer but also the worst. theres a reason why he is one of if not the most popular comic book hero of all time.comic book characters are almost Shakespearean and should not be seen as some "kids thing" or not realistic. There are very real values and lessons to be learned from these amazing characters. Batman- "its not that I'm always prepared, because I'm not .Its not because i have the most advanced technology, because i don't. And its sure as hell not because I'm batman! What i am is a symbol. An idea that anyone can be a hero. I don't give up.When i am beaten, i regroup and find a way. I am only human . But don't let that fool you either. Prep time means nothing without proper execution. Acts of heroism mean nothing if the motives aren't pure. I don't always win, but i will never ever quit".

    Does anyone think about how one can benefit by applying any of the numerous lines and motivations from this movie? All the ways any of us can develop into something legendary? Has anyone really applied the fact Bruce Wayne took drastic steps to reform himself, shunned comfort and convenience in order to reshape every aspect of his being? The fact he took on a seemingly impossible task - *alone* - and got to work right away rather than blabbering about it to his friends on social media? How about instead of waiting for the perfect suit to drop into his lap, he started work immediately, tested and experimented (and failed in certain areas), did his research, and continued onward?
    This entire movie is a comprehensive motivational speech.

      The only problem that the death of his parents is a very weak motivation for a superhero, it had become a cliche, even a laughing stock, even the "selfish" become noble trope become a cliche as well, is a shame that the trope of a criminal becoming a hero is not very used, a truly despicable man, that committed atrocities in the past, that committed genocide, that burned entire cities to the ground, to then find redemption and fight for justice, but he never would archive the redemption that he seeks, not matter how many criminals he put in jail or have many criminal he pouch to a pulp, but writers have fear to use that trope but destroy the trope of noble hero with tragic past but still pure inside.

      Agree.
      Being a "legend" seems egoistic, but it's more like an everlasting symbol of hope and inspiration to do good as the plots develop for clearer explanation.
      I am totally behind the concept of finding direction before action. And I support doing good should be selfless instead of satisfying one's "own gratification".
      However, Ra's al Ghul lost his faith in people and constantly thinks that corrupted people in general are all incapable of a better change (Sadly, some people maybe). So he decides to wipe out the evil by committing genocide. That's what he is wrong this way (he is blinded by his personal anger and hatred).
      Batman, being a sensible guy, makes his discretion when necessary but mostly he leaves the final verdict to the impartial system, to the people. And more importantly, he believe that people with guidance can become more decent...

    • @spentlizard353
      @spentlizard353 10 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      Bruce Huang In today's society, most people are incapable of change and will continue to do things that will only cause harm. Ra's al Ghul is right that criminals thrive on society's understanding, and that as long as they exist we can never know true peace. If you look at it from a realist viewpoint, you can see that Batman is the actual villain in this situation.
      Speaking of which, in trying to do good, he created more monsters of men, like the Joker and Two-Face; an insane psychopath and a fallen hero. His method seems noble, but in reality it is highly flawed. And the impartial system is, as he said, broken.

    • @brucehuang3964
      @brucehuang3964  10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Spent Lizard I do believe it's not cynical when it's true. Some people do need to be stopped from posting imminent threats. Only after they are locked up in a prison or a mental institution can they be attempted to be cured.
      I totally get your frustration. Some media do instill its opinionated views to distract people's attention from the more pressing issues, it may even cloud the truth. Apathy can be a social disease, "when the good people do nothing". There is so many good causes are worth fighting for. Restoring humanity is an uphill battle, but I do believe it can be improved one step at a time. Batman is cleaning the broken criminal justice system of Gotham City by his might. However, when the corruption is less extreme, teaching love and compaction is more effective.
      I can see you quoted the movie twice, you must have given it some thoughts. Yes. I noticed trauma and addition have some connections and I admit Batman in this trilogy is kind of an action junkie with anger issues. Batman may stir up the most extreme craziness, but the crazy should be the ones to blame. I never see Batman as an "obsessive-compulsive narcissistic hero-complexed sociopath". I believe he will never intentionally create villains to fight with, and he will survive retirement well.

So casting Liam Neeson who is 6'4" to Bale's 6'0" is pretty consistent overall. Now, if only Bane could have been a 6'6" actor at least. Don't get me wrong, Hardy did well given the circumstances, but a lot of the "physical intimidation" factor of Bane was lost when even with camera angles and lifts, it looked like Bane was no bigger than Batman.

    This scene is brilliant. Ducard uses the word 'Path' when talking to Bruce, which is a very popular word in eastern philosophy (specially in Taoism - Tao means path or way)..... is about one individual finding your own way/path in life.... Well, life has many paths you can choose, but apparently Bruce has none to follow and is struggling to find one... and here Ducard is offering him a path he can tread... and that ultimately is going help him to find his way in life... the way of becoming Batman

    Yes new the batman movie is way better in action, darkness, broken, fear and representing gotham city... But damn... Nolan trilogy has philosophy. The batman movie may seem more depressed than the dark knight (begins) but no. That's not true. The batman movie takes depression from pure gloom and human condition (loneliness, madness etc.) and it's ok. But the dark knight takes it from that philosophy. Therefor pain and hope we feel is more real. The taste left behind inside our soul is more alive and bittersweet
    First 30 minutes of the batman is a masterpiece we should all accept this. But as a whole. The dark knight is my dark sky and I know sun will rise again

    What gives Mr. Neeson gravity to the roles he plays is his voice. His voice has a unique quality, which was true of many old-school actors such as Charlton Heston - Moses/Ben-Hur, Sean Connery - James Bond, Chill Wills, Walter Brennan, Anthony Hopkins - Hannibal Lecter, Morgan Freeman, and etc.
    And it is a quality that is sadly missing among many actors today. Anyone can read and deliver lines off of a script, and give a great performance. But the quality of their voice can lend tremendous weight to the lines they deliver, as well as emotion, and I think that's why the quality of our movies has seriously gone downhill. It's not the quality of the actors so much, nor their training, but rather the quality of their voice, something that really only nature/genetics gives, and that is something that's not being utilized.
