Short Bio: Outside of my love for donuts and ice cream, I am privileged to serve as the Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newington, CT. My wife and best friend (Dana) and I have been blessed with three adult children and five grandchildren, and we have enjoyed thirty-four years of marriage and ministry together. I have followed Jesus for nearly 50 years and my passion is to love God, love my family and church family, develop spiritual leaders, and point people to Jesus Christ-through leading, teaching, and writing. You can connect with me at the links above. As far as education, my Master’s work with Veritas Baptist College was in theology, and my Doctorate with Liberty University is in expositional teaching and preaching.

Thank you Pastor Cary....♥
Amen! Thank you! Praise the Lord God Almighty who is a good good Father!
Titus 2 13
Thank you dear Pastor Cary! Eyes up! Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Acts 16:31 "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Colossians 1:14 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:" Salvation is obtained by simply believing in Jesus' death (Blood sacrifice), burial and resurrection for payment of all your sins, past, present and future.

People often get confused with word fear. Fear means in our Christian world is respect and reverence for God. So we fear and praise him to be his glory! Not the fear that people think like being afraid of heights. Totally different context. Amen Pastor Cary praise the Lord! 😊
I was one of those people who didn't understand why I should fear God when he loves me so very much. Pastor Cary cleared that misunderstanding for me along with The Lord is my Shepherd: I shall not want. I didn't understand why I didn't want the Lord. Again Pastor Cary cleared that misunderstanding for me as well. This has been an enlightening journey.
Question: Many of us have discussed this topic where I live. We cannot agree on the answer. Some are born-again but living in sin with an unmarried partner. Others are lukewarm as they are busy with everyday life. Will this exclude them from entering Heaven? Please give me your Pastoral teaching on whether all born-again Christians will make it into Heaven.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
When you are born again you are sealed until the day of redemption. Prodigals are still saved.
Johm 10:28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
So prodigals are still sealed but they grieve the Holy Spirit. Doesn't say the Holy Spirit left them. As long as you have the Holy Spirit which is the seal, you are saved.
The ones that say Lord, Lord are not prodigals. Rather Pharisee types, or folks who think their virtue signaling is knowing the Lord when it is really doing what is right in their own eyes, not God's. They make themselves God therefore they do not know Him.
After salvation our destiny in Heaven is sealed permanently and nothing can separate us from God's saving love (Romans 8 teaches this.) That grace should, however, motivate us to practically pursue obedience in love for Jesus. It's an incongruent thing for a Christian to willfully choose sin. Hope this makes sense.
I just want to make sure I have things straight. Satan runs this current world, but God is ultimately in control. So Satan still has to run things by the Lord before he does them, right?
You are correct. It's like when God let Satan test Job.
I would probably say it differently... God permits things that He hates to accomplish the eternal purposes of His love... there's some mystery there, but essentially Jesus called Satan the temporary "prince of this world"-he has some operating dominion here, but not for long... because Jesus will ultimately consummate the plan of redeeming creation.
@@pastorcaryschmidt It seems to come down to the notion that we just have to trust that God will use the bad or evil things for our ultimate good, as He did with the crucifixion of Jesus.
