    This is really ferocious bowling. Sustained and accurate. The aim is to break the batsman's head. Donald was much much quicker than what his bowling action showed

      England would never had lost 1-4 to Australia in 2001 had DRS been in place. Australia's 12th man was the umpire like most test matches

    In 1999 I was a regular at a certain nightclub in Johannesburg and on this particular Friday my spot in the club had been cordoned off, in my drunken stage I snuck past the cordon and tried to make my way to my regular spot...the bouncers came running to eject me yet 2 people within this area came running to have a look and talk down the bouncers, my mates behind the cordon also saw what was happening and also came running, Gough and Flintoff were those 2 people....and I explained they had taken my spot...they bought me a beer and let my mates come into the VIP area...legends!

    Also I would have loved if somebody would dish this out to Kohli, the way he struts around on flat decks with 5 blokes within ring makes me really angry.

      No fear at all, Athers was one of the toughest batsmen ever. His back issues meant he couldn’t duck, so he had to take the blows regardless of if they were 95mph

    If l recall Arthurton made 73 not out to see of Donald...However thenext test Donald got him out for mm..Honours even..Donald was became eligable for England selection thru living here and marriage to an Englishwoman, during apartheid..Smith and Lamb joined england but Donald refused saying he was a proud africaaner,(inspite of their racist ideology)

    A legendary battle that should’ve been over much quicker than it was. Ath clearly gloved that one and should’ve walked. He was the glue that held England’s shaky batting order together and Donald knew it. Had he been rightly dismissed the rest would’ve folded like a cheap suit.

    Mike Atherton was so overrated , he averaged 37.7 and english thought he's a world class batsman, McGrath used to make mockery out of him

      First reason ...during 90s Average of 40 was considered good for opening batsmen ...sunny gawaskar had avg of 51 ..second he played most of his matches in England where condition r very helpful for fast bowler..it's like Nathan lyon despite having just as many wickets as harbhajan singh , considered much better off spinner because pitches in aus dt support spin bowler ..

    What speeds do you reckon Donald was hitting back in the day? Ive seen some speed guns clocking him at 143 kph when it seemed way faster to me.. damn near unplayable stuff
