This is really ferocious bowling. Sustained and accurate. The aim is to break the batsman's head. Donald was much much quicker than what his bowling action showed
In 1999 I was a regular at a certain nightclub in Johannesburg and on this particular Friday my spot in the club had been cordoned off, in my drunken stage I snuck past the cordon and tried to make my way to my regular spot...the bouncers came running to eject me yet 2 people within this area came running to have a look and talk down the bouncers, my mates behind the cordon also saw what was happening and also came running, Gough and Flintoff were those 2 people....and I explained they had taken my spot...they bought me a beer and let my mates come into the VIP area...legends!
Atheron is like I’m giving my WBW ( Whole Body Wicket ) to this Donald. Stupid umpire doesn’t even want to give me out, he really wants me to suffer here!. 😂😂😂😂
How could the umpire not see that? Also I would have loved if somebody would dish this out to Kohli, the way he struts around on flat decks with 5 blokes within ring makes me really angry.
No fear at all, Athers was one of the toughest batsmen ever. His back issues meant he couldn’t duck, so he had to take the blows regardless of if they were 95mph
A legendary battle that should’ve been over much quicker than it was. Ath clearly gloved that one and should’ve walked. He was the glue that held England’s shaky batting order together and Donald knew it. Had he been rightly dismissed the rest would’ve folded like a cheap suit.
People speak about wasim waqar Kapil dev Ambrose But miss out some unsung hero’s and Allan Donald is one If there was DRS system in that place these legends would have had 1000 wickets each
What speeds do you reckon Donald was hitting back in the day? Ive seen some speed guns clocking him at 143 kph when it seemed way faster to me.. damn near unplayable stuff
Athers fraiil looking stance must have encouraged every bowler. But he was a scrapper. As for the growling Duck we used to shout 'Get back to your mark lad'

Donald and Srinath had the fastest bowling arm actions in that decade

Michael Holding, what a gem.
I’m English but I support Alan Donald. He was just such a fearsome bowler
Brilliant
Plot twist: the umpire secretly hated Atherton so let the punishing barrage from Donald continue.
😂🤝🏻
😂😂😂
Meanwhile Atherton to umpire, give me out, let me go... I can’t handle this more

Donald wins so many time.

Truth... there where some terrible decisions in this series

. . .
But there wasn't 😢
England would never had lost 1-4 to Australia in 2001 had DRS been in place. Australia's 12th man was the umpire like most test matches
Sir Viv Richards vs Allan Donald would have been the ultimate competition if only South Africa were not banned till 1992 for apartheid.
Umpire was high as fuck 😂😂😂😂
And biased
This surely was one of the most hostile spells of fast bowling!
Steve Dunn was a horrible umpire. The man should have lost his job after this match.
looks blind!

Umpire needs to visit Specsavers🤣
That’s true maybe he could also get his conscience checked somewhere !

Like how commentators criticised the umpire back then for giving the wrong decision frankly which is something rare nowadays.
