- 🌊 Hello sailors! Sailing Through Britain's Best Landscapes
⛵Join us, Faye and Rob, along with Yewy, our Welsh terrier, as we share the top 5 landscapes from our 1600 nm voyage across the English Channel, Wales, the Irish Sea, Western Scotland, the Caledonian, and the North Sea.

5️⃣ Jura: Our journey starts in the Inner Hebrides with the wild and untamed isle of Jura. Its standout feature? The Paps of Jura, three conical mountains dominating the island. Our night at a swing mooring in Craighouse, the heart of Jura, was a thrilling mix of rolling waves and stunning wilderness, where red deer outnumber humans!
4️⃣ Seven Sisters: Sailing from Eastbourne to Brighton, we were awestruck by the Seven Sisters' white chalk cliffs. Formed from ancient marine organisms, these cliffs are a geological spectacle and an iconic part of England’s coastal history. This was our very first voyage, making it a memory we'll always cherish.
3️⃣ Loch Linnhe and Ben Nevis: As we sailed through Loch Linnhe, the magnificent Ben Nevis loomed over us. Standing at 1,345 meters, it's a beacon for climbers and nature lovers. Our experience here, especially berthing at Thomas Telford Marina, highlighted the harmonious blend of nature's majesty and human ingenuity.
2️⃣ Jurassic Coast: Next, we navigated the 95-mile Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in geological history. From the serene Studland Bay to the rugged Isle of Portland, we experienced a journey through time. Our passage to Brixham, staying at the yacht club pontoon, offered us a glimpse into the vibrant marine life and cultural heritage of this historic fishing town.
1️⃣ Northumberland Coast: And our top spot goes to the Northumberland coast! This stretch from the Scottish border to North Shields was a homecoming we eagerly anticipated. Despite the challenging swells, the scenery, rich in wildlife and historical castles like Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, and Dunstanburgh, was breathtaking. It's a region where history and nature merge beautifully, making it our favorite UK sailing landscape.

I did round the uk in 2021 right round the top. Good to see Jurassic coast made the top five because that’s where I sail.
