    I have to stop speed reading, I thought that you were turning a mullet. I thought that was strange seeing that you don’t have hair. Then I watched😬 nice ‘Mallet’ Glenn😬👍

    Love the way you two interact during the video. Super. 🤙🏼
    What kind of grind was that on the roughing gouge? Never seen that before.
    I just turned a mallet from some green maple and it’s cracking and checking. Still useful though. It looks pretty cool to.
    Thank again. Keep on Turning! 🌪️

      Cool. What’s the reason behind that? Doesn’t it weaken the gouge? 🤔

      @@rundledorosh656 It makes it more user friendly and I can do much more with it than just roughing down a piece, as demonstrated in the video. Does not weaken it at all.

      The knots are part of the character of the wood. It's a tool for hitting things. Eventually, it will be full of dents.

    Nice mallet I’ve been wanting to turn one myself I’m too tight to buy one been from Yorkshire. I’ve just acquired an apple tree trunk that’s just been felled is that suitable and how long should I leave it before turning it.

    • @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308
      @glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Wayne, it is better to have dry wood for this. If you wanted to turn it immediately, I would seal the end grain straight away after turning it, to slow down the drying process. It shouldn't crack then. Mine may crack as it was still quite wet but it was mainly for the video and I could just make another one at a later time. Thank you also for the Buy Me A Coffee. Much appreciated. Glenn & Liza
