- Most of the units look similar, but for some reason the colors are again muted, even the ground is not as red. Some of the demons are uglier now and others are very different. Void walkers are like ice cream walkers lol.

Personally prefer the more Skeletal versions of the Voidwalker than its Archon WoW looks. Same goes for Shade for me.
Void elementals are by far the worst. Everyone doesnt need shoulder plates and armors

this is the only faction where the redesign disappointed me. Like they need to be more cartoon-y, colorful, intense. These just look drab and not warcraft-y

I feared that Archimonde wouldn't look good here like many other units in Reforged, but he actually looked pretty neat, it's more faithful to his cinematic appearance. Though I still prefer his WC3 model, I guess Archimonde is the one I prefer the most out of every new remodeling.
He is pretty spot on, just wishing he was a bit larged thats all.

I can’t lie that most, if not all of these newer version looks like they have wow templates, but have graphics and bodies like Darksiders’ demons.
Man you are so wrong. Darksiders demons look more clear and cartoonish than these do. I dont know what to think of these design they look... Unispired. Like they Just grabbed other designs. Even our guy from the video is presenting the old Warcraft III designs compared to World of warcraft. Man some originality wasnt gonna be hated on. I havent played I sure as hell prefer the original.

Don't forget the glowing claws of the original! I always hated those awful tube arms of the WoW version. The demo had them right, you can see it in some old videos.
That's funny - to me, the infernal model was one of the few I liked better than the originals. To each their own, I suppose!
@Regular Slime What are you talking about? The original infernal is basically the same as the original concept art or the one what you can see in the original cinematic (just not that detailed). The new one has completely different shape/stance etc. Huge shoulders, tiny head what is inside the torso etc. wow.gamepedia.com/Infernal

There is a dark portal model in Wc3 it's a doodad. It was in TFT blood elven campaign in outland levels where illidan was shutting down the portals.

I don't know... the old nathrzim had a "lovecraftian" vibe that I can't feel on the new iterations. The new voidwalkers are horrible, but some of the new models are really good as well, such as the infernals
Yea, i actually like the old dreadlords more. The new ones give me a vampire vibe, but the old ones were more than just that. They just add a vampire people in WoW, and they look exactly like the reforged ones. The unique look of the old ones is gone, even Heroes did a better job.
Unpopular opinion: the colors don't need to be "poppin" to be a good game. This was Warcraft, this wasn't World of Warcraft where everything needs to be bright. This is where the darkest of timelines happened, where we thought Magni Bronzebeard was dead and NEVER coming back. The fact the ground isn't as red but now GORGEOUSLY textured is not a problem to me. And demons aren't exactly supposed to be Rule34 explicit in Warcraft so thankfully i am glad they're uglier and more corrupted from their original races. I actually like the designs. Honestly WoW has spoiled us all but this takes me back to being a Warcraft player, where Lothar reigned as King and orcs were the main antagonist. And i won't lie Frozen throne at first confused me but as soon as the story line picked up it was good...and i loved Mal'Ghanis.

Like I actually kinda like the new Infermals. Genuinely feel like they are giant burning demonic stone monsters and not reskinned Golems now.
Otherwise I do notice what you mean about how muted the colours are. Makes the game look like a bland rehash of WoW.

You see they upgraded the graphics and added details but they lost their special style

There was only one model of the gate in the video, there were two in the game.
The other one didnt wanna open when i made the video, its an old video now :D It was crashing. I made a new video with the new gates and portals.

@@Starfals And because of that color is much darker which makes segregation of units during the battle pretty problematic. In original W3 you could easily determine where're your units and where're enemies as well as understand who-is-who. In gameplay videos I could barely differentiate skeletons and ghouls, which is a problem.

The models themselves are nice, for the most part, but the colours look so washed out to me. Felbeats at 1:55 are a perfect example of this. The war3 colours are so vibrant, making units immediately stand out. I imagine that the new models would be difficult to identify in actual gameplay from a top down persepective, especially with all the added detail in the models (not that it necessarily matters that much for non-competitive units). Hopefully it will all look better when actually playing it, vs. TH-cam comparisons.

I never played this, but the old design look classy and refined. And now looks like basically any female protagonist playable character in either WOW or other games.

They really seem to have just gone for dull coloring for most of them, and shied away from the vibrancy that helped attract the eye during the original Warcraft. All in all... I am significantly less than impressed... and that makes me sad.)

You know it just occurred to me, if WOW is using the WC3 engine, then they can just simply implement these models into WOW, can't they?
Makes it a ton easier to do a graphic update on WOW with this, which literally will make everything more realistic and cool.
It was looong ago, but didnt they change that engine a huge way? I wonder if they can still import them lol. Like how CoD MW uses the Quake 2 engine.. buttttt its updated A TTON
@@Starfals I doubt that they did change the engine too much, and besides with Reforged being released, it is up to par with WOW and the current new models in it anyways, so I think that Reforged actually opens the gates to perhaps seeing a once in a lifetime WOW overhaul.
Maybe I can finally see a new looking Hogger instead of the living mongrel I see, and also new MURLOCS too! :D

I really hope the voidwalker models are considered unfinished, because even by WoW comparison they look nothing like what they should. I'm not gonna bitch much because they're is plenty of it in the comments section, but I'm satisfied with the variety. Most things in original WoW was just recolors, reskins, or enlarged versions of the same characters. Just a shame that nobody can see the quality and effort put into making each of them unique. In my opinion, the Infernals are the best improvement; they genuinely look terrifying, rather than just a flaming golem model with the same animations.

It already is. I just started to upload the outland/fel orcs comparison video. The colors are really bad. Fel orcs are usually red, but in reforged.. mostly brown.
