I completely agree with the physical fullness and mental hunger existing simultaneously. I believed with everything in me that I was bingeing since I'd eat past my body's satiation. It took some time to learn that there is no such thing as "too much food" in recovery from a restrictive ED. I'm glad that I came to listen to my mind when it told me to eat more.
I remember "bingeing" on so much every night for several weeks and always thinking, "I'll just be better tomorrow night." No! My brain was trying to save my life!
Elisa, thank you for everything you do. You've helped so many of us.

I have been dealing with all of this and driving myself crazy going to GI specialists abs they all don’t connect it to eating disorder that started in February and really got worse two months ago-as well as the anxiety. I knew a about you through this video a couple of months ago and now I’m not “quasi” anymore, i’m now in the real recovery that I’ve been always looking for. I tried to recover but ended up getting orthorexia other than 12-year bulimia. You showed me what the actual intuitive eating is, how resilient women are and gave me all the answers I was dying to find out. I eat and eat and eat, omg, i don’t care abt fat or wtf judgement from others is anymore, the only thing i care is constant pain in my stomach that no doctor or prescriptions can heal or see. Not because they’re not capable but I’m not at all aware of the existing bulimia. Thanks to you, I know I’m ok, thanks to you, I know I have better stomach now. You’re my life saver Elisa. Thank you so so so much!!!!

A big thank you to your TH-cam channel, Brainwashed ebook, you are literally the only person I found on the internet that actually helped me understand what is happening with all my issues after a year of eating disorder. I am truly grateful to you! ♥️
I have only one question, I've gained a few kgs since I'm in recovery but even before that, I wasn't underweight according to the BMI, I was just almost underweight but still at an healthy weight. Even though today I'm not underweight, I guess all you said in this video applies to me as well...? Because I've been eating more food for about 4 months, but the bloat is even worse and worse and I'm afraid it won't go. I know it takes time to heal but it makes me feel really bad and anxious about myself. I'm still thinking about food H24 even though I never feel hungry physically. I'm not even able to left food on the plate when I'm physically full.
Thank you again for your informative videos :)

I wonder if some digestive problems might be chronic due to the ED or do you think it is possible for everybody to heal their digestion? I have gained weight, reduced stress, limited my exercise etc. but I still have daily pain, constipation, no hunger cues (also mental hunger is lacking) and I also didn't get my period back. I have been recovering now for about 2 years and still no results. I have had stool, blood and allergy tests and a colon test in the hospital and they said It was IBS and they couldn't do anything for me. Perhaps some people have to accept that some digestive issues are not repairable, but nonetheless eating enough is of course very important. It is just very hard to keep eating mechanically after so long and so much effort, and don't see any results. Every day I have to tell myself to eat without my body asking for food, eat through the pain and not feeling if it was enough or not. I still hope that one day I can have these hunger signals back again and not be in so much pain every day.

i will discuss this in the next video (part 2) about bloating - coming next week! but some things for you that contributes to the issues is overexercising as you said, second is that for recovery minimum calories are 2500-3500 cal (minimum, not maximum), then overhydration contributes to this, then also look into not consuming too much high fiber and watery foods, like fruits and low cal veggies and eating lots of whole foods can be hard to digest and add to bloating. and also energy drinks that are fizzy and contain artificial sweeteners can make bloating worse.
