I've seen enough of your videos to realize she was indeed good at her job. Very friendly and not going through the motions.
the last lady is extremely friendly and she loves her job
i have stayed at the Baan Buakhao (the first one you visited) about four or five years ago when it was brand new, as the young lady says it's very quiet at night but only a two minute walk to the bars on Soi Buakhao. the security boxes in reception rather than in the rooms are not popular with some people but i think they are far safer, not only are they covered by CCTV but you can add your own padlock for your peace of mind. i have to say, if it was down to the attitude of the staff showing you around then this hotel would win hands down!
Safety boxes behind reception give me the jitters. I'm sure there was a hotel that got all their boxes raided some years ago. Losing your cash, cards and passport doesn't bear thinking about 🙁
No thanks, u should have the safety box at room, there no excuse for them not too.
@@TakashiNippon Those safety boxes have a master code that every staff member knows plus a key. More convenient but a false sense of security

The first place you went to daz was the best I would definitely stay there for a month lovely helpful lady beautiful place to stay in
I’ve stayed at the second hotel you showed several times in the past. I would never stay there again. They were pulling a scam about 4 year’s ago charging double for the electricity for those staying by the month. Thai girl were shown the electrical bill on Facebook showing the ridiculous prices they were told they had to pay. The hotel used to be a Holiday Inn.
Yep, the first one is the best. Probably because of what you said about the young lady, she's very good at her job.
That 3th lady sure was a charmer ;-) Rooms in the second hotel look the best. Swimming pool on the parking lot is a bit of a joke though.

Thanks for sharing. The third one was really not inviting, with that kind of staff i'd never feel comfortable there. The second one seemd to be the best value/quality, although the first one had the best staff, the woman really was professional would be a pleasure to stay there with that kind of attitude! Sometimes it's not the hotel, but the people, and thank you for giving us this exact insight!

The rooms were ok.perfect for a short holiday.my favourite area so well worth thinking about although that third lady may have been having a bad day.thanks for sharing matey.

Thanks for seeking these out mate. Very helpful for the perspective retiree looking for somewhere to crash for a month or 2 or more whilst they look for something more permanent and not chewing up valuable dollars in the process. 8K a month for the R Con is a bargain. 👍

Good info! these are great for short stay of less than a month. You are away from most of the noise, but just a short Baht Bus ride away from the main action.
I like the little laugh Daz adds although a couple of the elite film critics who add little but complaints have sometimes taken exception. These are personal explorations of interesting venues not unlike Anthony Bourdain or many other more famous names in the travel genre. Well done to Daz for taking us on these Pattaya fact-finding vlogs.
When you stay at accomodation thay charges for electricity can you check the metre to keep a track on how much you are using and keep an eye on what its costing you? Especially when they charge more than the government rate. What is usually the average cost per week/month for electricity. I know this is a very broad question. Thanks

Have a look at the corner lodge hotel i am booked for Dec 1 till jan 2 all in 10400 thb about 10 mins walk from LK. Small but nice pool and gym big rooms stayed there many times

Excellent idea! Not everybody wants to stay in $40 + per night. Basically I need is clean own bathroom and aircon.. every Soi between Buakow and Third Rd has plenty of good budget accommodation

A couple of these hotels looked okay, and cheaper than my default hotel (April Suites; just off the north end of Soi Buakhao). After 2½ years away from Pattaya it will take a lot for me to abandon the April Suites. It's a bit more expensive but I guess when you get older you pay a little extra when you find somewhere you like. Thanks Daz for the videos which are always informative. I am happy when l am notified of new content from you.

Hi Daz. I'm in pattaya now.
I originally booked the second hotel you showed in this video then checked reviews and found out that the 7000baht deposit is often not refunded when customers leave. The hotel saying it'll send the money directly to the customers bank account. Which never actually happens.
Probably why they show such low prices in the first place 🤔

Very useful video. I was always looking for a room for under 500 bhat a night.
you should visit hotels in the evening to see how loud is in the room. I usually avoid hotels close to the action to be able to sleep before 6am (sometimes need to sleep)

For me the D group of hotels are the bees knees. D hotel D Appartment D Express. Stayed r con @siam wonderful memories but getting a bit dog eared now

Have a look at Chang Tong House in Soi Diana up the Soi Buakhao end. I stayed there years ago many times it was great and budget friendly.

Hi. Thank you for your video. It is nice to see some hôtel not expensive. Sometime cheaper than condominium, and Electric includ for 13 000 /mounth.in centrum pattaya not jomtien.
I just stayed at r con@siam for a month,everything else is just fine.Except the bed,its large but its flimsy.The biggest problem with these budget hotels is bed i guess,their beds are very very flimsy you dont realise it unless you spend a night there.2 single beds being joined together and beds are like so flimsy a little nudge would displace them.Worst for aerobic sessions.Now i had already paid for a month so was stuck.But mostly the rooms were good except for the bed.
Check out the newly renovated Night&Day (backside of tukcom) very low prices on food as well

Great video , The 1st one looks good especially the Deluxe with the extra room , Is smoking allowed ? , presumably on the balcony .. Thats all i need for a swimming pool something to go in and cool down don't swim lol
that second hotel with the almost mini kitchen looks pretty good or its deluxe room with that big couch I like. 8000 for one month not bad
So that second one was about $220 USD/month??? That's just bananas. In this economy, spending 200 bucks in the states is just an appetizer.
yeah. one can live or maybe call it exist in Thailand pretty cheaply if one is willing to compromise a bit. Bear in mind that while not 5 star rooms, you probably would be living better than 50 % of how people around the world live
Enjoying this series. I think I'd prefer to sleep on the beach rather than stay at the VM Terrace!! I like the D chain (Hotel, Express, Apartment 1 & 2) at that end of Buakhao. All decent and in the 500-800 baht range.
i used to always stay at D apartment going back before they made the big addition. But last trip in 2019 the old lady and staff were just rude for some reason so I went around the corner and stayed 3 more weeks at D Hotel. That was pretty good. Both had rooftop pools. D Apartment pool is the nicer of the two as far as presentation. I loved the location as it is an easy walk down to second road, or over to Pattaya Klang.

I think you should check Noi's flop house and bada-bing-bada-boomboom rooms. Might be more interesting than run of the mill cement box rooms. And if they open again, Penthouse Hotel (I saw Niklas mentioned it) which looks quite entertaining.

I stayed at Vogue hotel on soi Lengkee last month. It is a little under 600b per night and looks far nicer than the first 3.
several years ago I stayed at the little guest house right next to that, hole in one I think it was. Comfortable room and bed and all that i needed. Very nice girls running the place. In back was the Vogue and the darn thing was only 1/2 full. I could tell because the room lights were often dark. I walked over to see about using their swimming pool for a daily usage fee. I asked about price of a room and said could not stay! Apparently at the time they had or they keep the rooms all reserved or open for Russian groups only. Also just about every night there was loud loud music playing up on the roof as some party or private party is held every night. I mean boom boom window shaking noise. Maybe it has changed since
It was quiet while I was there. It was also quiet 3 years ago when I stayed there but was more expensive then.
All three hotels looked like the kind of place where you'd stay for one or two nights, while you looked for something better.
And when I say better......I mean much MUCH better.
I couldn't imagine staying in any of them for a two week holiday.

Most important thing to know is how quite it is at night.
I always stay in this area, some good bargains to be found if you don't expect the Ritz. Three must haves, a safety box, free wifi and a fridge.
#4 must have - AC!

I stayed there years ago.. Rooms had balconies which was great for smoking. Close enough to everything including baht bus to walking street
Are they all in water and electric included if you stay monthly daz. If so that's better than renting on a condo. No agent fees.
