    I do not think that Pattaya will get as many high season tourists coming as they expect. Times are tough around the world and there is a recession, airfares are up because of rising oil prices.

      @darrylknight2675 I think you are wrong, Just try booking a room in central Pattaya for near the end of next month, the ones that are available are fewer than last November, my 3 favourite mid range priced hotels are all booked solid, no rooms left and the few others I prefer, less central, are higher priced with few rooms available.

    I don't understand some people in the comments here complaining about cheap accommodation. Who the hell comes to Pattaya to hangout in a room? As long as it's clean and has a comfortable bed what else do you want? I think these complainers are kind of people that bring their spouses to Pattaya. Oh, and one final thing. Don't think you're going to impress a working girl by staying in a fancy hotel, most don't give a crap. All you're gonna do is have her think you got wads of cash to splash and that's something you don't want. Believe that!!!

    • @KangTheDigitalNomadGlobeTreker
      @KangTheDigitalNomadGlobeTreker 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Champstarrablethen you might be better writing off the whole trip as a business trip because it's just blowing money for no reason & yes I get it we all like luxury or some have it in the state or want to feel like in the movies but what the guys are trying to share as I know is you will literally begin to deal with the headaches as word travels fast of a falang who is wants spacious glass window to floor pad with glass showers and lives by xxxx rd. Or on the ritzier part of the city. They'll know who's here to get milked. Even the best here can share how wild it can get.

    • @Champstarrable
      @Champstarrable 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KangTheDigitalNomadGlobeTreker so if I stay shoebox I’ll be fine and if I stay in a nice place I won’t? Don’t buy that all. This is my 7th time returning to Thailand. If you use common sense and don’t flex on your boundaries you’ll be fine regardless of where you stay.

    • @KangTheDigitalNomadGlobeTreker
      @KangTheDigitalNomadGlobeTreker 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Champstarrable brother do what you do. No one is judging 🧐 (*critiquing the logic maybe a bit) but it's like if you share that you're a little claustrophobic especially around men and men of culture. Guys take jabs at your shortcoming. Whether it be a "flex" or not. Listen I believe what keeps Thailand "Thailand" is the lodging I'm also in the business so yeah for sure I'm a little bias because I am fully aware once you destroy that. You pretty much turn a tourist destinations into a area where locals then get kicked out and you know what happens it's happening from ocean coast to ocean coast. Those little "shoeboxes" rely heavily on falang being a guest to keep their businesses running and possibly everything else in tune. My comment is aimed at pro free market enterprise with an emphasis on smaller business. Not to say if I was buying there I wouldn't opt to buy something SPACIOUS. Sure but for a stay & relax simple.

    As someone who actually lives here in Pattaya full-time, spend a little bit more and get a decent place to enjoy your holiday. Many 3 and 4 star Hotels on Soi 3,4 and 5 between Beach Road and Second Road. Can catch Baht Bus from either side for 10 Baht. Prices right now are around 1200 -1600 Baht per night. Full maid service daily, most are visitor friendly and have at least weekend buffets included.
    I fully understand the Cheap Charlie's, but come on, do you really want a noisy flop house room for your holiday ??? Thanks Daz for another excellent video. Maybe at least once do some of the nicer places in Amphoe Bang Lamung :)

    Cost of accommodation is all relative, You want to get a place that isnt too expensive but meets your requirements taking into account your length of stay and location. I'm currently trying to find accommodation for a 27 night stay in July and will probably stay at 2 hotels in different locations. Recently, I stayed a night in Singapore for $350AUD at a basic hotel with no breakfast. You can get a week in Pattaya at a decent hotel for the same price as one night in Singapore. . . I remind myself of this when I'm browsing for a place to stay. Thanks for the review Daz.

    I stayed at a guesthouse that supposedly had soft beds accourding to a TH-cam reviewer. The bed was really hard. So when you say "soft bed", I have serious doubts when you say it is soft. Beds in Thailand tend to be really hard, which isn't good for an old man like me..

      @@PREPFORIT Could be the mattress or it could be a fluffed up comforter/duvet on top of the bed.
