Same here, we spent one week in Paris and one week in Strasbourg, and Les Frenchies videos were so helpful for our stay in Paris! Thanks so much for all your informative tips! You never steered us wrong!
We also just returned from France two weeks ago. The weather was very cooperated during our stay, from Alsace to Normandy, no rain at all. During our visit to the Alsace, Colmar and Strasbourg, we had flat bread and pork knuckles three nights in a row-)) The pork knuckles were so juicy, tender and tasty! And the portion of the meal was huge, we all needed after whole day strolling around the town:-) We should have rented a car to go more deeper into those smaller villages. We did that during the visit to Normandy, after realized that some of the places could be reached much easier by car. Thank you so much for sharing us with all the information, it's a big help. Best wishes!
I think the Alsace is one of the hidden treasures of France, the scenery and architecture is stunning, the cuisine and wines are outstanding and the people really friendly. Colmar is the ideal base for all of the lovely villages.
We have also appreciated Colmar including Hotel Le Maréchal where we have stay twice. Riquewirh is in fact truly magical along the the Castle. The day we visited Haut-Kœnigsbourg like you the castle was in the clouds on arrival but thankfully they cleared when we were at the top and managed to get outstanding photos of the vineyards below with stunning fall colors. So happy you could enjoy.
I have always considered Colmar to be a tourist magnet but never a trap. In any place tourists get trapped by going to obvious tourist places. But as The Frenchies showed, there are plenty of places of quality apparently easily available. I like that in this video they persevere through the rain. Not every place has perfect weather every time you visit. Makes their venture even more authentic.
Wow, wow and more wow! What a stunningly picturesque adventure in Alsace. Definitely a side - trip from Paris. And what a happy accident to find restaurant Bord'eau ! That is exactly what travel is all about --- the random hotel or restaurant or shop that makes it all worthwhile. Thanks a million, as always, Colleen and Antoine from New York City with my second cup of coffee on a chilly Saturday morning !

I love watching you discover my home turf and my favorite wine (Gewurtztraminer !) - and that talking stork 😅 It is truly magical here. Hopefully we will have a chance to connect when you return. Thank you for another fabulous video.
OMG...watching this..I can sense my ancestors! The scenery is superb, the food excites my stomach..and my pores start seeping when I hear the word riesling! Thank you so much for this sweet, endearing few days away from the crowds...
I am absolutely thrilled you shared this reigon early, to give your followers enough time to schedule a trip. My family was lucky to have spent Christmas there last year and it was BEYOND magical. We did not make it to Riquewirh, we opted for Strasbourg instead- for the Christmas markets. Chateau du Haute Koenigsbourg was an incredible experience, and we are just so happy to see it on your channel. This was so lovely to watch, thank you!
If you visit France you should definitely visit Alsace. It's beautiful and the food and wines OMG. It's very crowded before Christmas time because of the Christmas markets but it's worth it.
I stayed there many years ago and it was awesome! We just happened to see live music in the center with dancing. A festival atmosphere with everyone dressed up in colorful costumes. it lasted for hours. We also rode bikes in a wine village in Eguisheim and had a steak lunch there. Fairytale. Also from Colmar we took a day trip to Strasbourg. In my living room I have three watercolor paintings on the wall of these three cities. One of my fondest memories not of France but all Europe.
aaaahh Frenchies, you bring back such beautiful memories of these two magical towns in beautiful Alsace💖 the whole region is incredible and the wine, oh THE WINE! to die for♥
Bonjour Colleen et Antoine! I enjoy having my Saturday morning breakfast watching your videos about Paris, but your trips out of the city are an extra-special treat. Those towns in the Alsace region, including Strasbourg, do seem magical-très charmant! Thank you for another wonderful video!
I was so excited to hear your delightful description of Le Soï! We were there with our American cousins a couple of years ago and were thrilled with the tartes flambées and the accompanying Gewurztraminer. Your trip to Riquewihr and the Haut Koenigsbourg also brought beautiful memories. With Ribeauvillé, they are really some of the world's most enchanting places. Thank you so much, keep 'em coming please!
I can associate with Strasbourg and Colmar (I'm looking at my oval pottery dish from there) but I did not know about Riquewirh. It looks awesome. I had a similar flambé on a day trip into Germany. Thanks for the video!
Yes, I can confirm : I lived in Albi for 7 years as a child. The contrast between the outside (brick fortress) of the cathedral and the inside is mind blowing. It is also said to be the biggest brick building in the world.

@robinps52 Hello Robin 👋 ☺️!! My river cruise started in Amsterdam. We opted for a 2 day "walking tour" stay in Amsterdam and thought it was fascinating. Our water travels offered many historical and picturesque sites. There were a few stops along the Rhine Valley where they grew the grapes for Reisling wine, Cologne Germany, and the Alsace Region in France. Our water trip ended in Basel Switzerland. We extended our trip and took several walking tours throughout Lucerne and Zurich Switzerland. We did visit part of the Alps. It had snowed the night before. The air was fresh, crisp, and clean. Depending on what time of year, prepare with a good coat, hat, and gloves. Many pictures came home with us, along with memorable souvenirs. I hope you will enjoy this wonderful part of Europe. The visiting churches were absolutely fantastic.
We will be driving from Dijon to Strasbourg in September next year, so we will definitely be stopping in Colmar for a bite to eat and explore after seeing this.

Alsace is my favorite part of France! Driving the Rue du Vin for a few days is like a trip to a charming past. Everything is half German and half French because of how often this area has ping ponged between those countries, depending on who won the last war, so Alsace is unique and wonderful. And Alsatian white wine is the only white wine I will drink (I prefer red).

Beautiful video, I loved it.. We’ve been twice to Colmar and the first time my 7 year old son was having a complete meltdown while we were trying to explore the village, it was magical but boy of boy the memories of him crying, nagging and shouting haunts me until today, we went again this summer just before he turned 16 and although he was eager to explore with us, we had to rush through to go to switzerland.. Twice to Colmar and couldn’t really explore it.. I know I’m going back to see and taste everything we missed out on.. third time’s a charm 😍

I loved Colmar, I only had one day in Alsace, I spent all morning at Colmar and at noon I went to Eguisheim, a village that I completely fell in love with. On my next visit I will make sure to stay in Alsace for at least 4 or 5 days to see more of the medieval villages around.
I am literally at Colmar right now and went to riquewihr today and loved it! It changed my stereotype of France ❤
Thank you for taking us along on your beautiful adventures!!! Absolutely love this channel!!!
I've been twice, one of my favorite areas! Now I'm dreaming of Tarte Flambée.
it's so delicious!!
