Great video, nice to see him trying tough trails with a less aggressive model( no rear "locker") And the trenches seemed much tougher than with previous tests due to mud, plus Nate says they are now deeper. Still, I was surprised to see that the various spinning wheels did not seem to be getting adequate torque by way of aggressive braking of the opposite wheels. For example, the vehicle not moving forward as the passenger front wheel spins uselessly while the rear passenger wheel does not spin at all. Why wasn't the driver rear wheel braked sending enough torque to the passenger rear allowing it to maybe push them forward, or at least also spin uselessly? On the TFL roller tests, other Bronco Sports( higher packages such as Bad lands?) did as good on the rollers as any vehicle I have seen tested, with Tommy able to get "unstuck" if only one front or rear wheel had traction. Even without a "locker"(clutch driven) on the front, there was no front wheel spinning uselessly while the opposite side with traction just sat there, getting no torque. Not for more than a few seconds. Is this because not all models have the same(not as aggressive) break vectoring(?) as other models? Was it the lack of a "rock" mode that accounted for this? I need to go back and watch the baby Bronco roller tests. I do recall that rock mode made it much easier when only one wheel had traction(roller tests), but I'm thinking that even without "rock" mode, the vehicle got unstuck with only 1 wheel having traction. It just took longer. No? Not sure.
he was in the wrong mode, the Sand mode has the most aggressive brake torque vectoring to get the tires spinning at a higher rate and then braking them and sending power to the other wheels, as you can see when the wheels started to spin the engine began to bog down because of the electronic traction control that is trying to do it. Just gotta put her in Sand mode and send er'.
Now since it’s dug deeper can we get some test of Toyota MTS, Bronco, a zr2 equivalent (see how long it takes the g80 to activate), all competitors, etc without locking the differentials and see who has the best software in the market currently
Great test. It appears the Bronco sport is primarily FWD. otherwise, what’s the explanation for the front wheels slipping and rear wheels doing nothing?
I have the Badlands, it is front wheel biased. While the Badlands has the ability to force it in awd more with the clutch diff “lock”, unfortunately the other trims don’t have that so it’s more like a traditional AWD system.
@@scottyellis3442I disagree: Having had them on four different rigs (full sized Bronco, Samurai, Silverado, and Wrangler) I believe they’re a really great balance of on-road manners and off-road capability. However their nemesis is gooey mud. As seen here, they will pack up and become slicks.
@-Jethro- Well, we all have our options & what works for me may not work for you. But I've also had them & for me on road was fine but off road they did not perform & that was driving in the sand. "Very deep sand."
Actually they just had a test against the Jeep of the same caliber and the Bronco sport was a better system(TFL). The Cherokee. Now if your meeting go up to a regular Jeep, he could have done the same thing with a regular Bronco as well.
The traction control is nothing like what us on the cherokee Trailhawk. The Hawk has an actual locker and actual 4 low. None of the BS do. They compared it to a compass I believe. Which is appropriate.
The Bronco Sport is an infinitely better daily driver. Better ride, better handling, far better seating position, better fuel economy, and it’s quicker. The 4Runner is great for somebody who spends lots of time off-road, but as a daily driver, it’s not that great.
I have a feeling getting it stuck was intentional. Slip remote certainly was not the correct amount to use and I feel like he knew that. Would’ve got him right out of that no problem.
Hey, I am new to this offroad stuff, could someone explain why the rear tires are not helping out @11:30? The fronts are struggling for grip but the rear is not even moving.
It could be that the rear wheel on the other side was spinning uselessly, and we could not see it. He didn't have the "locker" option on this model. Really, just like the front passenger wheel which we could see, which was spinning uselessly. Which might well mean that the front driver wheel was just sitting there not turning. I'm not sure what was happening, but that is a possibility. But even without the clutch pack "locker" in the rear, I would have liked to see more aggressive breaking of the spinning wheels, which would work to send power to the opposite wheel which hopefully had better traction, and enough to keep him moving. But, without seeing both sides at about the same time, I don't knw what is really going on. I do know that some version(Badlands?) of the baby Bronco tested on the rollers had superb breaking of the spinning wheels, and no trouble getting "unstuck" even with only one wheel having traction. It did about as good as anything they have tested, period. But even that can be defeated if all 4 wheels have no traction. But not likely the case here, since at least one wheel(passenger rear) was not spinning, which might mean that it had enough traction with a little momentum to get them out. But instead they were stuck because 100% of rear power was going to the opposite rear wheel, spinning uselessly with zero traction.
@@cooverbennett4383 Great question🙂, Bronco Sport Big Bend is around 33k and a Bronco Big Bend is around 38k. With all the after market equipped that I installed it's probably a similar price. Not gonna lie I like creating my own art piece with all the after market parts instead of buying everything equipped stock like a sasquatch package. I enjoy finding what works best for the vehicle with a little of my own emphasis🙂. The Bronco Sport is smaller in size and allows for more maneuverability on terrain that is tighter and smaller to get through. And of coarse much better MPG compared to it's big brother. The Bronco Sport is much quieter on the highway. The standard Bronco's convertible top and hardtop are both seriously loud at highway speeds, with lots of wind noise that can detract from the overall experience.
When you spend this much, why not a full-size? My wife loves her Bog Bend Sport but it's living on-road, where as my Badlands Sasquatch is where the rubber meets the trail.

@@Coloradohighcountrywheelin Hmmm, I guess I can see why they would want to show that, but I wish they edited the video to explain what was going on then, and would have let you power through or use another mode to get out of a situation like that then, it would have been useful to see. Thanks for the reply.
those grill marker lights are so crooked...or maybe its just the camera angle.
Nice setup. I love it.
Appreciate buddy😊. It's been a blast gearing her up 👍.
This rig is actually really nice however with all the money spent he could have bought a full size bronco and had zero issues with trenches
Except, he does not know how much he spent. So how could you know?🤣 Even if you took an educated guess, are you factoring in the hiked up real world prices of a Broncos off the lot? Forget what you see advertised online. That means nothing anymore. IF his intent was to be a serious OR king, I think he knows from watching TFL, this was not the go to vehicle. 🤪
Sport mode kicks ass overall in the big bend… test it out on and off road.
did he try using sand mode? i think slippery mode is more for slippery service on tarmac road or snowy condition?
It doesn’t seem great off-road, but at least it didn’t shoot any spark plugs out at Mach 2.
ALEX 👏👏...GOOD VID....HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE ✌️
Guess the "Badland" would have made it..right?
Makes me wish we had the Suzuki Jimny in the US, smaller, cheaper, and much more capable than the fake Bronco
The Badlands version would smoke the Jimny.... this is the mild version Sport here....
That rear diffy on the Badlands would have helped out a lot with this.
I noticed that when the tiers are in the air turning fine but when they need traction they're just doing nothing, need more work by Ford.
first off, went wrong using slippery mode. should used sand or sport, in mudd you need more slip not reduced spin. it was cutting way too soon.
Can we actually get a build list on this? I'm a 22 bronco big bend owner and would love to copy some of this guy's work.
a big guy with a 3 popper... oh boi, i am speechless
😆
“Any think white and black striped” 😂😂
3:26 “stock ride height”
6:07 “oh I have a lift”
Beefed up Escape, so yeah, that would make sense.
Cool build, but one thing 5hat would definitely help would be a good set of tires. BFG's - KO2's are trash tires for off-roading.
Stock ride height....except the 2" lift...
😂😂😂😂 its totally stock
I'm assuming he added thise off-road lights after he realized he couldn't see after tinting the headlights...🤦♂️
😂😂😂😂
There's a lift on this Bronco? can't tell by looking....
He's lieing
Little more throttle commit at end probably would have got it done. I get it though.
Terrible Traction Control System :( Should have gone with a JEEP!! LOL Excellent Video, Many Thanks.....
Actually they just had a test against the Jeep of the same caliber and the Bronco sport was a better system(TFL). The Cherokee. Now if your meeting go up to a regular Jeep, he could have done the same thing with a regular Bronco as well.
then you’re buying a jeep lol.
The traction control is nothing like what us on the cherokee Trailhawk. The Hawk has an actual locker and actual 4 low. None of the BS do. They compared it to a compass I believe. Which is appropriate.
Cool to see this video
With that money just buy a used 4runner.
The Bronco Sport is an infinitely better daily driver. Better ride, better handling, far better seating position, better fuel economy, and it’s quicker. The 4Runner is great for somebody who spends lots of time off-road, but as a daily driver, it’s not that great.
4 runner decent off-road but terribly overpriced now and horrible mpg on road
Lol the people trynna justify not getting a used 4Runner is laughable
my subaru outback wilderness is a beast that can do everything here)
How did he mount the recovery boards?
This guy has the personality of a plate. 😂
Give him a break, he isn’t a pro. Some people just are not nice I guess
a paper plate
I have a feeling getting it stuck was intentional. Slip remote certainly was not the correct amount to use and I feel like he knew that. Would’ve got him right out of that no problem.
Maybe don't stop in the mud while off camber...🤷♂
The driver was like ohh I'm stuck should of gotten a badlands all the money he put on that could of been used for a bad lands
He needs to put in on low gear and put it in sand mode to to get the vehicles full potential to go off roading
I would like to see a subaru forester in that mud. It seemed like the bronco didn't know enough to switch power to the other wheels on the ground.
Pretty cute lookin car you got there, guy.
😂😂 right
Great video, was really curious what his mileage is with that 3 cylinder
24k
@@Coloradohighcountrywheelin Thanks, I meant to say what is the MPG for a 3 cylinder?
@@ap6553 All good 👌, 22 MPG. Not the stock 26. She heavy!!!!
@@Coloradohighcountrywheelin
What is the selling point/advantage of the 3 cylinder over the 4?
Better daily driver.
He could have easily gotten this with momentum. 2 inch lift hed be fine for sure.
Hey @TFLoffroad, you should get a stock Escape on your course so you can show all these big babies the difference and they can stop crying about the Bronco Sport being “rebadged”.
What about a mic for the driver!!!!!!. 😂
Garbage 😂
Holly Amazon!
All these electronic lsd’s are ruining the new cars. Manufactures way of saving money and charging more to the suckers
If he had mud tires he probably would’ve made it through
City people offroading. This is a soft roader
What you talking about? That a BRONCO! It even says so on it 😅
@@nicholassmith7048 haha. I got the sarcasm. Lol
More speed!!!!!
Why they didn’t call these “Bronco II” is lost on me.
tires tires more aggressive self-cleaning
that easy go thru
Decent. It didn’t do too bad at all.
that Bronco, said Bronc-no...
😂😂😂😂 pos ford
He would have made it if he had a few more stickers on it 🤦♂️
Why do people spend so much money on useless stuff instead of spending that money on buying a more capable vehicle. He could have spend that $2000 he spend on those lights and stickers and get a more capable vehicle (maybe used, but still)
😂😂 yes
Two years and that POS 3 cyl will be Garbage.
How so? Do you own one? I haven’t heard of any issues about the 3 cyl dragon. It seems that’s the way technology is headed since Toyota put a 3cyl turbo in their gr corolla.
Yea they just can’t afford new cars probably. Went from a v6 Sienna to a BS. Feels like a race car in comparison lol.
Nate is randy orton double big time.
Stock ride height… but a 2.0 lift??
Says stock. Then admits later there is a lift. 🤔 Definitely watches TFL and has picked up their habits. I would not say this Bronco was "Stuck DEEP". That would imply he was buried up to his frame. 🙄 Perhaps if they had worded it as: "Gets stuck in the deep trenches." I agree with Alex. It is cool looking. It seems David has upped the game there. 🤣 Good for him! No more having to go down into Tommy's demise to give rigs a proper challenge. I for 1 like the Sport. Except 1 little detail. It cannot be had with a V6. And I most certainly would not buy the 1.5L. IF I were to pick one for my lifestyle, it would have to be the Bandlands.(which I think could have walked through the trenches, even with Davids modifications)
very jank on some of the "mods" crooked bubbling just alot of jank
OK so you ask MR Hollywood Sticker wanna-bee Bronco guy to get 110% from the family daily driver machine and the Dad does want to risk tearing it up ... not a accurate test.
So much for his bragging about buying superior American products. He's still stuck 😂😂😂
Dear god a little mud and boom not going anywhere 😂😂😂😂 my dads Mitsubishi mighty max 2wd could have made that shit 😂
Me personally I don’t understand getting the bronco sport but I’m coming from a real bronco not the baby brother
Price, better mpg and you can’t get a regular bronco
Fuel mileage. Price. Their concerns aren’t yours and your concerns are not their concerns. Not everything is for everybody. Can’t believe I have to point out the obvious to a grown adult.
@@matthewgaines10 I was simply making a point it would be nice to see a bit of diversity in vehicles show. What an arrogant person you must be. Wow
