As someone that has done about 1000 hours on this game, two tips.
Start on COLD Tyres. It will help you later in the stint, it will give you less tyre wear as well.
Don't worry about the engine temps, certain tracks will increase them others will overheat. Also temps also relate to gear ratios as well.
A final hint, tyre temps are done in centigrade and not percent.
I have won the WDC in a Toyota TF106, so you are in a good car.

The Worm 06 is the most succesful F1 game ever released in 2000s...codies cant fuck with Playstation Exclusive F1 titles money that codemasters has made with F1 series is minimal compared to sales of old F1 games...

Ben, the number in the tyre indicator means ºC temperature, like you said, 22 degrees celsius, not 22%. And curiously it won't ever overheat, it will stop at 99ºC

Hi, first of all sry im commenting with my band channel :D
but i really have enjoyed this series! and my opinion is that this older F1 game beats up the new codemasters games 100 - 0. My fine collection of F1 games start from 95 :D so i know what im talking about.
About this game: i saw you doing tests for Ferrari with between seasons deal. My personal experience says that the top 4 teams are not going to sign a race driver seat so easily. Its much easier way to get the deal if u drive very good the first half of the season up till Monaco. basicly podiums. Then u might have a chance to drive for Honda, McLaren or Ferrari. Renault is really the pain in the ass: i signed to test driver (in between seasons) and uptill Monaco did the test and got the race seat for next half of the season. Won every race exept USA. Renault kicked me out. So i say forget the Renault m8 :D focus right now to these kind a weekends as this video ^ for the end of the season if u are brave enough u might get a better seat even for McLaren ! personaly with these levels of hardness i got my first ever win with Toro Rosso right here in Monaco ^^ and then spent rest of the season in RedBull and the first half of season 2. Then to the second half got the deal for Toyota and all the way to the second half of the 3rd season then McLaren ^^

Trivia for you, in development the safety car was present, but due to I have to put it down to being too buggy, it was removed before release, along with the PSP gimmick to look behind you as you drive that was removed also

to help front tyre temps, turn abs off then lock up the front tyres, doesn't cause any extra wear and gets them temps up
