@@ANGELSalazar-rm6edthe channel is about watches, and he called the lighters watches out of habit, accident, and general human brain mishaps. That is the reason why it's somewhat hilarious, because he messed up a teeny tiny bit. You should laugh N O W
Zorro lighters are second to none, I am always impressed. I bought their Kerosene lighter and it is an ACTUAL kerosene lighter... The flint somehow creates a momentary open flame to ignite kerosene, works every time.
I have the same kerosene Zorro, I have now started collecting Zorro lighters along with my 265 Zippo lighter collection. My EDC Zippo I found it when I was 13 17 years ago and it's chrome finish with American flag on front and it's so worn down and weathered the chrome is mostly gone and it's a high shine brass now from my handling it all those years and carrying in pocket and sweat and ECT. But Zorro is so nice
Already knew zorro lighters before watch this video, and agree 100%. Chinese, but with a superb quality. They Improved Zippo. I already have 2 of them and advise the zorro butane gas insert.
I collect lighters and I have to say, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'd love it if you showed off some more unique and cool pieces as time goes on.
A good addition for a Zippo is a modern gas yellow flame insert which gets around the flaws of the traditional Zippo insert while maintaining the same basic function
But you get rid of the utility of the Zippo/VOC lighter. I suppose you still have both inserts. Butane inserts are great if you're using the lighter like a Bic, but if you want a tool with multiple uses across a wider range of scenarios you have to go with the wicked cotton. It doesn't matter if you only have grain alcohol, Iso alcohol, paint thinner, acetone, gasoline, kerosene, white spirits/mineral spirits, naptha or just fucken wood lacquer, you name it. If it gives you cancer you can shove it in a Zippo and get a flame. Hold onto that old insert!
Bear in mind the Zippo was designed as a wartime expedient. Labor force and materials had been redirected to the front lines. Coleman lanterns/stoves were designed in much the same fashion.
I got the lighter sometime in December and used it as a table lighter and recharged it yesterday for the first time after the initial fueling. It didn't need to, it was still working, i just did it cause i was fueling my zippo. I have a feeling it can take months between charges 😂😂
I love both lighters but recently I started using a 1960's imco triplex super 6700, and tbh the fuel last like 3 times longer in imco lighters. Seems like Zippo and zippo style lighters are terrible for fuel evaporation. I must say I love the candle feature on an imco lighter too. It's great for lots of things. Just slides out from the bottom. Awesome video
True BUT somehow the ignition got very unreliable on mine and I don't know why. Still using the same flintstones and the thing burning (like in a candle, too lazy to google rn) is still good...
Nice I haven’t heard of them before. I definitely have a lighter fetish, going to have to check them out. For EDC try the S.T. DuPont Minijet series. Incredible build quality and just the right size to feel really good in the hand but disappears in the pocket with no bulge.
I have a polished brass Zorro 902 which is about the same size as a regular Zippo and slightly heavier than an armored Zippo. It has a 5 barrel hinge that is attached in exacly the same way as a Zippo's but there is no play in the lid whatsoever. It does not have gaskets like the 912 or 915 but the fuel doesn't evaporate as quickly as with most of my Zippos - my Zippo armor gives it a run for it's money though. It cost less than a third of the cost of a plain, regular Zippo here in the UK. The 902 is the one to go for if you want something that is almost identical to a Zippo but better.
Can you keep zorro lit for many minutes without setting it completely on fire like zippo? I don't smoke, but I want to use zippo style lighter as a mini torch, because you don't need to push a button all the time like in cheap lighters.
The misalignment is a common flaw in that model mine is the same. Armored or armor Zippos have extra case thickness and better top alignment. I can't comment to the zorros, never owned one. They do, however, make gaskets for Zippos. This and appropriate wick trimming and adjustment do a lot to combat the leaks.
I have 5 genuine Zippos. The two main issues for me: poor hinges and fuel evaporation. Major issues for me. Which is why I haven't used my Zippos in over 10 years and will probably not ever buy one again.
I've had a bunch of zippos over the years, love how they look but man, I really hated them because of the f***ing leaking issue, I'm not a smoker, I tend to use my lighters for other purpouses so I don't use them as frecuently and when I try to use them after just a few days and then realize is out of fuel after a full charge and just being used once is BS, I've been sticking with butane for years now, but after this video I may give Zorro a chance
I have been around zippo lighters since I was a kid. I've bought and acquired a few of them myself. They are 'beautiful', but leak gas like a sleeping dog. I'd never carry one regularly because they just aren't great lighters in 2024, so many better and less expensive options. The Zorro looks great, and I'm interested. At least as a desktop lighter to start out with. I'm currently carrying some rando Chinese butane lighter. Best lighter I've had, smokes Colibri. The body is a smoked transparent sturdy plastic. There's a very positive fuel view with low light. The downside of butane lighters is sometimes pressure builds in the the tank, so it won't take more fuel (until the pressure is bled off) and it can be hard to see on other lighters that there's no fuel and new fuel isn't being taken.
I bought a rubber seal for the bottom of my zippo. It stops evaporation by a bit, but not completely. I get about twice the time out of every refill with it though
I've had several Zippos and I love them but besides the brand history I prefer Zorro at the moment. It's a better bang for the buck and as a smoker who actually used the thing I found it slightly more reliable in keeping the fuel. The Zippo doesn't closes as good after I did some tricks.
You can use it to signal search-and-rescue aircraft, too! Are the inserts really interchangeable? That opens-up possibilities of swapping-in an arc-lighter. Not even slightly iconic, but also not likely to leak all over and leave a welt. Which is why my Zippo lives on the bookcase 🙄 And so what if it's shiny? You can mod it! Scotch-Brite pad and a system to keep the stroke aligned and you're off to the races. You could mask it and leave high-polish bezels. We all adore a good bezel 😊 Happy New Year
@WatchGeek Thanks for this video! I really like this Zorro lighter. Yesterday, i ordered a rounded 912 (Complete Brass/War Armor) for 30 Bucks from Aliexpress. I don't care about brand. It's just a name and by the way...this seems to be much better than a Zippo, which i own for about 20 years, but never was satisfied with it (Fuel empty after a few days, bad strokes...) I also have big hands and so this 912 could fit perfect😂
I've collected Zorro lighters I don't have a lot of them because they're relatively new, so I'm still collecting them because they are nice but I have quite a collection of the tried and true King of lighters, The USA based Zippo lighters, specially from WWII. I mean, Zippo is proven to be 2nd to none, seeing they're not a young company either. but have always been replicated...to this day. Your father and his father can attest to this, so can Zorro's lineage, too. Sooo....
Same with Imco lighters - the 'fakes' are better for half the price 😅 They lack the feeling of having a piece of history in your pocket but as a tool they are a very good option
Even the clones of zippos that zorro make are higher quality then zippos in my opinion. At least 3 times as thick whilst maintaining the classic zippo look. The design is near enough identical yet because of the tighter seal around the inserts the fluid takes much longer to evapourate. Even the cams on them are better.
I don't know if it's true but I heard that Zorro begin from Hongkong division of Ronson... So they are not your typical cheap lighter producer from China...

zorro wheel more soft and clickable than zippo wheel....so, I combine it, zippo case + zorro insert, and the result is incredible...

Hi! Are the inserts interchangeable? Can I put my zippo pipe insert in the Zorro case?
yes they are but zorro also makes pipe inserts!
I bought a brand new Zorro for € 1,80 at my local Chinese store, can't complain at all, perfect and costs nothing
The Zorro seems a touch bigger than the Zippo. I carry my Zippo in a Zippo leather belt pouch. Would a Zorro fit in the Zippo pouch?
Nice!! That hinge is beautiful.👌
