Great video Dan. Thanks for the RO20 mention. That is the message perfectly explained. Keep a few for dinner but let the big ones go. All of those trout over 20” are female and will spawn over 20 million eggs a year! In the truck now with David and Adam heading to ICAST. Hopefully we can spread the word!

This is my first year on a boat in the saltwater. Lot of pier experience but none trying to find spots but your videos have been a lot of help

Killing the fish and bleeding before icing them really makes a difference in taste. Those filets looked awesome!

I used your setup last week around Amelia island and it worked great for trout. Lots of fun and all artificial. those floats cast well too.

I never kill my catch, if I catch a bigger one later, I throw the smaller one back. 5 fish limit where I am fishing.

I only keep 3 trout per trip. If I catch a bigger one after my initial 3 have been caught, I let her go to be caught another day. Plenty of fish out there.

Let's say I am retired and living on a fixed income. I cannot afford to buy a 20 thousand dollar boat to catch a few dollars worth of fish. It makes no sense to me. What I would think is get a Google earth display on the lap top to find roads that lead to good inshore fishing spots, bring along a plastic boat I can launch from anywhere, and try those spots. Total outlay for the fishing experience would be under 2 thousand dollars, and for at least 5 or more years, I can still have fun catching dinner at a reasonable price. With the cost of quality protein going up everywhere, you rich guys can go ahead, spend thousands of dollars to buy a few dollars worth of fish, but this is not for me!

I totally see your point but no one in their right mind is gonna try to catch a pile of fish every trip to offset the high price of a fancy boat. If they are, they’re not being honest with themselves. This is a recreational sport that sometimes allows us to bring home fresh fish for the table. No one is being judged on the cost or size of the boat they fish out of. Buy what you can afford and enjoy time spent on the water with those you love and nature. Thank you for the feedback…Dan

@@LowCountryFishing I had a Neckey Dolfin 14 'ocean kayak, a sit on top. I fished from it. I did not catch a lot of fish, but I saw one guy fishing and cutting fillets illegally on their kayak and bringing in two janitor buckets full of fillets, and one huge halibut. It was a fun and low cost way to enjoy the trip, go out with a few buddies, and have a great adventure, fish or not. I was always legal and safe myself.

It's 100% not about what you fish out of and ALL about being on the water with a bonus if ya bring dinner home. That being said, look into Freedom Boat Club out of Ft. McAllister Marina (Fish Tales). The initial buy-in stings a little but is a great affordable alternative to boat ownership. There are many locals here in RH that have traded their boat for a membership.
      Tight Lines!
