As per usual an excellent video. The most important part, to my eyes, being the time taken on re-sharpening them. Stay safe and we will keep on watching. Thanks for uploading.
Thanks for the superb video. Have had both negative rake scrapers for some time but never been able to work out how to sharpen them on the proedge. Will try again tomorrow and sure to get better results
Three very attractive tools... just in time for Christmas! Well demoed Mike, you made the important, sharpening bit, very easy to understand. Best Wishes, Brendan.
Love the Simon hope tools, I have the heavy duty scrapers and use them regularly, seriously considering the FU230 as my next purchase. Great video as always Mike 😊👍🏻
Mike I note from your videos that you now have a good selection of the Simon Hope handled tools. Have you any preference as to the quick release or grub screw types,. Many thanks
Positioning of the negative rake tools ( bevel down) are opposite of 12 mm hook (bevel up)? Forgive me these are new tools for me appreciate your teachings. Thank you.

Excellent information Mike. Thanks for keeping us all up to date. Best wishes from the US.
Excellent tutorial Mike. It's too bad we cannot get Simon Hope stuff in the US. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay healthy.

Cheers mate, Bram
Thanks Bram ... they are very effective mate.
Hi Mike, great review and demo. It does seem odd being flipped over for the negative rack. Cheers Mike
Thsnks Mike, it is characteristic of Simon's negative rake tools.
Mike, very helpful video! Thank you. Subscribed and liked, keep the videos coming.
Thanks for the support.

I use the quick release for the double ended tools John, and the grub screw for the rest.
@@MikeWaldt thank you Mike
Great demo Mike 👍👍👍

This is just characteristic of Simons negative rake tools David.
Hi Mike. I know it’s an old video but what grit belt are you using please. I’ve been using 120 ceramic but the burr is very fine
I was using the Diamond belt Matt, but have since sold the system and gone back to a CBN system.
Ive got the Bigger brother round one really good tool tempted to get the swan neck next
nice job Mike
Thank you Mr. Oliver.
HOW do you keep everything Behind you clean!? I get shaving everywhere
I do too .... but I clean them up each time 😁
Great video Mike, very helpful.
Different subject, could you tell me where you got the clamp handle from for the Pro edge?
Thanks Ian ... Axminster Tools.
@@MikeWaldt, thank you for the info.
Hi Mike, Great tutorial as always. Take care mike. Cheers, Huw
Thanks Huw.
Mike could I use the same method to sharpen carbide bits ???
Thank you Douglas.
Thanks Mike👍🏻
Cheers Mike!
Are all carbide cutters to be used upside down like you have shown or is it just this particular brand tool?
Yes,,now I’m confused,,please clarify
I think it's only for negative rake carbides. The few times I've seen Mike use a carbide, the insert has been on the top.
Only for the negative rake tools Jeff.
First 😀
too quick!
@@HodgePodgeWoodWorks Mike should pin my comment lol😀
