I love that Intel, a company that should theoretically know exactly what a PC is, ignores the fact that Macs are also PCs when they try to market against them. "Buy a PC instead of a Mac" is a strange statement when you know a Mac is a type of PC. When Microsoft promotes Windows PCs, it makes sense - when Intel does, it's... peculiar. (But I'm sure it makes Microsoft very happy)
I also love that Intel suddenly hit the ground running with anti-Apple ads as soon as Apple announced their own silicon for Macs - even though there are still a number of Intel Macs in the current-gen lineup in 2021.
I grew up supporting Intel, and always choosing their components when building computers. This was for two reasons: their public image paints them as superior to AMD, and their HQ is located close to my physical location. (I grew up within 30 minutes of four, maybe more, Intel campuses) In the past decade, however, I've switched almost completely to AMD (excluding my MacBook Pro an Mac Pro, which run on an i7 and Xeon respectively - my Windows tower isn't used much anymore, but both its CPU and GPU are AMD) and I don't notice any difference in experience but paid notably less for it.
Intel's attack ads were another nail in their coffin for me. I've despised attack ads as long as I can remember, which is why I can't stand political ads or Samsung. A good ad should promote your own product/service/candidate/etc, not tear down the competition - show me why I should want what you're advertising, not why I should not want the competition.
